Looking for a SNES controller(US, official kind)

I've ordered two Snes to GC adapters from retrozone for my WII where I speedrun x/x2, Also grabbing my two original european controllers from finland at summerhouse aswell as ordered two japanese famicom controllers from japangamestock.
Now here's the tricky part. I've read a lot about the minor differences in a US snes controller compared to eu/jp ones. ABXY buttons and whatnot and I really wanted to buy one of those just to have all 3 kinds for my own to test and see which one I end up preferring for speedrunning(wii pro classic controller is complete garbage as R button gave in 2 weeks after constant usage)

I dont care how used the controller is as long as it's in decent shape in form of responsiveness in all the buttons. Couldnt care less about cosmetic looks of the controller etc.

As a side note, If anyone knows a site in the US that ships to sweden and sells original SNES controllers(used ones as unused ones would cost me too much as of what im willing to pay at this moment) I'd be really happy if you'd share the site/s. Ebay and amazon is a no-no. Bad memoires from ebay and amazon doesnt show enough information about the controllers for me to be sure it's the real thing and not a knock off.

My SNES broke (brother stepped on it, hate him for that), so I have a lone controller with nothing to use it for. It's a little dirty (only a little), but the buttons aren't sticky at all, and they should work fine considering the controller's just been sitting around for months. I'll upload pics in a sec.

Strange... I've never heard of complaints about CC Pro's shoulder buttons. Infact, Mr K who speedruns Contra 3 preferred CC Pro over the SNES pad for that very reason. The only complaints I've heard are that some people dislike the D-pad for some games like Super Metroid. Have you considered just trying another CC Pro on the chance that the one you got was just faulty somehow? It seems like a really rare occurrence.

HELLO!

Given that I wore out my CCPro's D pad in about a month screen scrolling in Legend of Zelda, it doesn't surprise me if the buttons also have issues.

Well. my main reason for wanting snes controller over CC pro is the fact that the ABXY layout are too spread apart(mainly Y and A) for games such as megaman X speedrunning where I prefer to use default layout over dashing with say, R, which I have been for a few weeks.

@slowfreq I'd pick it up in a heartbeat but I gave in to a site i found the 20th and ordered one already sadly

HELLO!

I just measured it: the distance across from the left side of Y to the right side of A on my CC Pro is exactly the same as the width on my SFC controller and on my SNES controller: 1 7/16".

The only difference I can find is that the CC Pro and the SFC have four convex buttons, while the SNES controller has concave X and Y.

Hmm. I wonder why its easier for me to press Y B and A on my european snes controller then. Shape maybe?

The famicom/euro snes controller have different X Y buttons compared to the american one which I dont know can play a role too?

I tried holding it the way I hold a snes controller and im not able to get a comfortable grip on the CC pro (L,R,d-pad, Y,B,A

as far as the CCpro goes anyway, it's completely playable still with R-dashing. the controller as a whole is very decent. In a total run I can do what, close to a 1000 R clicks and maybe 5-10 of those are "missed dashes" in a run

A lot of this might come from me being fucked over from having used a 360 controller on emulator before i got my wii hooked up (regionswitch & correct VC game version)

I'll fool around and test controller out alongside CC pro when they arrive Smiley

It sounds like you've already bought something, but: the only functional difference between the US controller and the controllers you already own are the X and Y buttons being concave. Most people don't find this to be a big deal at all, and easily get used to either layout. The hardware is identical. For anyone else in your situation, it might not be cheap to find a good US controller and then have it shipped to Sweden (this costs about $12-13 for the slowest service).

The reason why some people say they prefer the SFC controller typically has to do with condition. It's not easy to find a really good SNES pad, and the d-pad is the first thing to go.
