I was just curious as to why there is no run on SDA yet? I've seen Cosmo do a 4:37:25 on his stream, and also has a 4:40:15 on Youtube. Did he just never submit or what? Thanks.
Dont know. Should ask the Zelda runners in the threads or ask them on IRC. Someone might have tried, but are unwilling to submit because they are unable to beat Cosmo. But that should not stop them, but I do understand why they dont submit if that is the case.
Actually, believe it or not, Cosmo's one submission to SDA was rejected. Having said that, a better run came out of it in the end, which is always the important thing.

i don't see a reason for him to not submit his TWW run since it's a really freaking good run that won't be one-upped instantly, but meh. His run.
1) Still improvable - The Savage Labyrinth section, Cosmo failed to skip the last important floor and had to deal with Darknuts. I heard there was one superswim spot that could be improved as well
2) Timing method - notice that the 3D Zelda games (OoT, MM and TWW) start their times as soon as you press A on starting up a file? The SDA timing method will make a notable difference on final time
So that 4:37:25 on TWW will be like a 4:32/4:33 when submitted to SDA. Because SDA start its timing as soon as you gain control of the main character.

Ignore style; let runners worry about that. Describe mistakes in terms of lost time, and base your decision on how much potential improvement there is and how hard it would be to implement. Improvements of existing runs should generally be accepted unless there's a severe decrease in overall play quality. Assume the run you have in front of you is the only submission SDA will receive for a long while; even if you expect someone to submit a better time next week, don't let that influence your decision.
I wonder how many good runners from the SRL half have read the bold text.

There was an inaugural run of TWW by Marshmallow that had been beaten but the run that beat it was taken down after there was some "cheating" discovered in some of his other runs. It was suggested to put Marshmallow's run back on the game page but I guess they either forgot, couldn't find it or decided not to.
I think what he meant is that Marshmallow's run could have been put back up after TSA's got taken down, but for whatever reason the page just got nuked instead.
This is one of the silly side effects of competitively running a popular game - it's not just that Cosmo is likely to beat that run soon, it's that with many people doing it, others (say demon9) could break it as well. And if everyone just submitted their great runs, you'd wind up with constantly competing runs being submitted obsoleting each other during the verification process.
The end result is no one submits, which is a no-win either.
We would love to have an up-to-date WW run, but somebody will have to submit one first and for some reason or another people who run zelda games don't tend to submit to SDA

Yeah... The page got nuked... But as for the actual page itself, it isn't really "Dead Dead"
Through the powers of the Wayback machine, here is a copy of the former page. Sadly, it doesn't go back far enough when Marshmallow's run was on the site (if it ever was added). Still, for that former run to have been done back in 2005, it would be pretty difficult to find it now after all this time if no one had a copy of it way back in the day.
Still, we could remedy this if someone out there tries to submit another run of wind waker. Hopefully Cosmo might reconsider trying again.
Yeah we must not have had it. Even if he resubmitted it though it would be a rejection by today's standards, though, so we'll have just to wait patiently for Cosmo or someone else to submit.
