Well, you should've expected that world 6 after playing Dededetour =p
In my playthrough, world 6 took almost 50 mins, while the others were between 10 and 15 =p

Edit: I was going to suggest mixing for hammer in 1-4 to get a faster flowery woods, but eh.. I got about 55-56s. It has more HP than in Arena BibleThump

Well, level 6 in dededetour has every extra level (so it includes 1-e, 2-e, 3-e, 4-e, 5-e, then all levels in world 6) so it would take forever in that mode Tongue

If you could get faster flowery woods times with hammer, it could be worth it in any%; you can get parasol at the start of 2-1 for mobility, then use it to kill grand wheelie and get wheel.

Also anwonu, it'd be nice if you put all of your sun stone timings onto some google spreadsheet Smiley

I'm actually not saving all times, especially the ones that take too long.
Anyway, I have saved all of them for w5 and 6 now.

So, for w5 and w6:
5-1 A - key; ~17, but we also grab a candy
5-1 C? - possible with wing, but a bit slower than others; ~13-14
5-2 A - down through water after star; ~13
5-3 B - destroy top block with dynamite; ~11
5-3 C - top door during last "crush" part; ~1-2?
5-4 C - between lava waterfalls; ~1 if we get there as soon as possible, since we still need to wait for the other waterfall
5-4 D - after miniboss
5-5 A, B, C, D - left, left, right IMO
We just need 9, so we should disconsider one of the non-?; 5-1 A seems the slowest to get, but candy helps so much, especially against mr frosty
Another thing: maybe getting hammer before pyribbit may be worth it; there's a birdon in 3rd room of 6-1 (1st room is just stars, 2nd has wind to help you)

6-1 A - under gray blocks; ~6
6-1 C - destroy tank; ~11
6-3 A? - complete snowmen (man & woman); ~27, probably not worth it
6-3 B - lava area, tube; ~17+
6-4 A? - after flowery woods, after cannons, go left instead of warp; ~20
6-5 A - top right warp, cannon + key; 10-15?
6-5 C - defeat 1st mr frosty, then get star; ~9
6-5 D? - defeat the 3 wheelie minibosses; ~17?
Once again, maybe getting hammer helps for last bosses? Leave the room with bonkers for last, then last room is just some walking before hyper nova.

Did you consider 2-1B with wing or wheel? In case you didn't try, it's possible to get it with wing (way easier to just feather gun it from the right side, then condor head in the background)

As for pyribbit, I tested it for all sun stones already. Hammer saves 5 seconds on pyribbit, including the hub, versus keeping wing. I didn't test how much time hammer loses at the first two rooms of 6-1 versus keeping wing, because my all sun stones route goes to 5-E right after, which gets wheel at the end (which saves a few seconds over wing at the start of 6-1). So anwonu, you can probably start with testing hammer vs wing in the start of 6-1; if hammer loses less than 5 seconds, then it's likely worth using hammer on pyribbit.

Also, hammer is definitely better at the first half of the set of final fights. However, wing can hit a lot of the flower petals during the latter phases while they're attacking a bit more easily than hammer.

2-1 B was with wing.
So is the mix on 1-3 useless then? lol

About 2s difference between wing and hammer on 6-1 until birdon (counting the time to transform to wing), so yeah, I guess hammer is good.

No idea =p; I actually like the idea of keeping fire as long as we can, but some stages have less straight stages that makes fire a bit less good. if you like wing, or some other power that you can't get yet, it's probably fine to get it there as well.

I might do a test run tomorrow if I find the time. I predict I'll lose wing a lot.

Edit: So I created the spreadsheet with timings and stuff. Most of the timings are probably inaccurate and stuff, but eh. if you want to edit, ask me to add you as an editor.
Another thing is that there are 2 sheets; the 2nd is for Dededetour warp locations. I don't know shit about it, so I'll edit it slowly. Or not, dunno.

So, now that i've more or less timed w1 SSs, we can see the problem with the last SS: if we don't grab either, we can use candy speed until the area after 1-4 C SS. If we get one of those, we won't be able to get as far. So we either trade that speed for one of those SS, or choose another one (like 1-1 B). Candy speed is very OP, so getting 1-1 B doesn't sound bad.

Edit2: In Dededetour, while it seems the game saves your best total time, the "Best Time" section only shows your sum of best. Is there any place where it shows that best total time? (Besides the final screen or the continue, since both can be missed later if you start a new run)

Okay, so here's a question I have for anyone who knows. If you have a new game and you just finish level 6-5, then you're at the final boss. If you beat Masked Dedede and the first phase of sectonia, is it possible to quit (outside of gameovering) then go back to the level?

I know if you've already beaten the level, you can just jump straight to sectonia.

If this is possible then the all sun-stones route would get hammer at the end of level 6-5, beat masked dedede and the first sections of sectonia, get wing from the hub, then quit and beat the two extra levels in world 6.

EDIT: Actually that wouldn't really be faster because there's a hothead in the room with SS#1 in level 6-7... still would be nice to know though

And now for a few notes that I've learned:

-For the red eel enemies during the hypernova sections, sucking them in isn't about how much you pull them, but rather how far away you already are. So just be at the right spot after luring them to try to chomp you, then start inhaling; if its eyes turn into X's immediately, you're far enough and can start moving towards it (since you'll start eating it)
-I've done this for a while now, but anwonu wasn't doing this on his stream so I figured it'd be a good idea to point this out. Condor Head in this game has a crapton of hitlag upon destroying enemies+blocks unlike in KRtDL which is annoying. So a lot of times, you're better off doing a combo dive before enemies/blocks to avoid that hitlag. You don't really slow down much, and it's faster than plowing through with condor head and dealing with the hitlag.
-Doing dive bombs for downward movement is pretty much never worth it (unless doing it out of a condor head) because fastfalling exists.

Has anyone figured out which path is faster in level 6-3, with the second wrecking ball? The top path leads to some circus area with a bunch of door, the bottom path doesn't :S

I'm pretty sure bottom path is faster. Top has 2 rooms, bottom has only 1 where you just float straight up.

So, am I allowed to ask if there's anyone here still running this (specifically dededetour) and what I can do to really get started, or... eheh... *awkwardly rubs neck*
CHOKES
No. How dare you.

Can't say I am, but I guess you could watch some videos and such. There are some videos on speedrun.com .
You can also train yourself. You can train a certain part over and over, as long as you don't touch the next save point.
