Fight, Crocogator, for everlasting peace!
I demand proper documentation for this thing. I swear, I've never been able to figure out how the blue hell you're supposed to use it. There's no explanation in the readme, certainly. A graphical explanation wouldn't hurt.

Trying to get it to work with VBA right now. All I wants to do is map the save/load state buttons to my gamepad. Had the hankerin' to play through the old GB Castlevania games (Good LORD, those are some SLOW-moving vampire hunters! O_o) but... meh.

I don't suppose anyone's had experience with this kinda thing, huh? Being this is a gaming forum, I figured I'd take the chance and at least ask. Couldn't hurt. :/

Used it for half a year without problems. Just start it, double-click the button on the gamepad in the list you want to map and then press the key on the keyboard. Easy as pie.
...
Try JoyToKey instead. Much easier to use, at least for me...

...don't tell me...

Gnn.

Joy2key. JoyToKey.

I have the latter. I thought he was talking about the same thing.

As said, get JoyToKey instead, works wonders:

Same thing. At least, according to the two zips I have sitting on my desktop. That and then the other, named Joy-2-Key, both have the exact same program in 'em. Maybe it was just someone being lazy (who can't type out ONE more key?!) or something.

Argh, I STILL can't figure out how the crap to work this damn thing. Some helpful documentation would be NICE! -.-

So what the hell do I do?! What I'm doing right now IS:

Double-clicking option1 (LEFT)
Enter the left arrow key.
Click OK
Double-click option1 again.
Highlight selection 2 (below the left arrow key entry)
Tap left on my analog stick.

Repeat for the directional buttons.

Then comes the fun. JoyToKey accepts the four face buttons... but none of the 4 shoulder buttons, not any of the three buttons in the middle of the controller, where Select and Start would be on, say, an SNES controller, etc. And before ANYONE asks, my controller's buttons All. Work. FINE.

Moreover, how the hell do I set up VBA?! Do I enter KEYBOARD KEYS for everything? Do I enter GAMEPAD things for everything?

There's no way to know wtf to do if you freakin' just download and try working it the HELL out! I'm getting seriously pissed off trying to get the god damn thing up and running again, and I'm just about ready to call the damn mess off. -.- This is ridiculous, it really is. There should be NO reason at all for this program to be THIS difficult to use.

I don't get it. At all.

Are you sure you are changing the right pad? I had problems until I realized I was mapping buttons to my Nostromo n52 Speedpad instead of to my PS2 pad.

Since JoyToKey works by letting your joypad emulate a keyboard, I can't see your problem... I've never found ANY problems with it, my PS2 pad accepts any input I give it... I even use it with my dance mat to get StepMania to cooperate.
