I have a Mac and no PCs so I think it will be difficult to start.  I found an emulator for GBA called "Boycott Advanced" and was wondering if that is one I can use to speed run.  If its not, where am I able to find one that I can use for speed running on a Mac?  Also, since I own a Pokémon Emerald game pak, is it ook for me to use a rom instead of my actual GBA due to no way to record it?  And one more thing, can someone suggest a segment capture program that works on a Mac?  Thank you for your feedback :3

I'm not a 100% if SDA accepts emulator runs nowadays, but the way to record and submit GBA runs is using a Gameboy Player with a Gamecube, and recording that footage. But if you're talking about speedrunning and streaming, then I'm a 100% sure you can use an emulator to do it : )

Emulator runs are not allowed on SDA. Though yes, if the emulator is accurate enough and the community for that game accepts it there shouldn't be a problem.

To clear this up:
In order to have the run accepted on SDA, it must be played on original hardware, or using an official reissue.
If you plan on only getting a time accepted by the community surrounding the game, emulators may or may not be allowed, you need to look it up for that specific community.
Ok, thank you very much for your feedback.  I guess I'm off to amazon to buy a gamecube and a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance System Link Cable! Cheesy
