do these exist?  ive loved speedruns since i read about them in some archaic ist shssue of egm.  but watching the marathons and seeing it live just shows how insanely great you guys are at these games.  how about a little bragging?  not the fastest way to beat a game, the most bad ass way to beat a game.

Borderlands 2 Glitch Hunter/ router.
believe there mostly done as TAS's

http://tasvideos.org/

My favorite is probably Killer instinct (Snes) with Spinal (http://tasvideos.org/773M.html)

(sorry if this double posts something wierd happened :S)

Edit# Completely agree with Heidrage too, but for "beyond human" skill see above they have the tools to break the game into pieces.
Willing to teach you the impossible
OoT - With Large Skips, Double Dragon II - Both runs, Super C Low%, Lagoon

Just off the top of my head. All of them take a great deal of knowledge and skill at the game.... Correction, every run does. All speedruns are bad ass in every way. Just my opinion.
Gradius TAS
TASvideos does these on occasion, calling them "playarounds".

It'd be quite a bit harder to do in SDA's framework; you can say that one run's faster than another without (much) controversy, but whether one run's more entertaining than another is pretty massively controversial. And what the verifiers found entertaining might not be what other people found entertaining.

Of course, the best case is when fastest is most impressive anyway. TASvideos' primary aim is for entertainment, but in most runs, that's best achieved by aiming for maximum speed, so you get the speedrun as the entertainment category anyway.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
what do you mean by badass, superplays?
Plenty of stuff like this is done/used to be done in the Hitman games, especially Blood Money. Killing targets with a specific weapon or accident, without disguises, making the NPCs shoot each other... It went so far that the devs included a mode dedicated to doing weird hits in Absolution. I'm really looking forward to that, Blood Money has been pretty much done to death at this point.
SDA Apprentice -- (3-1)
Yeah... Basically if you want to see "Impressive runs", you can always check out Tool assisted runs.

If you are looking for specific runs, you can't go wrong with the Family Feud run.

I love how one sided this is and how the Hall family look incredily pissed off after each round.
HELLO!
I agree that this sort of thing OP is talk ing about would be interesting... but it's not really something that seems to fit in the SDA system.  Youtube would be good for that though.

You know, to throw out an example, if Sinister wants to post Youtube video of the Round 3 Tyson KO trick, that's the kind of thing I'd link people to.

There's better STG replays to watch, but Ikaruga is just so pretty to watch. *_*

EDIT: The 15 minute mark. Holy fuck.
HELLO!
Ikaruga? That looks familiar... wait a minute...

Ah yes.  Same developers as Gradius V. Thought it looked like that.

HELLO!
Yeah the Brain Age one is cute along the lines of the Feud one.

Obviously the Gradius one is a TAS for the ages.

Don't know what to speedrun :(
This one impressed me a lot. I don't even know what kind of robot brain you have to have to be able to do this

One I would love to see is a video of someone who is good at uberschizoid mode of Schizoid. or hell even a two player run of the game.

That's literally it. You need a robot brain.

It's on ebay all the time. It's just more expensive than the Gamecube version. I got mine for "cheap" I think it was $55. It's a super impressive game considering it's only 20 MB.
General Kong - Bullets and Bananas
Yeah, but I can't spend that much when I already have a copy, albeit inferior.  Tongue
What's so inferior about the GCN version? Last I checked, it was pretty much arcade perfect.

But yeah, I totally forgot about the VTF-INO videos. Good call, Youkai. It'd actually be fun as shit to practice, I think, and he actually has it easier in one place: the part right before the trains where you have to chain enemies in a zig-zag. I die there every time in single player while attempting an S++ rank, because I'm not exactly a surgeon at shmups. =[
spread the dirt to the populace
My Maximum Carnage run kinda fits into this.  I feel a no-death run being that fast is more impressive than a sub-22 with deaths, hence why I submitted the run I did even though I know sub-22 is possible if you're less careful.
Some people (myself included) do no-gun runs in Bioshock. There are probably videos of that somewhere. I've never checked though.
DeFRag(q3 mod) runs.
