This game saves your best time on each level, which is pretty neat. However, does anyone know if it actually works (hah)? The reason I ask is because I did half-a$$ speedrun on the level "Freight Elevator" (Chapter 8) and I'm pretty sure I got 46 seconds, IIRC. Later, I decided to try a more serious run and make a video of it, but even though I'm pretty sure I'm at least slightly faster, it still says 46 seconds. Hm.
Anyway, here's a vid of one of my run attempts on "Recruit" difficulty just to show something:
Those who are familiar with the game might see that I don't take the optimal route (I think). The reason for this is because your character can only run fast for a certain time and you'll have to wait to regain your stamina; however, if you take the same route as I did the fast sprint cancel while you jump down at the ladder, and then the character will start sprinting again when you land with full stamina and you can run all the way to the elevator. Pretty sure that's how it works.
What difficulty do you guys think is best suited for speedrunning this game? I vote Recruit; a higher difficulty would probably not allow much enemy skipping, but maybe I'm wrong. Btw, I beat this game TODAY for the first time, so I'm definitely not an expert.
Edit: Just realized I might be pretty stupid: You can just jump to make your stamina bar recharge.. I think. *slaps self*. Will try to beat that 46 seconds but I won't record it since my camera is currently out of batteries.
Edit2: I just got 36 seconds, wow! Will try for 34-35 when camera battery is full. Also, the game might not restart the timer if you press "Restart from checkpoint", you may have to press "Restart section" instead. Just throwing it out there.
