Mario Kart Double Dash speed run

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Im planning on doing a MKDD speed run and i would some information like What the previous record is (if there is one) and any glitches/shortcuts that could help me. I would like to eventually complete all cups with the record time.

So, anyone willing to help?

There are tips and stuff on the site you just linked.

And in terms of SDA, there are no previous records. You're home free on that front.

Stephen Meakings had a 28:55 All-cup run on tape, but I don't know if he sent it in yet.

I have his 29:xx All-Cup-Tour and it's great. He even dodged a blue shell at the beginning.

Well i guess i'll have to beat 28 minutes, i was aiming to get at least 32 minutes but i'll try and get around 28.

I really don't understand that whole "Dodge the Blue Shell" thing. The people always talk about how easy it is too. Some practice maybe?

And yes. This would look great to run. Not that I have any advice, but hey: go for it.

Thanks, i'm about to go play now, i'm gonna try Lugi Circuit and use this turbo trick that i forgot about but remembered about when i watched a video of MKDD, it was Rainbow Road i belive, anyway, i'm off.

I don't know if it's considered 'easy.' If it were, people would have close to 27:xx times. Considering it takes about 8 seconds per hit.

I know someone in a previous thread said he got lucky and dodged 3 in a row once. But that's the most I've heard. I've never heard of anyone getting it down to a science where they could dodge every one.

Sweet, it looks like more than one person is planning to run MKDD. That's cool, I plan to run it after I finish a few other games that are my current priorities, then I'll get to running the game.

It would be an unbelievably tough task to master dodging the blue shell, but I'm sure you would be able to do it with a whole lot of practice at it, and then maybe even able to do it consistently. I'm probably getting the game this weekend, gonna start playing it again as soon as I get home from the mall. I'll see if I can dodge the blue shell and practice it a lot if I can to try and perfect the dodging technique.

How do you dodge that shell? The only way I know is to be invincible with a star.

In Mario Kart DS, if you get a drift boost and then jump immediately after a blue shell hits, you can just barely miss it if you're at a high enough speed. However, I'm not sure if the technique transfers over to Double Dash because of the lack of jumping.
