Note that , you can use this thread for post new ideas you might have but seem to be legit and do-able.
Thanks

Hi everyone

I have to mention first , my english is bad but seem to be understandable from peoples i know. Tongue

I have an idea for both casual and hardcore speedrunners.

Has i like to kill every ennemies i see , i kill them all on-sight on the road i go in allmost any game i play Tongue

My idea consist of adding

-100% killing all monsters run on-screen (100% Kill everything)
If some monsters cannot be killed at the time you don't have the required item to kill it , the monster can be pass and kept alive but maybe...kill later target list ?

This type of run , i would set it has '' for fun run ''

I don't know if possible.
I been thinking could be fun to see xD

What do you guys think about this ?

Thread title:
My bad , no need to keep this thread has it belong to '' SDA speedrun request thread.... '' in the SDA i just checked.

A request i ask for speedrunners , sorry about that. , can delete this thread no problem.

Here is probably better than the request thread because these runs are more "casual" and wouldn't be published on SDA.

Something like the Gradius 3 100% Kills TAS (which is awesome) instantly comes to mind when I think of this, but on a more serious note some games have categories or possible categories that lend themselves more to killing enemies optimally. Off the top of my head, Mega Man Zero games are often run "all S-ranks" which basically forces you to kill the majority of enemies quickly without taking damage. Many Sonic games have rankings, but Sonic Heroes, having more depth to it's combat, ranks you heavily based on killed enemies, so an "A-ranks" run of that could be fun to optimize.

Basically the best way to implement something like this is in a game that tracks this sort of thing in some kind of end of level or game screen, or some journal in the menu. Off the top of my head Dragonblade: Wrath of Fire has a kill percentage at the end of each level even if it doesn't rank you. Even without that, very simple games one screen at a time games like classic Mega Man would be easy enough to track (and actually probably fun to optimize too if you also go for speed, now that I think about it)

Really it's what you make of it. For some games killing enemies is easy and just adds time, or gives you levels that make the game less challenging. In others, killing enemies requires resources you don't want to burn in a speedrun, and requiring more can bring out the extra choices and depth in routing that, say, a 100% category provides. If you think your idea is fun, try it out casually and tell us what you think.
It REALLY depends on the game. There's been recently a couple people who ran Final Fantasy IV SNES version with no escaping -- I could see a lot of other RPGs doing this too.
Something like a platformer though....it's wouldn't really be a speed run.

Nice !

I totally agree to both of you.

Depends on the game that's for sure.

I like to 100% clear maps in Diablo 1-2-3 and maps are random formed.

In Megaman for sure , can be easy to track and kill everything. wow , i did not know that for Megaman Zero about those '' S-ranks '' god must be really tough and challenging to the top level. Yes , that would be awesome to have a feature to tracks monster kills of every end of level and game-screen with % of all in-game monsters killed.

In RPGs seem to be able to do , no escaping with all encounters against monsters , thanks Melodia did not think about that. Platformer would be tough maybe depends where the monsters is placed on the screen. miss one and reset. In some RPG i know , some monster escape from battle cause game mechanic where in FF6 you use Locke and steal clothes.

Sure that , it adds game time a lot due to ennemies sometimes spawns at random or spawn when you move right-left quickly off screen by mistake or something.

Some racing game which your car have weapons to kill others will be really hard to kill everything i.e F-Zero X and Extreme-G 1 and 2 on N64 might be impossible to kill all xD

I'm thinking about trying casually and test with some random games. This kind of run 100% kills fit more on a RPG than other games types i know but it is interresting to try it out and test with the goal of killing everything that try kill player of any ways even ennemies miss player target , still ennemy.

Miss 1 ennemy and reset , ouch.
Huge challenge there to kill everything.

Actually for a game like a Mega Man it'd be tricky to even DEFINE "kill everything" since so many enemies spawn infinitely or despawn when they go off-screen.
