Hello friends!

Since there have been several people that mentioned would like to see/participate in a Seiken Densetsu Relay, I was thinking of throwing such a thing together sometime in the near future.

Now for that I want to know how many people/runner of these games would be interested in partcipating in this thing exactly, so I will be giving a rough idea on how I am planning to do this.

Games:
Final Fantasy Adventure (Seiken Densetsu 1) - Any% Warpless (Estimate 2:10:00 - 2:20:00)
Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2) - 1P2C (Estimate 1:55:00 - 2:10:00)
Seiken Densetsu 3 - Archdemon Story (Estimate 6:00:00 - 6:30:00)
Legend of Mana - Dragon Storyline (Estimate 1:45:00 - 2:30:00)

We have settled on November 7th, starting at 10AM EST at twitch.tv/rpglimitbreak !

Also, Dawn = Seiken Densetsu 4. Legend is a gaiden game, sadly.

PB: The best.
Available: September, most times except the first week. I will need at least a month notice to make sure I'm off for the days of the relay. August is a no-go, will likely be way too busy with work, especially early in the month.

I've never seen anyone play SD4, let alone speedrun it. Removing that or just arbitrarily replacing it
with Legend of Mana is probably the way to go.

You'll be hard pressed to find a third player of FFA. I've never seen any English speaking runners of the warpless category aside from myself and Bowie. There are a few more runners for the warps category, but only Bowie has ever really focused on it.

I also run Secret of Mana, but I'm much better at 1 controller than at 2 controllers.

I think having LoM instead is a much better choice, especially as people actively run it.

Also I think eLmaGus meant to include LoM in the relay instead of SD4. This is going to be a really interesting setup though, hopefully we can make this happen.

Furthermore, if anyone is interested in learning SD3, I could maybe provide a sort of tutorial video. Just tell me, if there would be a general interest in that.

If people turn up and tell me they want to learn Dawn, sure. I just felt that Legend had a larger following and better chance at completing a 4 game relay than Dawn, people are free to prove me wrong though :).

Also yeah Seiken Densetsu, Gaiden, whatever its Mana.

I am hoping that somebody who wanted to learn games such as FFA, SD3 and whatnot turns up here and wants to participate Smiley

Like I said, I would like for this to go down in August/September, but its possible it will be later if I can make more teams than 2 and people need to learn a game. We will see how the interest is.

assuming i can get a streaming thing set up by the end of augest/early setember I could try and learn sd3 for the relay? i'm interested in learning it either way.

There is a 3rd Warpless runner - Sekafirst. He logged a 2:40:xx a while back. Not sure if he continued running it, but i remember chatting with him in the thread.

If anyone is interested in learning Secret of Mana, I've got a tutorial from last year that's still kinda good. It's missing a recent discovery to skip Frost Gigas, but otherwise it should provide a solid base to learn from.

Anyone looking to learn FFA should hit up myself and/or BowieTheHero. Our PB times are essentially tied, yet we use wildly different strategies (I blast through with magic, while he takes it like a man with physical attacks).

So to underline what has happened until now:

We have 4 FFA, 3 SoM, 4 SD3 and 2 LoM Runners! A lot of people are learning though, so i might consider pushing this back to november.

I would really love to get 4 teams for this and it seems like this might be a likely possibility! so please if you know people that do run/are interested let them know!

I'm not sure if y'all would have me, but if it's in November I'd have enough time to get up to snuff on SoM and even up the first couple of games. PB is 2:26:xx right now but could EASILY improve that and implement new strats etc. to get down where everyone else is. Let me know!

Alright so since so many people are learning and such things, i have decided to push this back to November.

I would shoot for either November 7/8, November 14/15 or November 21/22 starting at 12 PM EST if possible.

Now this requires me to once again get availability from everybody and im sorry but i want this to go right, so yeah please update or notify my about your availability, thanks.

Regarding Legend of Mana, can you guys try to convince runners of different routes to learn yours? is running on emulator that big of a deal? (i dont know but i see you are very adamant about console).

I would really like to get 4 teams together!

I am working on some specific paths images and new optimized strats to post on speedrun.com. Hopefully I'll be done with it within 2 weeks. This Will be a good complement to What already exists. Will try updating it better and better.

And btw, SoM ISN'T a hard speedrun to learn. Please join us.
