Can you claim this as copyrighted material? If so then his channel can be taken down fairly quickly. I think it's after 3 strikes or something. But it probably has to come from the runners. Which is why I'm looking through his list now.
Dapper as fuck.
LOL my Rescue Rangers All Zones run from here is on his page, and he didn't even bother to remove the StatID from it.
You got a deletion wish?
My Sion run of The Bouncer too, statid's there.

From the few runs that I took a look at, I don't think he bothered to remove the stat ID for any of them.  I never had a stat ID for my Nemo run so it's not like he was super crafty and removed it.  It appears that he's just downloading the runs and uploading them as they are.

I'm kind of offended that he thought enough of my outdated Nemo run to steal and upload it but not my significantly better-looking Milon run.  I'm just going to convince myself that he hasn't gotten past runs that start with L yet.

Update: His Youtube channel got shut down.  Great work, everyone.

Somewhat off-topic: Was anyone aware that Twin Galaxies is apparently using timing rules that they found for games on speedrun dot com and copying and pasting them verbatim onto their site?

I guess it's debatable whether that's inherently wrong but I found it funny that their timing rules that they posted for Little Nemo, as well as several other NES games that I looked up, were eerily similar to the ones on speedrun dot com...and by eerily similar, I mean word for word.
Twin Galaxies is older. Are you sure that the copying there wasn't done the other way round? (Not saying it was, just you have to be careful about this sort of thing before making accusations.)

Yeah I really don't think you're understanding.  This isn't an accusation... it's a fact.  They're taking the rules that people have typed up for their speed games for speed run dot com and copying and pasting them onto their own site.

Example: I typed up the timing rules for Little Nemo: The Dream Master on Speedrun dot com.  They are now on Twin Galaxies, word for word.  Here is what I had typed:

-Timing starts at first movement in Mushroom Forest and ends at loss of character control when the Nightmare King is defeated.

-The Japanese version runs 1:18.3 faster due to less cutscene time. In addition, the stingray boss fight in Nightmare Land 2 is roughly 2 seconds faster in the Japanese version.

Want an even more obvious example?  Take a look at Battletoads on Twin Galaxies.  The rules that they have posted read as the following (hint, compare these to the ones on speed run dot com):

"Q: What can be considered 100%?
A: JC583 & TMR talk about it and came to the conclusion that 100% should include this:
1. Do not take any warp.
2. Display all the game levels content:
- Lv.4 Arctic Caverns - Not skipping upper part in the last check point where are located the porky pines.
- Lv.6 Karnath's Lair - Not getting early exit in room 4 (Last room), this means showing all the snakes.
- Lv. 9 Terra Tubes - Not allowed to go out of bounds at the begining of the level, not allowed the pixel spike skip in the last check point. Spinner skips are allowed and also to swim between spikes in the last check point beginning, right before the 1up.
- Lv.10 Rat Race - You need to do the whole race and kill the boss at the bottm."

HELLO!
Also, Twin Galaxies has died and been relaunched at least twice. It's not meaningfully older, except in name only.

Also if the person who wrote it for speedrun dot com knows he's the one who wrote it, then, you know.

Considering I literally wrote 95% of ALL the NES Settings during my tenure, this is equally insulting. I mean it shows they are throwing out the old system right off and allowing anything and everything... something I was slowly progressing at when I started lurking and being somewhat active here... but at the same time, it's a sad state of affairs that this new regime is outright ripping off... [Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?]

I mean I guess it's great they are trying to appeal to EVERYONE in this regard... but outright copying... not exactly too thrilled by that.

Then again, that ship sailed for me a LONG time ago when I retired to focus on real life and the new regime is not something I am really interested in at all.

I'm not sure how I even feel about the situation, in all honesty.

Rather than create their own content, they're ripping off of other people's "work" (I'm using the word "work" here rather loosely) and posting it as their own without acknowledging that it came from an outside source.  I can't say that "imitation is the best form of flattery" here because no effort was put into making the content even remotely their own.  I as well as the other speedrunners who have contributed rules for various games on speedrun dot com should probably feel pretty insulted that we're contributing to their sad attempt at a revival.

Honestly though, I can't help but laugh at the situation.  I've never personally had anything against Twin Galaxies, as their time was up long before I got into speedrunning.  Maybe if they would focus all of their efforts in arcade scores instead of trying to divide the speedrun community even further, they would still have a meaningful place in gaming.  This is just sad though.  They've done enough wrong that I probably wouldn't even feel right about being upset with them, at this point.
This channel features many runs of speedrun marathons, including GDQ's and ESA's and the person says in the comments: " @runner: Feel free to leave a comment or drop me a message if you want your run removed."

Just thought it would be nice to let people know about it here. I don't know if only the runner can request the removal of the video, or if the organization also has rights.

Our current policy for old GDQ footage is "so long as it's not monetized", but that will be changing as of SGDQ to something more like "do not upload it unless it's your run".

This user stole several runs from various runners and are claiming them as his own.

While I prefer not to refer to reddit, this reddit post details it better than I can:

Well looks like the channel was closed.

Welp. here's another guy stealing runs, this time he's giving credit to the runners, but might be monetizing them?

HELLO!
Doesn't matter if he is or not. He's diverting traffic for his account's gain at the expense of the runners.  Every runner with a run there should go get it shut down by reporting that video as infringing.

Found another channel that seems to be going through the SDA game list in alphabetical order: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCV_bMU7zU1Q5Azb7e41LhwA

Stumbled upon it while trying to find my time attacks from a general youtube search. I'm assuming I go through the DMCA form?

Given it's got a bunch of GDQ videos on there, the channel should be extremely easy to get shut down.

Edit: That YouTube channel seems to be tied to this site: http://www.speed-run.com/
Borderlands 2 Glitch Hunter/ router.

This particular channel also states in it's "about" section that all money goes to charity ... doesn't say which one though ... (and no I don't actually believe that there is one)

I hate to necro-post this, but I recently stumbled across someone who is also stealing runs. (He stole my old Clock Tower run before the glitches were implemented in the run.)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTtMZZGXEK9ytch1DsKZlGw

I left a comment on my run because I can't seem to figure out how to message him, I figure I'll give him a couple days before I actually file a claim against him.

EDIT: That was quick. He actually did take it down. Pretty pleasant surprise actually. He's still got other stolen runs up on his channel, but I guess just let him know to take down the video in the comments or something.

Hello World!
I'm just asking if this YouTube Channel is something official for SDA:
https://www.youtube.com/user/Mikerulez101/

The point being: This person is generating AD revenue for like doing nothing but uploading stuff that other people here have worked hard for.

If this person is not affiliated with SDA in any way, he should get his YT account shut down and pay back all the ad revenue to SDA.
What do you think?
DS Dictator
Nope that channel is not an official one and adding WR makes it a huge mess because the development of certain games obviously beats the submitted time.
