For submission and verification of a run, maybe you should read the submission page. Maybe you'll want to read the knowledge base for a few pointers on encoding and, most importantly, what quality videos you should make (LQ, MQ, HQ and possibly IQ, though I don't think that's really necessary for this game).

I was wondering: how do you cancel a burst so that you don't trigger an enemy response?

Right-Click(or anything else that your mouse uses) while the Character is firing with a burst! Just walking somewhere works too!

The quality of the lousy compression is more like HQ not IQ because some stuff cannot be seen like the map or anything else!
Videos uploaded to Filefront named "lousy compression" is the best I have! The Compressed are encoded as Xvid/MP3!!!
And one more thing the song at the end of the compressed movie is call gol_random a song from Toby of Fruity Loops!
Actually it's more like NQ. It's 20fps and there are many visible blocks.

I never even knew this game series existed. Downloading the videos now to check quality.
I guess this game requires a rerun. Only recently did I find out about this method of winning the game. I don't want to spoil the fun, although the video creator already says what he did.


Question is, if getting a Merc become a POW that gets interrogated is possible without conquering prison sectors of Tixa(J9) or/and Alma's Military headquaters. If not, this would be a slower method of speedrunning the game.
After a quick bit of googling, one walkthrough says you only need to put on the T-shirt and enter some combat - you will then be given the opportunity to surrender.

So I guess you stealth / rush the shirt factory in the middle of Drassen which I think has a couple of those shirts? (I'm not sure though...)
From what I understand, the T-Shirt guarantees that the enemy will ask you to surrender, but it is not a prerequisite for being interrogated in N7.

There is supposed to be T-Shirts sold in Cambria and Estoni, but it might only be in v1.13, which is unofficial. So a detour to Drassen would be a pain.
Sign... it is not worth it. The prison escape quest in Alma has to be completed, only then any captured mercs are sent to interrogation. I looked at the source code of Jagged Alliance 2 Gold.

Would have been so much fun. Sure I guess you could still have one merc thrown in Alma prison, then quickly rescue the merc, while another has already set a trap for the Queen. But I doubt it would be faster than the current run.

Lol, I actually found a way to complete the prison rescue/escape mission without doing the rescuing. When a POW is in I13(Alma prison) a dialog pops up stating that POW mercs are there. The quest is marked complete when there are no more POW mercs in the area when the player leaves with active mercs.

All seems correct, except for the fact that you can do "Remove merc" in map view on POWs while that quest is in progress. Once that is done, the merc squad can make contact with soldiers and surrender, without even leaving the area. This marks QUEST_HELD_IN_ALMA as complete and initiates the QUEST_INTERROGATION scene.

Well from what I have tested, I have been unable to regain control of the Merc while the interrogation is going on. Some control is regained when an NPC talks, like changing stance and toggling stealth mode, but not enough to hit an NPC. I can even get into options and save the game, but that save game gets broken since the hourglass lasts forever without any control other than to exit the game.

By using cheats I have found out that I need to either initiate a turn based mode, which would interrupt the interrogation, when the queen or joe want to move, but can't since it is not their turn. Or get into the map screen and save the game there, then when loading it, the interrogation all gets interrupted and I have full control.

But even with full control, killing the Queen with just fists takes quite some time. Even more interesting is that if you fire a gun at her, she often initiates turn based mode and kills the shooter with some powerful gun. I guess you could use up to 8 mercenaries to do the punching. Cheesy

And the original explosive trap plan is hard to do as well. First it is hard to get to that spot without wirecutters and mines are very hard to come by. Timed bombs are removed when leaving the sector.
