Well I am supposing that JoeQuake is software Quake and all versions of software quake lock up on my system/overspeed unless I boot into DOS. Odd, isn't it?

Win98 is probably old yeah, but still better than that shit XP...
Linux version is under progress, I'm planning to make svgalib, X11 and GLX versions, but svgalib at least

Win98 is the only decent thing if you want to run "older" games on a PC. I've tried running XP, WinME, Win2000 etc, but I've always re-installed Win98 again. It's the only system that feels right to me.

And GL JoeQuake locks the system for me too. The regular JoeQuake executable runs fine though.

I too time with 98 and XP, XP doesn't die (unless you dont' have patches for worms Wink ) and 98 runs old stuff

ME is definately the worst tho

Double click on joequake-gl.exe

As it's starting up you can see that it successfully notices I have a Riva TNT card

Select "single player" "new game"
                      or
Select "console" "playdemo xxxxx"

The game goes to a "full screen console" as it loads the map and prints the name of the map (eg "Introduction").... then just stays like that forever.

If I alt-tab back to windows and look at the process it's listed as "glquake (not responding)"
