I am a longtime fan of superplays and timeattacks, and i absolutely love the site. I can see that the file upload/download you are using is a torrent because, of course, bandwidth is expensive and torrents are easy and free. I can also see how torrents can be difficult and slow because of leechers and other archives (like archives.org) sometimes fail and dont have a mirror.

I understand the thing about emulators, since they can give an unfair advantage to the player. I'd really like to see superplays and similar videos of expertise in the limelight, to show off what is really possible in a game. Your site is great and I'm sure that finding mirrors and file hosting can be somewhat difficult, and sometimes expensive and I'd really like to help out by providing a place where these kinds of files are available all the time and where you dont have to worry about bad connections and slow downloads.

I'd like to help you guys out.

Through careful negotiations, I've gotten a deal at filecloud.com, a new file management site done by the same guys that make the speakeasy gaming network.

They are willing to host up to 20GB initially of superplays and timeattacks, as well as the recording files and whatnot, absolutely free of charge. no more torrents. no more paying for bandwidth (if you do). and of course, no more trying to find mirrors for files since they will host them. I really hope you guys can help me out, I'd like to move all of the movies, avi files, recordings for snes9x and gens and etc to filecloud and have them host it, its a quick and free login to upload the files, and downloading is easy to get with a simple signup, no strings attached, no payments, no collections, no email spam if you dont want it either.  The download bandwidth is real good too, about 200-500kbps for the free downloading.

Please please please reply back to me. I really enjoy watching these videos and feel that the exposure that can be generated by filecloud will make this all the more popular.

Sincerely,
Chazbot

I've only had torrents for two runs. The first was an experiment to see how it worked for all-files-at-once. The 2nd was because ARCHIVE.org (no freaking S!) was undergoing some temporary maintenance. I don't pay for archive.org and it's usually very fast with both a US and EU server choice. Although newer items don't get copied to EU right away.

And that's where you lost me. People hate creating accounts to download stuff. That's why I bypassed fileplanet's login while I was at planetquake (which pissed off GameSpy, but hey, they never stopped it from working). And that's why I like archive.org.

Actually that is one of the best things of this site (from the download-technical point of view only of course...), so I am sure a lot of people would hate that to change.
Well, nevermind, I was just thinking that the extra space and bandwidth would come in handy.

Fileplanet and fileshack also have registration and they dont seem to be hurting for users. Maybe people hate paying for something when they can get it for free? well, the registration and use of the download sections of the sites and free anyway, just capped so the servers can run under budget. I really dont see how anyone can "hate" that.

Ah well then, if you guys dont want it, then alright. Sorry.
