I'm DDRMANIAC007 and I'm completely new to this site!

I'm planning on doing speedruns of Touhou Doujins as I am quite skilled at some of them.

Welcome to the forums! Good luck with running Touhou and let's hope you stick around for a while!
Hello. My name is DemonicDragony93. I been a fan of you guys from  youtube and a fellow racer by the name of Xblade. Anyways. I'm a retrogamer and i'm practicing to beat the 100% record of Andrew from his Super Mario Brothers (NES) (100% run). but for the mean time I hope to find some awsome speedrun shows around here.

My Favorite gaming types
Megaman
Mario
Zelda
Street fighter
(Not particulary in that order)
I am Sportacus84 I am a new Speed runner trying my hand at different Games like SM64 also want to bring in newer games that are not listed like Drawn to Life or Harvest Moon DS.  I like to play long games (Zelda OoT & Majora's Mask). I like to play legit not using glitches. to me glitches ruin the game for me. I have a DS,Xbox360,PS2,Gamecube and enjoy some PC games would like to speed run some of them but i have so many to choose from lol. But i vist the SDA.com and watch people speed run ethier live streams and/or videos alrdy posted. Pretty sure I can find some games i can speed run. Well thats all i can think of

@ Sportacus84: If you decide to go through with SM64, you should totally join the SDA IRC server and add #speedrunslive to your Channels List. They race all kinds of games there, and Mario 64 is one of the big ones, mainly racing 70 and 120 Stars. As soon as I get my NFR cart, I will be joining this community a lot more frequently. Hope to see you there!

The only problem I see with your goal to start running is your view towards glitch use (these include sequence breaks, as well). If there's at least one thing I've learned here over the years, not using glitches in your runs will most likely get it rejected, especially if they're glitches that are beneficial for a faster time.

Don't let what I'm telling you discourage you from running, though! thumbsup That's what the Casual Speedrunning board is for. There, you can basically "run for fun." No verification required and you don't necessarily have to use glitches. It's just having fun trying to get through a game as fast as you can and then you post your time. But, if you want to get a record eventually, you may have to use glitches (unless you find a game that's not completely glitch-heavy; though I can't think of any at the moment).

Otherwise, welcome to the Forums and we hope you'll stick around for a while!
@BlueStarReturns

thanks for the tip and info i need to find my dazzle and software but my good computer is still under repair but i was thinking of speed running Drawn to Life for DS so far i havent found any glitches to that game but there prbby is just havent found them.
Well then I guess it's my turn then I'm Harvest Moon 31 I spell that out because I've been misnamed recently. I don't speedrun myself because it would end up a marathon of me trying to kill every 1 find all the nooks and cranny's but that doesn't stop me from watching and enjoying them.
I've been aware of SDA for many years and finally registered because I've begun to try out speed running myself. I kinda suck but I hope to improve. I usually stream my practice runs.
hello everyone. I've recently signed up want to be part of the community. hope to have a great time.
I decided to join.  I am thinking of doing some speed running in the near future.  Not sure yet.

Well you are off to a bad start since you triple posted this thread that is seemingly meaningless with regards to gaming discussion. Perhaps you should try the "New Users" section of the forum.

sinister1: The triple post was probably not his fault. There's an unresolved (I think) issue in Taiga where if your post is taking a long time to submit and you refresh the page, you get an error message saying the post couldn't be posted when in fact it will go through. If your natural reaction to this is to click the 'submit' button again, and again it takes a long time to post, you end up creating lots of duplicate threads. I've septuple-posted threads before.

nayem09036: We ask new users not to create new threads to introduce themselves, since if everyone did this it would clutter the forum, and, really, people aren't likely to be very interested in introductory posts from people they don't know. This would be the correct place for your post. It'd also be worth you having a look at the posting guidelines here:

1-Up!
I deleted the duplicates.

Also good post ExplodingCabbage.

I was going to lock this but I guess merging is just as easy and creates less clutter so I'll do that.

Hello I am RyanPlainandSimple. I am the heir of the Plain Family. I am an only child and I also have ADHD. For now I am living with my parents to watch over my mom. She hasn't been in best health lately. I help her with chores that she can't do due to her back problems. Someday if my mom ever gets better I plan on going to college. If she doesn't get better soon I may have to try online courses. My mom has Crohn's Disease so that's a really big problem. That's why I'm always home to protect her and help her.
I play games a little too much...
Hello, I'm James Reese. I play games A LOT and I think it may be a problem... Anywho, I've always had a natural "knack" at playing games and I feel I should put myself to the test. (Maybe because I'm part asian? xD) But if you see me post any runs, it will probably be for Metroid or something similar. I'll try to expand my horizon and become a valued member here at SDA!
They Sure Blew Up Good
Hello All,

Just registered. I want to do a Contra 4 SR (and have recorded a few attempts) but don't think it will be accepted till I can do it in less deaths. Anyway plan to start a thread on the subject and see where it goes.

Glad to be aboard Grin
Totally rad
Good day everybody,

I registered a few days ago because I personally wanted to thank someone for making a brilliant speed run (Siyko; Diablo 2). His video inspired me to start working on my own speed run of Sonic Chaos; it may take some time before that video will be released, because I'm on an exchange programme (I'm roughly 15.000 km away from home), but I'm making lots of progress by practising the game on my PSP.

Hope I'll be able to contribute to this wonderful website Smiley
Hello people!

Greetings from France ... but only for work, because I'm normally from Germany Wink

I'm following speed gaming and SDA for a loooooong time, but only as a passive viewer. When I watched the Speed Gaming Marathon I thought about getting a little bit involved in discussions etc.
...
well, seems I forgot that Tongue
But now I remembered and here I am!

I don't know if I can contribute some speedrunning - only "game" I think I could speed run is an old Nokia mobile phone game called "Bounce" Smiley The rest... I think I'm too bad! But who knows what the future will bring to us and me!

so speedy greetings and hopefully you have a little bit fun with me!
I've been a fan of the site for several years now (not quite sure how I stumbled across it but I'm glad I did). I decided to join up on the forums here while watching the SM64 120 star run from the AGDQ marathon. I doubt I'll ever be a speedrunner myself, I just don't have the temperament for it, but if the next marathon happens around the DC area again I'd really love to participate or at the very least hang out with you folks.

See you around the boards.

I'm Adam Agro from RedSouthCity. I love speedruns and hardcore gamers. I love this site! I love the live streams as well. I recently finished a speedrun for my site and thought it would be awesome to subbmit it here and see if I can stack up to the best. I wanna be a handcore speedrunner some day and today was the start of my epic quest. I've been reading rules and feeling out this site all day, so I hope to get my run in soon.
