I'm not sure if there's already a discussion going on about this, but I figured I'd start one anyway.

To my knowledge, there's only one major difference and one minor difference between the PS2 and PS3 version.

In the PS3 version, the bad part is that the save/load glitch no longer works in Gol and Maia's Citadel (or maybe I was doing something wrong? not that it's hard to pull off, just don't want to take out that possibility) and the one minor difference I  mentioned was that getting the Flut-Flut out of the barrier in Snowy Mountain works differently (still not sure what spot exactly, but if you try to get out like you normally would, you instead get launched up. No fall damage though.)
Also, I'm probably wrong, but I believe the PS3 version is faster. I haven't actually timed it yet, but it certainly does feel that way when going from the PS3 to PS2, I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Anyway, anyone else find anything in the PS3 version of TPL that could hinder or help a speedrun?

Doesn't prevent anyone from running the HD version, but every speedrunner prefers to play on PS2 because of this.
I am pretty sure Jak 3 is faster on PS3 but since the punch glitch is something that happens like what linkinito posted, it is preferred that you run on ps2. The punch glitch does not matter at all in jak1 or 2 however, it just doesn't really make a difference or is even noticeable. and for jak1 i don't think there would be anything that is faster on ps3...there is really no reason why it would be.  and yes s+l glitch does not work on ps3 so you are forced to do no s+l runs on ps3, and fortress skip also apparently does not work because loading things is faster on ps3.

I can confirm that Jak 1 is slower on PS3, because of autosave and whatnot. Jak 2 and 3 are harder, but are really dumb because of the Punch Glitch, that i explained in the video linkinito linked.

If you only have the ps3 version, i would recommend practicing on it, it probably isnt that bad of an idea. But get the ps2 version asap
