Me and a friend were planning on holding a marathon late August early September before we start planning anything though we wanna know if anyone would even be interested in it post here if you would want to run in this marathon that may or may not happen

Nope. There are so many other marathons that not only have goals in mind more specific than simply "A marathon in late summer," but are also as open-door for sign-ups. Ideas can be good, but they need to be at least a little more fleshed out, in my opinion.

That said, marathoning just for the fun of it can be fun and interesting. Plenty of people do marathon-style streams by themselves. They teach a fraction of the amount of effort and length of processes that go into planning and running marathons, so if you're interested in that, I guess given that kind of goal, it could be a good personal endeavor, but on the other hand, it can be so exhausting and physically/emotionally unhealthy that it might also be a bad idea in several regards.
