Thread title:
Still alive...
If this is true. I'm going to buy a Revolution.
The BaldurManiac
if you want FPS games just get a computer already....
Sleeping Terror
Looks like he's holding a standard air mouse. The Revolution controller will be like that, but better.

Is any of that mouse-controller action transferable to the Rev?
If so, Nintendo's got a new market for the fps.

I hope that was just a crappy player and not crappy controls. :-[
Speed is the key.
I knew that the controllers could be used like that...
But i didn´t know about that video though, thx for that.

Yes, all that and more is transferable to the Rev.  Remember, the Revolution is going to be able to sense distance and tilt of the controller as well, which can add more nuances to the schemes than we're used to.  As far as sensitivity goes, it certainly looked responsive enough, but even if it isn't, Nintendo's controller will likely be tweaked to perfection.
I hope there will be a sensitive setting option, like on some game on the DS (Example GoldenEye Rogue Agent)

Nintendo Revolution Mockup

I'm going to wait till I get an official source, before making any judgements... Smiley
PwNzRd!
They're right. It's basically an air mouse... for consoles...
I agree, i'll wait until I have an official source before i make any comments.
like cranky kong, but not as nice
well, it says it's a mock-up, so i don't believe it

What I found odd in that video is that Nintendo has described a "nunchuck" style controller for FPS, with the "remote" portion being the "gun" and sensing motion, while the add-on will be a thumbstick for movement.
The video has the thumbstick addon being moved for changing the view, while the controller is held statically, exactly the opposite of what Nintendo has described.  (If I understand them correctly.)
ouch!
i still don't see how you can strafe jump with that kind of a controller haha.
DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2.  Am I crazy?
Why would someone be playing HL2 in a Nintendo console? It would be more believable if it were Metroid Prime.
Speed is the key.

Maybe you use the buttons?  Roll Eyes
ouch!

yeah? i suck at using n00bsticks, so to hold forward and then alternate left and right strafe while alternating looking left and looking right is pretty hard to do for me with something like an xbox controller, actually it seems impossible but i would like to see it done haha.
XXY
The only true strafe jumping is in Quake and Half-Life <_<;
Yoshi's eggs are at my mercy!
Everyone is focusing on FPS possibilities of the controller..

What about fighting games? Imagine some attachment simular to what holds cell phones on your belt for each of your legs and hands. Using 4 controllers on each hand, and leg ... I can dream can't I? xD
Imagine having to do the shoryuken.(dragon punch)
But imagine the possibilities for fishing games.
Bass Master 4000 ahoy!

Speed is the key.
Tennis games, Golf games, Pingis games...  8)

EDIT: For those who haven´t seen it yet, here´s the official video from Nintendo:

Click the "Click here to view video" button to the right.
...though, for the record, while somewhat more "official", it's still just people pretending to use the controller.
