Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.
For those looking to use our tracker, the code is open source, among our other projects, and can be found here: https://github.com/GamesDoneQuick

My feelings on The Demon Rush
Just FYI so people know, Cool Matty and I talked and consulted about the tracker. There's a lot of marathons out there now, and in an ideal world we could support them all, but that isn't practical.

Also contact me and/or Cool Matty if you are interested in using the tracker.
HELLO!
Oh it's open source?  Nice work guys.  A+.

AND you're offering to host it for marathons?  I'm out of higher letter grades, oops. Dang grade inflation.
Do you have the prerequisites for people that are going to host their own?  I assume some database (MySQL) and Languages (PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby).  Since the thread is named "Marathon Tracker Hosting Requirements and Submissions" posting that information seems to fit here.

We run PostgreSQL but IIRC it can work with MySQL as well.

It is written in Python 2.7.x, running on top of Django 1.5.x. The rest is up to you.
Django is capable of dealing with a number of different backends, including SQLite (which is literally just flat text files).
HELLO!
I'd test the scalability before running on SQLlite for a sizable marathon though. Smiley

Just wanted to mention we're giving a sort of amnesty window on the 30-day requirement to marathons that were already planned in the near near future. However, if your marathon is planned to occur after October 3rd, you apply to the 30-day rule. That said, if you want to use it for your marathon, you need to tell us IMMEDIATELY. If you come to us a day before your marathon I'm still going to reject it.
Can you point me in the direction of the source code? If I make any changes, I'll be sure to send them back upstream.

Thanks. Smiley

We would like the online marathon Seamergency 2 on August 7th-11th to be considered for having the marathon tracker hosted by SDA. This will be our fourth year running a charity marathon to benefit the Shark Savers program (recently merged with WildAid.)
Our dedicated tech crew and donation readers will be mainly those experienced from our previous marathons, and we have a #sharksavers chat on irc.rizon.net where they will all be for quick contact needs. We will be having a minimal amount of physical prizes, but art requests will be done live all marathon long in order of highest to lowest donations.

Schedule so far (still double checking some times and adding a few more runs): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ag_qt4j1p5JCdE15c2JmUkJnY2pYYTRvN3dOT3lyNFE#gid=0

Thank you for your consideration.
