ok... well... this site seems to have a proboard look to it... which doesnt bug me... but im sure a vb or something would bring more attention to this site for those appearence whores... that needs that thing that catches there eye.... so i was wondering if there was any donation spot... where ofcourse needs to be garenteed the money is only spent on the sites suroundings... and is there any thought of upping the board background...

or is this a specail server and lookor what not...if it is no disrespect... im just curious... theres seems to be many many active people on the site... and it could expand past that....

with a different look....

I'm addicted to games
I thought of having a logo design contest at some point... but then I decided that I'd probably never be happy with something that people came up with. I prefer to leave the current logo as a tribute to the site's origins in Quake.

As for "upping the board background" ... is this a complaint about the color or something?

i guess you could call it a complaint about color and look all around... its looks like those free proboard sites.... maybe if you were to make a skin for the look or something...i dont the look is plain,...which personally doesnt bother me... but im sure its turned many members awahy...ive seen it on other sites...

and the banner is fine...i enjoy the banner...

Hey. Personally, I like the "plain" look. The less time spent waiting for a page to load, the better for me (and my pathetic 28,800 bps connection).

There is nothing wrong with the forum, but you should probably, in the near future, upgrade to a php style site since that would be really well suited for what SDA is, or at least implement a new organization of the site (which I know you said, but re-stating it so people who don't know you said that now know).

The darker colors are easier on the eyes. Reading a white piece of paper is different than reading a white computer screen.

For the banner, how about a new one that still features Quake?

I like an efficient design better than something colourful where the eye is distracted easily. And just because I have broadband it doesn't mean I like to get a few megs of fancy images to get access to the board.

And attention seems to be enough of anyway. 700+ registered users on the board, and growing.
