So our good friend has fallen on some hard times, brother had a bad accident with a drunk driver, his uncle died and his car was stolen, it was located but it was in the process of being stripped, so needless to say Para's finances are a bit stretched to put it lightly so I'm looking to see if we can make a little thon and help him out, no goal, whatever people can donate, also give the man a good day where he can just laugh and enjoy himself.

If you want any further details PM para directly, he is BaronOfBacon here on SDA, he will check SDA, if you know him or have him on skype or twitter you can send him a message there and ask.

the weekend 20-21 would be best for that month, since 12 hour speedrun challenge and GWP7 are on 6-7 and I can not do 13-14 nor 27-28

I can't do the last weekend in Feb. and would recommend taking more time than you think you'd need for planning and spreading the word.

As for games, I'm going to be focusing on two in the near future (plus another for 12HC, but I won't be good enough at that one Tongue

).

Final Fantasy XII: 7:30:00

I've played the former at the past two SGDQ's and can fish up the VOD for a time four seconds slower than my PB if needed. For FFXII I've done enough with speedrunning the game that my one attempt since 2013 (with notes that got royally messed up, so I was essentially going without them in a complicated run) was on pace for that estimate until the endgame screwed me over twice.

So I was talking with Paradox Zero and while I have some misgivings considering I haven't played either of these games in a few months, he wanted me to offer them because he thought they'd be funny to watch. With that being said I'm offering this:

A BID WAR
Shaq Fu (SNES) (20:00 w/setup)
Shaq Fu (Genesis) (20:00 w/setup)

The viewers can pick which game they want me to suffer through with their donations. The Genesis port is around 2-3 minutes longer, but an estimate of 15 minutes + 5 minutes for Setup will be sufficient. I will be going for strats that are not marathon safe because that's the only way I know how to play the game. I either will trainwreck or conquer the game. Either way, it should be fun.

This video is incredibly old, and is a minute slower than the WR, but it shows that I've played this game way more than most sane people probably should.

Will give me time to pick games, make a schedule, figure out what channel its gonna be done on and spread it around to.

Thon will most likely start off with Crime Fighters, doesn't get any worse than that in terms of disaster potential.

And sorry peter but that's the date, your offerings where appreciated though, and to answer your question since I forgot last time, the last thon happened nearly a year and a half ago and it went swimmingly, we raised 700.

I can do that date even though I'll be away from home dogsitting for relatives, but not for FF12 - at least not in one sitting. Also I can't guarantee my stream quality will be the best, but I can at least troubleshoot streaming from my laptop and see if I can find a way to connect directly to their modem with a tv nearby.

Game is pretty marathon safe and fun to watch. Could do a donation incentive on which ending we do (Revenge or Redemption, one adds an extra duel and different dialogue).

I should be good to go for the final weekend of February if that's what we decide on.

For anyone that had any doubts this was written by Para himself if you would like a more clear picture of the purpose of the thon and where the money is going.

I myself might have to bow out because my barely working PC seems to have died for good, its blue screening constantly on start up now.

I'll make a rudimentary schedule this week and post it, won't be final of course we'll accommodate everyone's schedules to ensure you're not rushed during the run.
