Did any of you speedrunners have a speedrun hiding in the shadow of another speedrun?

What I mean is that I got my Baldur's gate 2 speedrun and people argue to say the baldur's gate 1 and icewind dale speedrun were much better and harder.

My rational mind doesn't care, but my competitive mind is mad.

I could beat that bg1 record if I wanted groarrr.

in Super Metroid, Red Scarlet gets credit compared to Smokey that's positively astronomic, which I don't like.

Donkey Kong Country 2's any percent in my eyes really stands well on its own against the 102%. It's just a fun run that came out REALLY great for my first speed run. It has enough in it to kind of distinguish it from the other runs posted for the game (Being on the GBA version, fastest completion with DK and midpoint barrels removed for shits 'n giggles), it has plenty of great moments that come with ANY SS run, it's just a blast to play.

However, any DMC run that comes after Sternn's 100% SB Run will instantly be shoved aside. My Royal Guard run, although it's so much better than what I first posted, it still leaves me with not much confidence in the run's quality. The DMC1 run that Sternn does was... completely brilliant in terms of execution, planning and the player just has such an understanding of the game itself. It outdoes Mario 64 in terms of "WOW" for me.

I've always wondered about this. It could be the gender thing, but I think it's just that Red is around more. I don't really visit Metroid 2002, so I could be wrong though.
