First of all, I would like to say a great THANK YOU for all your efforts, your participation and, of course, you god skills.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to thank you, but hey, I really felt the need to say it.  I enjoyed every speed run you did to date.  But here's where I want to go : Your Yoshi Island speed run.  GOD FREAKING DAMN, I've never seen a speed run as smooth, where the player perfectly mix dexterity, fluidity and skills.  WOW.  It seems that you and the game are one.  Like there's not a freaking single error, like it was a computer who played, like you really used the perfect path in every level.  Such a speed run should be honored.  Not "HONORED" in sense that let's go, honor the hell outta it, no, but a simple thank you.  It probably took some huge ass efforts, and that cannot stay hidden.

David, thank you for all your efforts.  And that is also valid for everyone of you, speed runner, who build some great intertainment for us, speed run fans...

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. Out of all the runs I probably spent the most time on YI and I haven't really received any feedback on it like I have many of my other runs.

Is this a "marshmallow appreciate" thread? Sounds good to me.

I actually can't place my finger on all the runs that marshmallow's done... kinda embarrasing. I wonder how much trouble it would be to add a page to SDA sorting the speed runs by player? That way, we can see all the runs be our favorite speed runners clumped together in one place. It'd definitely be neat to see what kinds of games certain players try to speed run.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Thanks for being the guy to finally do Starcraft speedruns, and doing them well though (apart from complete lack of hotkey usage :P)
No feedback on your YI run? This is one of the most impressive runs I've ever seen. I can well imagine how hard it must have been not to mistime a single jump. I've played through YI 100% myself, so I can really appreciate what you've done.

An extra thank for this juwel Wink
I've actually tried to send marshmallow fanmail before, but the email address I found didn't work (marshmallow@n2000.com or something like that).

But yeah, he's (you're) my favorite speedrunner because of 3 reasons:

1. the sheer number of titles he does, and the quality with which he does them; for instance, compare his 70 start sm64 run to the 120 star one (no offense to that player) to see how tight his runs are! I remember even back when someone had a 16star run up (not the current one), and marshy's 70star run was still tighter than the 16star one.
2. He usually does single segments, and I really appreciate single segments (and again, SSs are not at the cost of quality runs).
3. He does weird ass games! I love to see games that no one wuold think of speedrunning, get run. In fact, my favorite speedrun is super mario rpg.

and yeah, the yoshi's island run was aweomse Wink

I also need to compliment marsh...  he has probably the highest video game skill to File Transer Protocoling skill ratio that I have ever seen in a player.  And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
Zelda Scientist®
Yeah, the YI, SMRPG, HL2 runs were awesome. but... I think we all know that doing 100 jumps is impossible. I mean, you can't just go and do it 2 times, thats not fair!
Either way, you're too good at speedruns. Its great for me to watch 'em, thanks. (but seriously, start paying your child support)

The Yoshi's Island run was boring, I thought.  That game isn't really for speed "tricks", and marshmallow played it so well that it was like tool-assisted.

I'm serious.  The run was too good to be entertaining.  That's... a disturbingly good job.

So beaujolais to marshmallow!
I'm addicted to games
What about the level of YI where I crushed marsh?  Tongue
By how many seconds did you beat him? That's sure amazing, too. Did you try the other ones as well? Or is your run supposed to be the evidence that marsh is not a machine?  Wink

I only did that one level because I had an idea for a huge shortcut. His time was 3:11 vs my 2:04.
Wow. Especially these shell jumps require an insane timing and are very entertaining to watch.

The more I see of this site the more I want to submit my own speedrun. How about Assignment Ada in 8 minutes?

I think marshes SMRPG run is what got me hooked on SDA. 100 super jumps... I can only do 20 at max Angry

The shell jumps were awesome.  They were sort of like sequence breaks, though, so I was pretty entertained by them.
