I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

I'm gong to stream my first Kingdom Hearts 2 SS beginner any% attempt tonight live at 6:00 PM Central Time. My goal is to eventually get 4:25, although tonight may or may not become just practice. Not sure I completely remember everything about the new route. However, I will stream again in the afternoon tomorrow and much more starting next week.

I'm definitely curious to see this new route - the best SS Beginner any% I've gotten to date with a PS2-Slim is 4:38 (sadly, not recorded), with probably ~6-7 minutes lost to mistakes and bad Xigbar luck.

I'm going to be out tonight but will hopefully be back in time to catch the last hour or so of the run.

I'm still casually working on it, I'll record formally over the summer, still working on my route.

I hate to be a debby downer, but in the case of such a large bounty I am a bit of a skeptic. Do you have any reasonable sort of proof that you really intend to pay up? Again, I hate to be that gay, but I don't really know you and dislike trusting on blind faith.

Unfortunately, I've sort of pulled out of the running for making the 100% run myself. I'm more than happy to help FlamingMage or anyone else with strats, but I'm afraid that farming Synthesis Items just killed my desire for wanting to make it. A Single Segment run of this would run over 14 hours or so at least, and a good segmented run of this would require doing just about nothing but segment attempts for the next 5 months to try and make the September time limit, and to be honest there are a lot of other things I want to focus on. If you just want a run, regardless of quality you could crank out an insanely long SS in literally 14-17 hours with minimal planning, but again, a good segmented run that SDA would actually accept would need to be worked on hardcore for the entire summer, and probably start now.

Again, I'll hepl whoever wants to know strats for the, and post videos for testing and whatnot, but I won't put up a sub-par run just for cash. and I can't dedicate the kind of time ot making this run over the next 5 months. Sorry.

I'll make another attempt tonight around 11:30 PM Central Time. I'll also make attempts Firday and Saturday, not sure when though. I have theos days off from work, so I would really like to finish this run this weekend, but I guess we'll just have to see. Hope to see you all there!

Good news/bad news time.

In my recording last night, I was able to get a 4:26:03 real time, however, by SDA timing the run was actually about a 4:24:45. There we're a host of problems with the run, so the run could definitly be improved, however I was still considering sending this one in, just because it met my time goal. But........

I have two major problems with the recording(note, I've already encoded the low quality/Medium Quality versions of the run, so these problems are from the final recordings, however I noticed the problem last night.

1.The big one, my Amarec JUST STOPS RECORDING at many points throughout the process of the run. Real time, the run was about 4:26 at final blow, however the vidoe only cotained about 4:17 of that chunk of time by the final blow, so I lost about 9 minutes of footage. I would notice about 4 or 5 times throughout the process of the run that my screen would go black(not due to hibernation, it would just turn black), and it would come back after about 5 or 10 seconds, however my internet explorer(which only has my Twitch page up) would be just a white screen, however, when I would bring my Amarec back up, it looked fine. Every time this would happen, there would be a text box that came up in the bottom right of my computer screen that states my Display Driver had crashed and needed to reset. I don't remember exactly what it said, but it was something in the way of Display Driver... etc. etc.

Obviously this sucks, but do any of you have problems with this yourself? Is my Graphics card possibly not strong enough? The only things I have running on my computer while streaming are my XSplit, WSplit(Timer), AmarecTV, and my Twitch page.

2. The other problem is that I'm getting no Audio out of my Amarec right now. Oozaroo1, who helped me set up my Amarec, told me that I could just keep the Audio on the Amarec on Mute, and that wouldn't effect the final recording. However I'm getting no Audio either way. I was able to get Audio from this about a week ago, but I un-muted my Amarec and I have my Game footage going right now, and I'm still getting no Audio, and no Audio at all from the run last night, which I encoded and have up in VLC Player right now.

Can anyone help me out with these problems? I'll also post this in the Tech Support forum.

Sorry I cannot help you about the recording issue, but I did do some research about the missing XP. I am Meleeace1478 on Twitch.

Your XP after 1k heartless.

end 1k heartless- lvl 29 3753 away
end port royal- lvl 30 5468 away
end HT- lvl 30 4476 away

start ruin escape lvl 30 1315 away
end ruin escape lvl 31 1103 away

I watched your beginner segmented run and compared the amount of XP gained from the ruins escape portion on each. Note, your segmented run was almost a whole level higher and since I could not find a chart of level up XP values, I had to estimate it from the game, which is hard since I would not know what on screen XP had been counted already when the XP in the upper left displays the first time after a level up.

Segmented Run: Start Ruin escape at lvl 31, 2473 away. End lvl 32, 1689 away.

According to my calculations, on your segmented run you got ~9202 XP from the ruin escape, and in your SS attempt, you got ~7775. There are a couple of times where the XP gain isn't exactly the same in both runs, those differences may be the reason that you were 1103 XP away.

Thought I'd post this new strat for The Experiment that I accidentally discovered when doing a casual All Worlds run on stream. Luck and execution on the 1st break-apart phase were both pretty bad; but when attacking after it reformed, using jump attacks during the cooldown period for Genie's Sonic attack to keep it staggered ended up skipping the 2nd break-apart phase. Next time I do this I'll try popping an Ether after Genie wears off and try to finish it right there with a Knocksmash.

I think the same person who did the Level 1 and Any Level Critical Mode runs for Final Mix on Nico did a new one with a time of 4:49 recently. Part 7 just got uploaded today and it goes up to the 1000 Heartless Battle.

Surprised to see Critical Mode's time get shaved down so much

Nice progress! For a segmented run of a largely skill/execution-based game like KH2 I'd definitely try to optimize the battles a bit more - I was working on a segmented Beginner mode run earlier this year (before losing interest due to the new SS-safe Genie summon strats being better than the riskier Drive/Limit strats I was planning - the next serious KH2 run I do will probably be on Final Mix+ to give the site something different).

When I was working on this segment I was able to beat Hayner and Vivi in about 30 seconds each (Vivi would be a little slower in Standard/Proud due to him having more HP, but I'd still imagine at least 20-25 seconds could be saved). This video shows the general idea, though the Vivi and Dusks fights aren't that great.

Also, in Standard mode it should be possible to lose to Setzer without having to wait the full minute, by getting him to deplete your HP.
