I was thinking about doing a run on LocoRoco (PSP). It would require little to no planning, since the game is very linear. Also, I was thinking about either doing a segmented run or some individual level runs (or both). I already have a good recording method, so that won't be a problem.

Please post your thoughts on this!

I love this game, so if you really have an acceptable way to record it, I say go for it.
Alright! I'll get right to it. My first releases of video will be individual level runs at any%. I'll post them to YouTube first, and then try to get them put up on SDA. Wish me luck!
:wq
I was actually considering doing a 100% run of LocoRoco (all Pickories, berries, and Mui Mui per level).  There's a new hack for the PSP that lets you export the screen directly to the PC, allowing you to record digitally.

You need a PSP running OE firmware to do it though.

Check out the guide here.
100% runs=great to watch
Kickass development Sternn...perhaps it will turn the tide on the PSP population of SDA in the future until even better methods hopefully avail themselves.

Yeah... That's actually what I was already using to record. But thanks for mentionaing anyways.

Loco for LocoRoco!
OK... This is Reuben Bosch. I just created a new profile, and will be going by kingreuben from now on (sorry for the double post, but the forum doesn't allow guest posts to be modified).

Anyways, I have decided what I will do.
First, I am going to work on individual levels of LocoRoco at any% (doesn't matter how many pickories, LocoRoco, or Muimui I collect).
Second, I will work on individual levels at 100% (all LocoRoco, pickories, and Muimui).
Then, I will make a segmented run of the entire game all the way through at any%, and then one at 100%.

This order is tentative and can and probably will change. I'm going to start making videos today. I'll probably post them to YouTube first, and then try to get them put up on SDA.

Wish me luck!

The speedrun portion should be able to beat the time limits set once you find all 20 Loco Roco in a level, since the fastest way would almost certainly be able to beat them. I would be most interested in the 100% run, but even a speedrun would be enjoyable. Good luck!

Call me crazy, but I found those time limits to be nigh impossible to beat when I played  Tongue  Even on the first stage I had a problem with the locos getting split up, and then the camera would have trouble choosing which ones to focus on.

Loco for LocoRoco!
OK! I am currently uploading my first video to YouTube.
It is an any% run of the first level, World 1 Level 1.
After hundreds of attempts, I have finally managed to make a video that beats the level in less than one minute! The completion time is 59 seconds and 77 hundredths.
Although there are two spots where I make slight mistakes, the extremely optimized part where the LocoRoco fall down through the spinning flowers more than makes up for those.
I do believe that sub 59 seconds is possible, but I do not believe that sub 58 is possible. As soon as the video is available for viewing on YouTube, I'll post the link here, and you can tell me how you like it, how to improve it, etc.

EDIT: It's up on YouTube! You can go check it out now at

Enjoy!

Whew, good time. I can beat all the times on the game, but quite often I found that the fewer LocoRoco I have, the easier (the fewer of them that I need to reconnect after falling through stuff the better).

Alright! I'm glad you like it. I will start on the second level today or tomorrow.
CTTR Master and Spyro 2 Master
Whoa I just got this game and it's pretty fun but I can't get anywhere close to your times.
Loco for LocoRoco!
Hooray!
My second video is up and available for viewing on YouTube! You can check it out at
This is World 1 Level 2 at any%.
I was aiming to get below 1:45 on this level, and I succeeded. There are a few minor mistakes, but overall I am happy with the run.
The run time is 1:43:80.
Enjoy!
