Did I shoot 3 times or once from different angles
I remember a while ago someone was asking if they should do a legends speed run. They should that game is too awsome for words. Alittle bit of Zelda, Metroid, and Megaman in one game. By far the most under rated game on PS1(Atleast that I've played)

I'd do one but I don't have the games anymore. And I don't have the fifteen dollars to buy them at amazon.com.  :-[
Thread title:
I was thinking of this before, it would be awesome. If I remember right, Megaman Legends and Megaman 64 are the same thing, right?

Yeah.  Megaman Legends is just the PSX version though.  Also, I think there might have been an extra dungeon..?  Not sure.

DO IT!! DO IT!! The Playstation version if you can but DO IT!!!!
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Hmm... I might give this a go too. I love MegaMan Legends. Cheesy

DLH112 and sonicam... please, please do it!!! Megaman Legends needs much more respect than what it has now. Even hardcore Megaman fans regard it as a "lesser" megaman. And as far as a speed run is concerned it should be no problem. The game is built in a very similar style to Zelda and Metriod and those game have a crap load of speed runs. Plus Legends paceing is much faster than those games. It's a no brainer.

Just you wait till I get 15 dollars I'll do one Cry

I'll try my best to get a Speed Run vid done when I finally get a new controller for my PSX, my current controller has been through Hell and back, lol. My game constantly pauses because my PS doesn't read my controller very well. :(, but when all is well, I'll Speed Run it, don't know why I never have. Shocked

EDIT: Also yeah, you're right about MML being looked down apon as the less MegaMan game. MML > MMBN IMO. Capcom needs to stop milking MMBN dry and make a damn MML3. I long await that day...

Truer words have never been spoken. As much as I love .exe they need to give it a short rest samething with the Zero series. Even though I don't think the Zeros series has lost any of its steam, they should still make way for Legends 3. Keiji Inafune did say he will do another Legends when he had the opportunity. So all we need now is for Capcom to let him make it!!!
I don't have the game. I played it at a friends house a real long time ago, and I remember it was really awesome. I might try to buy it soon, but i won't do a run of it. I lack the recording equipment. The only VCR I have available to me is
one from the 80's that only can record the video, not audio from the game. I actually made a video of me beating ganondorf faster or just as fast as TSA in his OoT run. It was funny, because you can add music from radio stations or something, and there was a country song playing, while i was fighting ganondorf.
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.
Oh lordy lordy, this made me more happy than any other speedrun news could have made me.  Cheesy  I would LOVE to see a Megaman Legends speedplay, of either the first or second one.  I only played the first one once, so I'm not very familiar with it...  but the second one I wouldn't mind trying myself.  Now, to find info on the game and the equipment I'll need to transfer the thing onto a computer....
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I think an optimum time would be just under 3 hours.

;DThings are looking up for a Legends Speed Run. I actaully went behind you guy's back and stared asking around in another Forum. Megaman Legends Station.

I was surprised to see that alot of people didn't know exactly what a speed run was. But alot of them have beat Legends in a short amount of time so it looks like some of them will be intrested.

My crusade of a Legends speed run is almost over. Smiley

56 minutes O_o
Whoa, that's freakin quick. I'd love to see that vid. Let's hope he can record it again.

I know thats crazy right. It just goes to show how much a like it is to Metroid. You spend so much time exploring but if you know exactly what to do its a sinch.

Correct, except the added analog support for the N64 version.  I don't remember the PSX version having it.
Well... my best (not speed running persay) time for Hard mode is 2:52... I'm sure I could do better if I actually tried....

This is for Megaman 64 (version)

DOES ANYONE want to make a rules sheet for this game... because.... do you know how hard it would be if you had to Unlock ALL the weapons TOO.... likewise... if you WERE to speed run on EASY... would use of the SUPER BUSTER Part be legal or not... (should be legal given its easy mode)....OR... maybe just Start-to-Finish No holds barred kill Juno... end
Did I shoot 3 times or once from different angles
I don't think it you shuld have to upgrade all the weapons to get 100%. But I do think you should atleast make them and have them in your inventory. And if it's being ran on easy you should be able to use the Super Buster part for sure. C'mon it's suppose to be an easy run.

Well thats what I think. Someone say something if they disagree.
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.
I would think that the conditions for a 100% run would be to have all the weapons in your inventory, plus all the boots, the best armor, and the helmet, plus any that I'm forgetting.  Basically the same as a Zelda run:  you need to get everything on the item screen, but you don't need to waste time expanding them. (i.e. maximum attributes on the weapons.  that'd just be boring to watch, and to do)

I could see difficulty modes being seperated from each other, along with three divisions.  100%, pure speed, and buster-only/low%.  Wow, I can't wait to see this done.  I just got my hands on Megaman Legends 2, so now I'm going to begin my own crusade...
Did I shoot 3 times or once from different angles
Yeah thats what I meant. Get everything you can find but don't buy upgrades for it(except for armor cause buying it is the only way to get it.).The same thing applies to the energy cantine(that thing thats like a E-Tank) you could buy enhacnements for it all the way till it's 99 but one is much too expensive once you buy like 10 of them.

There should be some serious plannin going on. Like what special weapon should be used against certain bosses and what not. Plus, just because it's not a requirement to max out your weapons doesn't mean you shouldn't, it's always a good idea to do it alittle. I remember a long time ago I upgrade the mine's attack once and it made the fight with the Bonne tanks so much easier and faster.
Killer Chobocos don't get any chocolate.
I'm going to do it... HARD mode under 2:00 if possible... otherwise someone set a goal

NOTE: 100% Item list... other than crafting all the weapons..... what about the FLOWER and the MUSIC BOX.... how many DUD items are there for reference purposes....
Did I shoot 3 times or once from different angles
I think It would be more impressive if you really got every thing. Plus the music box is obtained by doing the Dash challenges. So it's not like I'll take that long.

Now weather or not giving the items to Roll should be considered a requirement for 100% is a mystery to me.
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.
I'd say that any trade items should be traded for a 100% run.  it's not like it'd add that much time talking to Roll a few times, would it?
Did I shoot 3 times or once from different angles
O.K. Rules for a 100% Speed Run we have so far:

- Collect all Special Items(Thats the inventory where the armor parts, digging licences, etc are stored)

- Collect all Trade Items(Things like the Music Box that you can give to people for other items or just plot purposes.) and you must give them to their corresponding characters.

- Collect all Buster Parts(The stuff you use to upgrade your Mega Buster, the default weapon of the game).

- Construct all Special Weapons(The weapons you must obtain by giving specific Items to Roll.)

- It is not required to upgrade weapons or Items you have in your inventory(Stuff like the Energy Cantine can be left how it is when first bought. Same thing with all Special Weapons), except for the body armor for it's is a new vest every time instead of an upgrade.

I think that it. For now atleast. I don't know weather collecting one of each Normal Items(things like Shield Repair) should be a requirement too. Also there's that thing you buy to make you Life Bar longer. It'd be like getting all the hearts in zelda but not really cause you have to buy it so it feels like an upgrade. So peope say what should be changed.

Oh and I used this picture to help me out in being orderly  Smiley

No... you wouldn't need a Potion to do a Final Fantasy speed run (let alone 99)... so you wouldn't need a Shield Repair or Chameleon Net (or whatever)... expendables don't count

K... heres the checklist so FAR

All weapons collected
Flower+Ring+Music Box
Museum Quest Completed
IMO Buster Parts should be excluded under Basic RPG clause... as in: you don't need to buy ALL the equipment in the game.... IMO
