difficult and stupidly random
Many of you have seen this already, but I figured I'd post here and spread the word for those who haven't. We (the guys who make TSSB) have recently begun a new show on twitch called SGL ("Speed Gaming League") where we get 4 players together to compete at speedrunning an assortment of games. It happens Thursdays at 9pm EST on http://twitch.tv/thesundaysequencebreak
We choose games that none of the players have speedrun before, and players are given a limited amount of time to learn the game and develop strategies. The goals are relatively short -- not the full game (typically 3-5 minutes, give or take). Each player learns 2 different games: The first one (the "Main" game) is determined 1 week in advance, so players will have ample time to practice. The second one (the "Mystery" game) is determined 1 hour in advance, so players will need to use some strategy in how they budget their practice time.
An episode is divided into a series of matches. In each match, the players are given 30 minutes to do as many attempts as they can of the given game/goal. Players can reset as much as they want. The best time at the end of the 30 minute period wins. So this is not really a race, but more of an RTA competition. The first 4 matches are 1-on-1 competitions between random pairings of players. Each player does 1 match of the Main game and 1 match of the Mystery game. Then the 5th and final match is a 4-way match between all the players (of the Main game, but using a goal that is different from the one people played earlier).
The show starts at 9pm EST on Thursday, however we ask that the players arrive at 8pm so they can get set up and test the software/stream. If you can't arrive exactly at 8, we may still be able to work around your schedule. Let me know and we'll try to figure something out.
Games are chosen by the players, based on a vote. The set of games that are available is determined by the producers of the show, but the final decision is up to the players. Right now we're just doing NES and SNES games, but we will likely expand to other older-console games in the future.
Here are some links to past episodes so you can get a sense for what is involved.

Requirements:
* Must be available Thursday night from 8-12 EST.
* Must be able to play on emulator (console is not acceptable due to our timing and verification process, not to mention differences in gameplay)
* Must have a computer (running Windows) that is good enough to run an emulator, capture a screen region, broadcast, and use Skype at the same time.
If you'd like to be a player on the show, please send me a PM on SDA or email us at tssbreak@gmail.com
You can use this thread to ask questions and discuss stuff, but make sure that you use either PM or email to sign up because I might not see your post if you only volunteer in this thread.
