Don't eat me.
At the time of this thread's creation, the game wasn't even released in America yet, but we could still talk about it. Some things I found out so far:

- You can fast-foward dialogue and cutscenes with the R-button. The game explains this feature right before the Paper Petey-Boss, but you can use it before it's explained.
- You can sprint using X, could make walking around a lot faster. Not sure with jumping makes you faster.
- 100% runs would involve the player getting every bean, ?-Block, ?-Areas and Paper Toads. Not sure how much longer this would make the game. Paper Toad mission might be the most annoying part of that.
- any%-runs still require you to get a certain number of Paper Toads to progress. The rest is completely optional.
- The Boss-Fights in this game a incredibly difficult. This game will probably require a lot of Boss-practice. You can fight against bosses in the Lakitu-houses after you defeated them.
- Not sure about any skips yet, haven't really found any. Though you can cut off some pathways by using the paper-glider.

Currently in my casual-playthrough, sitting at around 21 hours. I died a lot and collected all the beans / Paper Toads though, guessing sub 5 hours could be possible. Anyone else here currently playing?
Thread title:
Surprise! I'm over here now!
There's actually been a ton of work done on this game. A very easy OOB glitch was found with massive potential for skips. Check it out at the link below.

Gotta go fast!
I think what would make 100% difficult would be completing all the expert challenges. Keep in mind the bosses when re-fighting them get a large power boost and you need to get S Ranks on the bosses to complete the challenges and one of the criteria is how many times the boss moved. However, an all paper toads run could certainly be interesting and definitely do-able with practice on the missions. The game is fantastic at keeping a log of things (even incorrectly with some of these glitches) but it would make doing strange runs such as all blocks or all paper toads simpler even if 100% is not plausible due to the sheer amount of stuff you would need to get for it to truly be 100%.

Oh
I've been enjoying Paper Jam as well, recently, and it's great to hear that a ton of work has been done on it. That spreadsheet only contains an expired link to a Discord channel though.

After a bit of searching, it seems to be much easier to get out of bounds in this than in Dream Team. You can apparently skip about half the bosses in the game, maybe more, which is kind of crazy. Looks like a pretty fun run in the any% categories.

Personally, I haven't found anything on what you actually need in order to get 100%. Beans, ?-Blocks, Item Patches and Paper Toads are tracked on the Collection screen, so those obviously count. The more questionable ones are Expert Challenges, Medals, and Battle Cards, all of which are tracked somewhere else. It seems to me that any of these could count towards 100% (though I'm inclined to say Battle Cards really shouldn't count simply because of how much of a chore it is to get them all.) Has a decision been made on that yet? Depending on the results, Paper Jam may be broken enough for 100% to be a viable category.

I haven't beaten the game yet, so I don't know if any specific completion stats are shown after the credits either.

EDIT: After the credits, the game shows your completion progress on Expert Challenges, Battle Cards, and the four collectibles tracked in the Collection Menu. (It also shows rates of Excellent Actions and successful dodges.) To my understanding, that means 100% runs will include Expert Challenges and Battle Cards, which means 100% is not a viable category at the moment. That's a little depressing.
