Only difference is that on the PAL version of the Sega GT bundle you're unable to play on PAL 50, that's all.

Police skip in Rokkaku-Dai Heights? Tokyo Underground Sewage skip? I can't wait to see Jet Set Radio Future on SDA.

The 2:04:49 was a nice surprise for me, though I had hoped for the final save time to be shown (it wasn't).

I think though that, since Tokyo Underground can be skipped, the graffiti soul there can be obtained on the way to Kibogaoka Hill in Ch. 4, rather than on the way to Bottom Point in Ch. 3.

I don't think collecting the soul at either point makes a difference, but I was thinking of replacing that soul with one in the underground sewage facility, and the one next to the save point in the sewers would become a back-up soul If I ended up missing one in the run.

Sorry if this has already been answered in the thread, but is there any sort of difference between the Sega GT bundle and the Standalone? Load times, can placement, etc.

Also, besides what Hiipfire said about the PAL version of the bundled disc, the NTSC-U and PAL versions have slower loading times and more lag at points compared to the stand alone. It is like 4 seconds per loading time, which adds up to be multiple minutes taken off the run. Also as everyone knows, playing on 360 with any disc of JSRF is bad. With all of this being said, it is also safe to assume that the NTSC-J bundled disc would be slower if they have one.

So if I understand correctly; Standalone on original Xbox is fastest?

Correct. I would recommend running on that version, because You'll lose a significant amount of time if you are not playing on the stand alone on the original Xbox. The disc is pretty cheap if you can't manage to find it locally, I think I got mine off of amazon for like maybe 12 bucks.
Just bumping this thread. There is a new category that has been routed called "Tapes, Challenges and Souls" or "Souls%" It consists of collecting all default souls, all mystery tapes, finishing all of the challenges and collecting all of the challenge souls. It is basically getting all collectables within the first play through of the game. Right now I have a 3:05:17 in this category, and I think sub 3 would be a pretty good time with the current route, but I think some of the levels can be re-worked to make sub 3 more attainable. Here is the link to the run http://www.twitch.tv/urboygraham/c/3838020 I haven't done tons of attempts yet, but I want to try and bring this category down to a sub 2:55 (Right now I don't think that is possible until I can find faster routes for the levels, I feel like the overall route is pretty good for the most part, so it might not even go that low.)
Just got a 2:03:49 in Any% after not doing it for a while, a minute improvement over my last time. I know there were people last time who were interested in seeing the in-game time after the last save, so I made sure to leave that in as well. At this point I think the best possible time for any% would be a a low 2:02 to a high 2:01 on a perfect run. Enjoy. http://www.twitch.tv/urboygraham/c/3850580
Bumping the thread to say I got a 2:01:48 any% run. The run was pretty much as perfect as I could get it at the moment. My sum of best is currently a 2:00:30 but that might be with a few errors in splitting. I'm assuming if I had a standalone copy of the game sub 2 hours could probably be possible with an absolutely perfect run. Also like what Graham did with his PB I saved after the credits to show the game time as well, which was a 2:20. I'm probably going to work on 100% now with rueake if he also wants to do it. http://www.twitch.tv/fingerquick/c/4884874

bumping to say that cchun89 got a new time of 2:01:22. His sum of best is nearly three minutes under 2 hours so it's very likely that JSRF will be under 2 hours soon. http://www.twitch.tv/cchun89/c/5532651

Sub 2 hours is now a reality, bought a standalone copy of the game and was able to play it yesterday and today and ended up with 1:59:55. The time is still able to go lower and I would say the next major milestone is under 1:59. cchun89 is probably going to try taking the time back, so if anyone is interested in JSRF be sure to check him out http://www.twitch.tv/cchun89

bumping to say theres a new time for JSRF any% of 1:58:47 by YayodelaRiva. It's a really nice time that broke my previous record by more than a minute and his sum of best is around the same time as cchun89's, which is around 1:56:30. At this point in time I would say anywhere under 1:56 is the new sub 2:00 which would be crazy optimized.

Huge bump here to say that Zulbull got the first sub 1:50 any% run with a time of 1:49:50. There has been a lot of new stuff found in the last six months or so that was able to push the time down by nearly ten minutes.

There was an out of bounds found in rokkaku-dai heights that allowed us to skip the poison jam race in chuo street which ended up saving around two minutes.

There was a skip found in 99th street that allowed us to not have to do a cop fight on the dark side and save around 30-40 seconds. This skip is probably the easiest of the recently found skips since all it requires you to do is overlap Professor DJ's dialogue with the cop dialogue in the center near the dragon. To do this you have to swap characters at the save point which manages to replay cop dialogue and then skate down to the bottom of the dragon to trigger Professor DJ's text.

There was also a skip found in Kibogaoka Hill by abusing the cop dialogue to skip a helicopter fight and only have to circle around the map once instead of twice saving upwards of a minute. This is kinda like the dialogue reset in 99th street except much harder and more precise on timing.

It's crazy to think that this game is now under 1:50 when about a year ago we didn't even think that sub 2:00 was possible. At this point in time I would say a sub 1:49 time would be really good. You can watch Zul's run here: http://www.twitch.tv/zulbull/v/14397870
Nice. I had a feeling that there would be more skips.

I hope to see more great strats later on.
ok, now this is epic
