Alright. I have completed my path for this speed run. I got a time of 1:39:04 which is a lot better than expected. I can improve this because I watched a few movies and forgot what to do.
My goal is to get a time under 1:20:00. I believe it could be lower but I shall see when the run is completed.
I shall begin recording the run tomorrow (Tuesday) and it will be done in 14 segments.
01: Beginning. Features the battle in downtown. Saves and ends at Data in downtown after the battle. 02: Saving City Hall. Features the battle with Bon Bonne. Saves and ends at data before the Marlwolf. 03: Battle with the Marlwolf. Thats pretty much it. 04: Cardon Forest Sub-Gate. Running through the field with the Support Car and exploring the Sub-Gate. Saves after completing the Sub-Gate. 05: Getting to the Lake. Exploring the Ruins of Kattleox Island. Saves before exploring the lake. 06: Battle on the Lake. Thats pretty much it. 07: Exploring the Lake Jynn Sub-Gate. The process of obtaining the Red Refractor. Saves after exiting the Sub-Gate. 08: Clozer Woods Sub-Gate. The process of exploring the Clozer Woods Sub-Gate. Saves after completing it. 09: Battle in the sky against the Bonnes. Saves after the battle. 10: The Main Gate and Bruno. Exploring the Main Gate and battling the difficult Bruno. 11: Under Old City. Obtaining the first key. 12: Under Uptown. Obtaining the next key. 13: Under Downtown. Obtaining the last key. 14: The final showdown. Perfect Battle (no damage) against Mega Man Juno!
Thats the basic run down. Im pretty sure I can get this done and sent out by the weekend.
Awsome, thanks alot I can't wait to see it. Besides a few segments that seem alittle too short that seem perfect for a segmented run. So in the end you didn't get any Special Weapons?
I agree. Some of the segments are short but I wanted to perfect them. In the future I will make the total number of segments shorter altogether.
From what I can tell, it has been a no damage run as well which I am pretty happy about. ;D. Of course a few parts give me some trouble with the no damage deal.
I collect 3 Special Weapons. The first is the Mine Parts Kit which helps out in 2 battles. I also collect the Powered Buster early in the game (Im pretty sure everyone knows how, its not really a secret) and use it in the Clozer Woods Sub-Gate for only one part. I also collect the Active Buster which helps out a LOT.
As far as the Special Weapons, thats it. For upgrading, I am only doing the Active Buster, because it helps for one battle I use it in.
Im pretty sure whatever time I get, I will be happy with because I am positive it will be less than 1:30:00 and with no damage it makes it even better (not sure if I can do it, but I will try).
After everyone sees how I play (which I think could be better), I'm positive someone will find a way to make it faster. I'm pretty sure that their are better stratagies (especially in Lake Jynn, I can't figure anything out...) for many of the bosses. After the video is released I think is when I will recieve some help on how to make it faster. We shall see when it is uploaded.
I wish alot of people would get into it. I mean theres part 1 any% and 100%. Then theres part 2 any% and 100%. I never played Misadventures of tron so I don't know if it's runnable in any way.
While recording the first segment I got hit a few times but knocked down only once. I kept going because I was going the fastest I possibly could. This is my best time so far for this segment. I got 00:08:37, 3 seconds faster than last time I did this one and I even took a little damage.
For now I am going to leave it there because I want to get this run out already.
I completed the first 5 segments so I am basically one-third of the way there. There are some slip ups but that is to be expected. Overall, I am still shaving time off so it is looking good so far. :D.
Awesome, keep it up. If I had the cabling and equipment to record runs, I'd do one myself. I will try to speed run this game when I find it (temporarily, well, I hope only temporarily lost it), I'll see if I can even come close to Ifrit's time, or I'll do a 100% run instead, or maybe an Easy Mode run.
Also, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne is an excellent game. It's very fun. The game IMO would be difficult to speed run since the game formula is different than the orginal Legends game formula. There is a mix of Action (MML style), Puzzle (no action at all, just moving crates around to make a path, requires the mind), and RPG (you are forced to talk to people and find your way). It's a different style of gaming, but it's loads of fun. It might be runnable, but I don't know. I still haven't beaten it so I can't say.
Hey, just picked up this game ($5 WOO!) today..from the bit I've played of it, it's pretty fun. Once I make it through it myself,I'll probably watch the vids and see if I can't pick out some stuff.
Easy mode? That would be a complete destruction of the game...
Indeed, but it could make a very quick pure speed run. Being able to beat the game in less that an hour would most likely be possible since Buster Max rips thought all bosses with it's Attack and Rapid at max. It could still be pretty impressive eventhough it is pretty damn easy to beat since beating it in under an hour is awesome.
After 8 segments (check an earlier post for where that is) I have acheived a time of 00:49:03 so far. I believe this is good. There are some places that can be improved. Hopefully after it is released new strategies will be unvealed somehow.
Suffice to say I won't be able to help on this...after my copy would freeze upon getting to a certain cinema scene, I decided to try and fix it using the Disk Doctor thing my brother had purchased. I unfortunately didn't know the Disk Doctor was broken, and as a result my PS2 now thinks Mega Man Legends is an audio disc that starts on track 2. O.o
I'll have to track down another copy at some point.
