The particular way of not sucking I would like this board to perform is to not tell me that I haven't read messages from a month ago when I have.  It did this to me when it was on dynamic, it does it to me in Safari and in Firefox.  Is it some kind of lame-ass YaBB bug?

Yeah i've seen it too... dont know.
What's your thoughts on changing to phpbb instead?  Of course that'd probably meaning starting new again, unless it can magically import this board.

It would be nice not to have three potential forums to search, indeed.  What does YaBB.pl use as its backend?  MySQL?

In my opinion, there are only two really good forum softwares, and they're Invision and PhpBB. vBulletin is a great one, too, but it's not free. There *MIGHT* be a converter for YaBB > Invision or YaBB > PhpBB. I know they've made serveral converters, so look around a bit before tossing everything. Smiley

Lots and lots of text files...there's over 1000 files for this forum.  I'm sure yabb doesn't scale very well... phpbb on the otherhand does use sql and can handle thousands of threads/users/posts easily.

I think this happens to everyone once in a while... it does to me at least. Haven't encountered the bug for quite some time though...

But there's no point in getting a new forum, this forum works just fine if you look aside from that bug.

This forum works fine if you ignore the ways it doesn't work?

Like I said, I have no real opinion on the whole changing forums thing.  That's up to radix.  If there is a change, *I'd* regard having a full import as mandatory, but it's not my call.

I notice YaBB 1.3.2 is out, but don't see any mention of this problem in the release notes.
