I know this doesn't have anything to do with speedrunning, but considering that this is the Quake section I thought it would be best to put this topic here.

What are some good single player maps?  I've been playing Quake on/off forever, but I've never tried out any custom maps.  Can someone recommend me some, possibly with links?

Yeah, there are so many nice map on SDA, for example Radix's favorite : beach1  Grin

I wonder how Optic choose the map he run, at the time SDA accepts any new maps.

Nowaday if you take a random map on SDA it can be wonderfull... or not.
