Even if nobody cares so did I say that I would do a speedrun on Link's Awakening a while ago. But I have got some problems of getting a Game Boy Player so I haven't got any time when I could record it. Or els I had sent the movie in a lonhg time ago!
So I have started to train on a 100% run instead of a regular.
1. Must I take all the seashells or just 20 so I can get the sword?
2. Am I allowed to use the thief trick?
Any help is thankful :).
Thread title:
yes ure allowed to use the theif trick. At least TSA did in his DX run.
Yes, but that was not in a 100%...
The Thief Trick should be accepeted, because it's not some sort of glitch or something game breaking, it was programmed into the game, so its fair game, if you asked me.
Oh well, I shall use the thief trick anyway. When I read about the bounties that TSA gives for some Speedruns I thought  that he had wrote that it wasn't allowed. I don't care about the bounty but I shall still do the run.
I shall see what time I can get this weekend. As soon as I get a Game Boy Player I will record it and send it in.

You're mixing up acroynms there (not that I can blame you for mizing up acroynms)... TSA is simply the nick of a speedrunner (the most prolific Zelda runner ever), while TG, Twin Galaxies, is another site that dabbles in speed runs (its inital focus was arcade high scores). TG is the one offering the monetary bounties. TG also tends to make rules for individual games that are sometimes a little loopy... they banned the Theif trick for regular, but not DX.

(BTW, is it just me or is it really hard to navigate TG's site? I gave up trying to figure out where the rules for LA were listed...)

Yoshi: no, it's TSA, not TG.. TSA is giving out bounties too.
