In light of luiz's update to x1 for SDA, some of you should at least know of him.- this is out of date but he has two sda runs atm
Luiz is a some what unknown and unappreciated runner of ALL MMX games outside 7 & 8. Luiz plays at a professional level(i.e.WR Level play). All jokes aside, he needs to be brought to one of the marathons like the runners of JRTA, his skill level is off the charts and almost peerless in each MMX1,3,4,5 and damn good at 2,6 even 8.
Therefore, many speedrunners of the mega man x community have come together and opted to help get Luiz to get the much needed assistance he needs to attend Awesome Games Done Quick 2016(AGDQ 2016). For those who have attended even one of these events, the experience of being surrounded by people who share this same hobby is too much to describe. Its like Finding your long lost family you honestly never got to meet.
Similar to last years Japanese RTA marathon, Luiz lives in a country outside of the United States that would require an exceptional amount of money to even attend this event. In this past year at AGDQ, there was an immaculate showing of representatives from all of the mega man (classic) & other communities, and at AGDQ 2016 it would really solidify an ever growing community if one of its best representatives could attend as well. ( any and all spill over money is going to SGDQ fundraising)
In light of all of this it is my pleasure to announce sign-ups for "Luiz-A-Thon"!
The Marathon will consist of a host of games and runners from all venues, For game/runner information please read below and keep track of this thread for any information regarding the event.
this is also a proto-type for an event i think i will name the salt mine marathon, a place for all runs "too long" "too unknown" or any other reason a runner wouldnt be able to get a run into a GDQ. (i do this because i agree with how GDQ's are set up and to give the poor that cant make it there or are cut in favor of donation heavy games to preform and blow off steam)
Also this is a stream based marathon not a live event (for now) so no travel or major consideration need to be made on a runners part in that sense just a bit of time spent making sure your not rusty with your game and making sure you can run at a scheduled time and ill do my best to work it in everyone's favor.

The date for this will be September 18th and the following 72 hours (if possible) for the starting date. 18th as a starting day would be better due to SGDQ and the twitch con. We understand that this will take place only a month after SGDQ ends, so don't be discouraged about submitting because of possible unavailability or having your run cut early on in SGDQ. I will give everyone a fair shot at this (trust me, we all know how taxing a live marathon run can be, and would not hold it against you if you have to drop out)

i am still able to do dropouts and take more submissions now that im back from SGDQ 2015 so if there's anything plz let me know.
also luiz does have a PassPort now so there is a point to all of this i will be working the kinks out over the next few weeks but other wise we are ready to go. (his visa is still needed)
after doing my best to figure out what will be required in USD for luiz to go, i think around 4.1k is the max value we really need, i think we can work with much less but thats the goal i think should be aimed for and worse comes to worse we will donate the access proceeds to AGDQ in the honer of all the viewers. most of it is flight cost To AGDQ, the Visa and travel to where the area he can apply and get his visa.

The most important thing I can tell you is first and for most to stream your Game sound and Video, and as most of you will be handeling your own commentary as unfortunately, I am (and other restreamer) un familiar with several games or know you will handle commentating better then us, please stream that as well. I would like to try commentary GDQ style and have other runners at your request, where you can commentate and if you have others you would like to join feel free to give them the Team Speak info.

In team speak Use the Marathon room when running, and On Deck room when you run is coming up and wait for your run to start, plz try to be earily so there is no laps in content, I will adjust schedule as I can, to make sure you have a decent idea of when your turn Is coming up.
Also you will use The following Hit Box to Restream we will pull the runs as a window capture from these screens, as indicated on the back/ streamer schedule it will tell which runner is which and make it easier to stream line change over between runs and any races.
