Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
The reason that you start in the mayor's residence is that its entrance is has index 0.  Since the game doesn't recognize that owl statue as a proper save point, it probably just saves 0 to your "entry point", and thus plops you into the Mayor's House when you reload.

EDIT: well, it's not index 0, but I think it's the lowest one.  It's somehow the default one, though.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Why bother hover from one side of CT to the other?
Fun find thou
grunz, are you redoing your seg 14?
Merry Chrismas =)
yep

I can save about 2 seconds by pressing A to skip the cutscence while slowing the time down Wink
I've finished segment 14 already, but I want to upload it together with the Snowhead Temple segment.

If I had a little bit luck, I would be able to finish the segment today.
Good Luck then. Snowhead is my favorite temple.
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Funny, after speedrunning this game Snowhead temporarily became my least favorite temple...

Anyways, here's something you guys might like.  It's obviously Tool-Assisted, but still fun.

yeah, snowhead starts to piss me off, too. All that weird manouvers you have to pull off, the wizrobe fight, goht, the hookshot tricks, the bomb hovers and especially rolling up to the temple in one segment is damn hard

does it save any time if you the butler race like this?

Edit:
I'm through that bitch of a temple now Grin
All I can say is, that the segment turned out amazingly! It's about 25 seconds faster or something than petrie's Snowhead Temple segment Smiley

Here you have it:

Well, I was optimizing for game time...>_>  Anyways, you can kill the Wizrobe in 2 hits with punches on the second phase.  Also, I didn't know pounds did 3 damage.  Weird.

On a different note, for those of you who like the wrong warp glitch, here's an updated version of the Grotto map

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x90/petrie911/GrottoMap1-2.png

Incidentally, found out that the final unknown grotto was the Hot Spring in the Frozen Lake.  For some reason its warper works differently than the others, which is what threw me off.  Perhaps there were originally other hot springs like it in other areas?

I know, that you can kill wizrobe with 2 punches, but it's a lot harder than doing it with pounds and I can't see any real differences between Game Time and Real Time in the Snowhead Temple route.

you did great work on that grotto thing Wink
can you tell where the entrance of the peahet grotto is?
I didn't know, tht this grotto exist

oh, and when I tryed to do the wrong warp glitch of a Generic Pit to the Lens of Truth cave, I noticed, that there are more than one Lens of Truth cave.
I found two different Grottos, that all contained the entrance of the Lens of Truth cave.
why did that happen?
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
No, there's only one LoT cave.  Perhaps you just managed to get yourself on the other side of its loading zone.  There's still quite a bit of cave on the other side of the loading zone trigger.

The Peahat pit is in the tall grass in S. Termina field, near the Ranch entrance.  There should be some butterflies flying around near its entrance.
Petrie I don't understand this chart as far as what leads where could you explain.
And if we found a way to make hot spring water not cool off after a period of time could we get rid of fire arrows in the low% or am I forgetting yet another thing in the Great Bay or Stone Tower Temples?
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Fire Arrows are the only thing that melt Goht.  It's annoying, but true.  Similarly, Light Arrows are only needed to flip the Stone Tower.

As for the chart, I suppose I should be more specific about where each grotto is.

Bay Gossips--A pit in W. Termina field that contains 4 gossip stones.  It's under a bombable rock near the WCT entrance.

Mountain Gossips--A pit in N. Termina field that contains 4 gossip stones.  It's near the NCT entrance, at the edge of the snow.

Swamp Gossips--A pit in S. Termina field that contains 4 gossip stones.  It's at the edge of some tall grass, between the swamp and the ranch entrances

Ikana Gossips--A pit in E. Termina field that contains 4 gossip stones.  It's near the Observatory's fence

Generic Pit--One of many pits found throughout Termina.  They all contain a fish, some bugs, bushes, 3 deku babas, and a chest with varying contents

Lens of Truth Cave--The cave where you get the Lens of Truth.  Fairly self-explanatory

Hot Spring--The hot spring under the ice crystal in the frozen lake between Mountain Village and Goron Village.

Peahat Pit--A pit that contains a single Peahat, which, when defeated, gives a Heart Piece.  Found in some tall grass in SW Termina Field.

Akindo--A pit containing an Akindo Nut (Business Scrub) near the Observatory.  He sells you a Heart Piece.

Bay Heart--A pit containing a Heart Piece in a beehive and very deep water.  It is under a bombable rock near the Great Bay Fence

Dodongo's Cavern--A pit containing 2 dodongos under one of the frozen trees in N. Termina Field.  When they are defeated, they yield a Heart Piece.

Cow Pit-- A pit containing many bushes and some cows.  They are generally hidden.  One is found by bombing under the hollow trunk in S. Termina Field.

Magic Beans--The pit where you get the Magic Beans.  It is in the far part of the right palace garden.

Far Palace Garden--A pit connecting the far sides of the left and right palace gardens.  Only normally accessible in the Japanese Version, it contains the Magic Bean salesman.

Near Palace Garden--A pit connecting the near parts of the left and right palace gardens.  Only normally accessible in the Japanese Version, it has two climibing vine walls.
Well I know where all the pits are I guess I'm confused on how this whole wrong warp business works.

I know that Fire Arrows are the only way (currently) to melt Goht but if we could get a bottle of hot spring water all the way to him could we use that? I know that there is no glitch that will do this but just thinkin' out loud.
Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time
That was actually tested a long time ago. I think the result was that hot spring water does melt that ice, but it's too time consuming to go back and get, or something along those lines. I could be wrong since it's been awhile, though.

No, HSW most certainly does not melt Goht.  Just tried it.

Dang. Was a neat idea.

Anyways could someone explain this wrong warp business and how to utilize it.

yeah, love hovering up the middle tall room
Hey guys I made a video of getting the hookshot without the Zora Mask.

I just hope we'll be able to find a way to get into that damn temple without the New Wave Bossa.
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
hmm, now that I think about it, we'll need to get to under 20 explosives, maybe less since we don't have the option of going through the Fortress sewer.  To do a >20 bomb hover in low% you need the Blast Mask, which would allow skipping the Hookshot anyways.

Anyways, fun 100% tricks continue

This one's doable in real time.  Targetting the bombchu might not be easy, but it's not necessary and the rest is fairly straightforward.

If we could get into Great Bay Temple without New Wave Bossa I think that the Bottle or Zora Mask would become obsolete. I think petrie has a vid of the Temple without the Zora Mask but it requires the bottle .

This is assuming you pick Blast Mask.

Feel free to correct me, I'm just thinking of ideas.

Edit: Nevermind I don't think we can get anything in a bottle that would drop us multiple times. So unless theres another reason (there probably is) the bottle becomes skip-able.

Yes but we'd need the hookshot to get to the Stone Tower or we're stuck hovering. And my video wasn't explosive optimized.

The list is somewhere around here but it comes down to a simple thing of Hookshot vs Blast Mask. Bombs are one of the included items in both equations due its ability to be a portable ISG activation. Yes the Blast Mask would make Stone Tower A VERY LONG SEGMENT, but it is do-able and makes things such as the Snowhead climb seem possible (even if very long).

Edit: See my other post (the one on the previous page) as to why, Hookshot < Blast Mask as far as Low% if we exclude New Wave Bossa.

There is one thing to put in that bottle that lets you drop multiple times: the Deku Princess.

Woot petrie and his mad MM skills. Still in the realms of the conversation and not realism, this would probably become more of a pain then Zora Mask though because you would have to back track from Woodfall to Great Bay and unless you're doing a 3-day run then there is no reason for backtracking.

Majora's Mask Megaflip?

I doubt it, but notice how link does a full flip which he normally does not in a recoil flip.
