i just beat this game today (on xbox). i don't really want to do this run, but someone else should (NES jaws is lonely).
it's pretty easy when you know what to do. despite that, i would suggest segmented or level runs because of how glitchy it can be at times.
skipping all the side challenges wouldn't effect your shark development that much (especially if you ignore raising the hunger category).
this game has some of the funniest cinematics of any games i've seen. sadly, you'd have to skip them
