Hello everyone,
my name is Lukas but you can call me LaV, I'm currently 21 years old and live in Germany.

I have been watching speedruns for games I like since a couple of years, but now I have started to think about speedrunning a couple of games myself.
I've been speedrunning Diablo2 with some mates a couple of times and well.. thats basically myspeedrun experience until now...

I'm interested in speedrunning Half-Life, Diablo II and maybe even the 1st Generation Pokémon games, although I probably wont be able to even come close to the records in HL and Pokémon ;o

new here umm i was looking up the best times for Resident evil 2 and it seems i beat (North american Dreamcast) Claire A- Story with a 1:24:46 Game time with A ranking i was gonna post it but i Filmed it with my Cell phone (its in 720P video) but i was reading the list and it says it wont allow anything besides a Direct DVD recorder and as i dont have one of those is there anything else i could use to film it? ( my Video on my phone is pretty good and i zoom in on my full picture and and it starts when i start the Dreamcast and when i go back to the main menu after my ranking plz let me know if there is anything else i could use because i dont wanna spend 100$ just on a DVD recorder to prove i beat the top score here (pefer a Admin sends me a Email so we can talk about this)
I've been coming here off and on for a few years now because i wanted to remember some old games i've played but didnt want to dig up the system and hook it up and such, plus i find it fascinating how people can speed through some old titles with tips and tricks that would take me significantly longer to beat myself, if i could beat them at all. I'm Ian, and have been gaming since i was about 5 or so, but i was terribad back then and it wasnt till 6 that it occurred to me you could jump AND push a direction at the same time to get over the first pipe in mario. from that revalation onward i became engrossed and played every game i could get my hands on. have been with it ever since and i'm 27 now.

I started with nintendo, then gameboy, sega, super nintendo, turbo graphx, playstation, saturn, some of the obscure systems, and then everything "current gen" from 64 on. i didn't get into PC gaming till about the late 90s with blizzard games etc. i also didn't pick rpgs right away cause i was too impatient to read and figure them out as a child. it wasnt till 97 with FF7 that i saw how awesome rpgs could be and went back to try older ones (earthbound, super mario RPG, secret of mana, ff3/6) etc. and figured them out and they became my main draw for years and years to follow, guiding what systems i purchased (playstation) until now, as an adult, i dont have the time i once did so i'm more of a casual gamer though i played MMOs for some time too.

My main goal registering is to tell that guy who did the zen intergalactic ninja title a trick i learned as a child that you can kill the oil boss with instantly with a fire extinguisher, and to request that someone speedrun WURM: journey to the center of the earth for NES lols cause i owned it too and remember it wasnt too hard to beat with a little memorization.

I look forward to watching every speed run on this site eventually.
Hi, I'm buMf00d, 26 and from the Netherlands.

I've basically been playing video games all my life and have been lurking on this site for some time. Over the past week or so I've been watching the marathon that you guys did and figured that I should join the site. I've watched some awesome runs for several games and will investigate if I can do one of these sometimes.

I'll be idling in the irc chat so if someone wants to talk, hit me up Smiley

Just stopping in again.

Welcome all newcomers! I look forward to seeing you guys around here and hopefully seeing some new speedrunners. If you're thinking "I'm not good enough at games to do a speedrun" you're wrong. It just takes a bit of practice and a little dedication to get a pretty nice looking run. Patience is the key when it comes to speedrunning.

Again, Welcome. Hope you guys enjoy it here.
Gamer and stitcher
Hi, I love what you guys do, and the idea of playing something really quickly sure appeals to me.  I definitely plan to run Ratchet and Clank games, even though I know there's someone else around who does so too.  I am an (assistant) teacher in Florida with nobody in my life but my cat Moshi (who is not named after the dinosaur in Mario games!) and since she enjoys hanging around me while I play, if I ever get a stream going with me on it, she might guest star.
HEEHEEHEE!
Hey guys.

My name's Liam Carroll. I'm a 15-year old highschool student from Australia. On most sites I'll be something along the lines of Totodiletrainer or Lilio.

I was introduced to gaming when I got a gameboy advance for my birthday. Since then I've become a bit of a nintendo nerd. I play a lot of SSBB, and I'm really interested in target test. I've managed sub-15 seconds for every character on level one, although not up to "legendary" status.
In terms of runs... I'm really rather average. I have interests in doing subspace emmisary 2-player, or any% sonic advance 3 (I believe that if you want to win a competition, enter one with no entrants). Maybe pokemon yellow (but I need recording equipment).
In general, I plan my own routes. Often this is just because I never look.

It is my goal to get a run up before I turn 18, and attend a marathon before I turn 30.

I guess that's me in a nutshell.
Quote from Totodiletrainer:

Hey there's no rush, you can do it when your 40 instead ! Grin
Just messin, welcome both of you.

Wha-hey!
Hello all!

I've lurked around the site for awhile, never really introduced myself. I speedrun a few things casually from time to time (LIMBO, Mischief Makers, Portal 1+2, Okami), and I play lots of other games, so...yup. I'd like to become more involved with SDA. I'm a grad student and don't have as much time as I'd like, but sometime in the future, I want to try a more serious speedrun in something. That's me.
Hello.

My name is Diego, age 27 and I’m from Brasil. Ever since the AGDQ 2012 I’ve become an avid watcher of the SDA streams, I love the all the effort and love you guys put into Speed Running and Games in general.
About me, I’m a Programmer and Network Admin plus any tech related stuff that is required around here.  I’ve gotten into gaming when I was… too young to remember how old I was.

My gaming History is basically this.

Console: Atari 2600, NES (Actually a CCE TurboGame an unlicensed BR NES that played both JP and NA carts and used Geneis controller ports), N64, PSX, DreamCast, NGC, PS2, Xbox, Xbox360, PS3, Wii. Sadly I currently own only the ones in bold text.

PC: Started with an IBM XT (Green Prince of Persia FTW) and gotten a new one every so often ‘til now. Also PC is and will always be my favorite gaming platform.
I'm way more humble than you!
Hello everybody!

My name is Eoin Maguire, but it's pronouced 'Owen'. Strange? yeah it is, but that's the way life is I suppose. I'm 15 years old and generally go by the alias SKILL3RS101 (skillers 101), or maybe Emperor_Eoin, depending on how up myself I feel.

The first time I was introduced to games was when I found an old (and sadly forgotten) yellow Game Boy Color (normally I spell it 'colour' because I'm Australian, but that's how it was spelt on the console). Inside it was the legendary game Super Mario Bros. Curious I turned it on and had an amazing amount of fun. To this day I still play that game, and to my eternal shame, I have never had enough time to beat it before my brother starts a new game and beats it. After I played that, my dad showed me Diablo II when I was seven. He let me play it but I was always so afraid to venture out of the starting town that I never got far. Eventually I gave up. That was until we moved house. After the move I tried it again, and this time fearless, I completely crushed all NPC opposition and had an amazing level of fun with it. After that I was just taken in by every game that was worth playing. Although my collection isn't that large, I still enjoy playing the ones that I have, so I'm not complaining. The main reason that I like games is the unique story element combined with simplistic yet satisfying play.

Following on with the story side of things, I myself like to read a lot and I write my own little stories and fan-fics. Although they're probably not the best, my dream would have to be people not only buying my books, but getting really into it and surfing the wiki for hours (like me).

My goals with gaming are much simpler though. I play to have fun. I find that playing with friends is much better than playing alone, and I've started up a group known as SKILL HQ. Basically we just mess around playing games and then post videos or write reviews etc. Well, that's the plan, but so far things have been too busy to really start. I'm also planning to do a few speedruns, and I'm likely going to be helping Totodiletrainer with his things since we're the best of friends (he dragged me into this, so blame him for this boring text :P). The games that I'll be doing myself will likely be things more mainstream like Assassin's Creed and other PS3 titles.

I consider myself a polite person, although that's probably a lie, so I'm going to end here because a massive blob of text is just ugly and annoying to read.

We're made of star-stuff
Hey everyone,

My name's Scott Cuva, I'm 19 years old, and I've been lurking this website for quite a long time. If I recall correctly, I found Twin Galaxies in 2004 when I first found out about speed running in an old copy of EGM. From there, I eventually found this site, and I've been reading the updates on and off for the past 5 or so years. AGDQ 2012 inspired me to make an account and get to doing some speed runs of my own.

I don't have a lot of free time, since being an opera major is far more time-consuming than one would think, but I'm currently working on breaking the record for Ratchet and Clank 3. I've wanted to set the record for this game for quite a long time, although it kept falling to the wayside. Now, I've done a lot of refining and tweaking to my paths, and I hope to have a new record set for it by the summer. After that, I'll probably start doing some Super Meat Boy IL's and potentially expand to Ratchet 2, but that's all in due time. Looking forward to getting to know all of you. =)
weird - sda should be in that issue of egm too iirc. welcome to the forum anyway!

It probably was in that issue, and I just never realized it. I'm pretty clutch like that.
Hi Cheesy

Names Matt Vondrak and hopefully it'll become a much more known name. I have pretty much no idea where to start but I set my sights on Resident Evil 4, always loved it and I see that it's a good place to start. I have quite a bit of free time and nothing to do with it so I am looking to spend most of it breaking records. My post seems so short...
Hello we're Ish & Jay AKA Shadowblade! We are identical twins and we both use this account. We also go by the individual UN's Crimsonblade (Ish) & Nightshadow (Jay). If by any chance your also wondering what the digits are at the end of this user name it is our birth day and year which is also on our individual UN's.

We first discovered SDA around 2-3 years ago when we came across a MP3 speedrun by user named Paraxade0. We have watched speedruns prior to this but that was what inspired us to start doing our own. We just love the planning, depth & passion speedrunners & gamers such of ourselves put into games. We haven't officially documented any speedruns but have started some.
difficult and stupidly random
Do identical twins make good partners for a co-op speedrun?  Maybe we'll find out.
So close, but still far to go.
Hello and greetings to all of the amazing people here at SDA. My name is Thomas, but I'm called Danthega. From Nordland, Norway. I play currently Skyward Sword for pleasure, but will become more serious when I find more time.

I found SDA while looking for speedruns of megaman series (Megaman 4 at that time) in 2007 and since then, I've used alot of time watching different speeruns from different games I knew about or have played. Then at the end of 2010 I started to watch some of the online streams and got pretty mutch hooked on that also.

So I hope that we will have a good friendly relationship between me and all of you.

well Dan welcome, enjoy being in the site and have fun.
Hello everybody.

I'm Adrien from France, and I enjoy to watch awsome speedruns on this site. I like this way of playing and I often try to do some good time on my favorite games. Thanks for all and keep it up!

Showing you how to PWN games!
Hey everyone! My friends call me Nisse, add a little three to that and you'll end up with aw3som3!
I've always enjoyed trying to beat games as fast as possible. When I found out about this speedrun community it started to become a part of my life - and now I practise speedrunning daily!
I got two SNES consoles, one PAL and one NTSC, and a NES console. My arsenal of games is continuously growing, but for now the games I'm able to speedrun in are Tetris Attack, Zelda: Alttp and Shadow Gate (NES). Once I'm confident in my Alttp runs, I'll begin practising the Megaman series! I hope I'll get to know you guys better, feel free to contact me whenever you would like too!
Hey folks, just joined and this is suppose to be my first stop. Really not much to say except that I sped run a few games for fun about a year ago without even realizing there was a community that was all about it. I stumbled upon this site when looking up the SNES Aladdin top times, and that's what I am here for, need to shake off some rust and pick back up the controller.

I game because I like the challenge, if its tough I will play it, if there is a choice between normal and hard I am choosing hard....unless I plan on trying to beat it as fast as possible thumbsup

Hilko if you are interested in picking up Aladdin you should also check out SpeedRunsLive

There are some people who race that game from time to time.
