This game can now be done under 9 minutes, using a glitch MilsTailsPrower and I found today. I don't think there was a world record or something, nobody cares about this game... Except DukeSetz who found nice tricks a year ago (I'm sorry Duke, really) ...

I will upload a speed run a little later!

> You can do all the run from the demo!

The best part of this door clipping glitch is that you can beat the entire game just by playing the demo off of Xbox Live. All of the content is still there, you just have to pass through the first door so that you don't hit the trigger at the end of the demo.

From my testing, this doesn't work on the updated PC version (Prophecy). This would also mean the same would apply to the PS3 version, so this only works for Hydrophobia: Pure.

Here's my playlist of old glitches that actually don't end up factoring into this new route at all! Don't I feel useful!

Finally got a sub 5 mins!

Two small lags during the recording ... Sorry about that !
I may improve that run in the next few days , under 4:50 is possible.

Hahaha, good work Pewable and Mils.

5 minutes? I might have to learn this for a laugh when I get too angry at my normal speedruns. Any tips on how to do the skips? I tried to mimic what I saw in the video, but it's not as straightforward as it looks.

Thanks for any help. \o/
Run towards the "hole" between the doors, face the other direction as soon as you touch the wall, you should have a feet in the door, then "quickly" go towards the door and roll. According to Duke's hours trying it, it doesn't work on pc. Good luck!

Awesome; got it. Finished a run before I got out of bed for work, haha. I'll give it a go next time I stream TR, hehe.

Thankee. \o/

Alright, just got around to trying to run this game, and so far, I've been able to get every trick to work...after almost an hour. Anyway, about the wall clips, do you just have to get used to the timeing, and then they'll become easier? Or is it random?

Also, MilsTailsPrower mentioned that sub 4:50 is possible, but after watching his 4:57 run, I can't seem to find how 7 seconds can be shaved off

Pewable: 2014-05-23 03:15:32 am
Wall clips are all about timing, it's not random at all.

And he didn't know about the vent glitch... I was sure I did a video of it but can't find it. When in the vent, go to the edge of it and use the tablet, you can now walk in the vent. When you can't go further and have to crouch (because of things in the vent) , do a roll, then, when you see there are no more things blocking you from walking, use the tablet again, etc.

( It's like that but with the tablet and you can go back to standing mode when there are no pipes.)

I am bad at explaining.

Okay, thanks for confirming my suspicions about the wall clips and showing an updated version of the vent glitch.

I think I'll stick to any% without large skips until I can get consistent with the wall clips. Besides, I already found a few nice timesavers for Act 1, I'll post them later
Oops, I said nothing, he used it. The run is not perfect that's all, you can always do it a little faster, good luck if you try!
3:10 : Its possible to not fall during the cutscene, I don't know how to do it exactly though.
My vent part was kinda slow , I lost time by being stuck.
My first (and last ) hack of the game could be done faster!

Nothing to say about the rest of the run ! If only my recorder wasn't laggy when I got all doors clip first try Undecided

Wait, your supposed to fall in that cutscene? I don't think that's ever happened to me.

Anyway, the wall clips are becoming a little easier now, it's still takes a couple of tries for each one though. Anyway, about hacking, I discovered that once you get all the lines right, you can press b and you'll be done with the hacking, saving maybe a second or so

Edit: Nevermind, just got 6:41. The beginning of the run was atrocious, but the ending was great with a first try door clip at the end, something that had never happened before Cheesy
I think you have to press up at the same moment the cutscene start , she will not fall like she does on my run ... Its tricky though , but it save a few seconds!

What happened btw ?

If you're referring to the fall cancel trick, the thing that happens is the camera pans to were Kate (the main character) should be, but you only see Kate's legs because she didn't fall. I going to mess around with that skip some more.

If you're reffering to my 6:41 run, the begging was really sloppy, the first 2 wall clips took multiple attempts, and the jump over the boards into the electricity took me a couple trys because I kept dying from electrocution. But the ending was beautiful, got the vent glitch perfectly, and got the third wall clip first try, something that had never happened before.

I gotta say MilsTailsPower, you're WR video makes the run look A LOT easier than it is. Damn you and Pewable for finding such a difficult to replicate glitch Grin

Anyway, going to do some more runs tonight and see if I can crack 6:30 or possibly even 6 minutes. My timing was a bit off on my 6:41 run, I stopped the timer late, but I don't remember how late. So I just added 5 seconds on to the final time. I should be getting a recording device this weekend. By then, I'll be able to show off my "magnificent" runs

Edit: Do either of you have any tips on how to do the jump at around 2:46. I try to line myself up, but it seems a bit random. Also, how did you get so lucky Mils, in your WR run? Barely anyone paid attention to you, yet in my runs, I always end up taking a shotgun shell to the ass
That jump is not easy at all , practice it before attempting a run! I don't know how much times I died from electrocution here ... I don't really have a tips for it though. Undecided
Ennemies never shoot me in this part , but its not the same with the last ennemies of the game , keep shooting the explosive barrels =S
I was very lucky on this run!

Do you play on easy?
Wake up and be awesome
Yeah, I play on easy.

Just did another run today and brought my time down to 6:13. All three door clips took a few tries, but I got that electrical jump first try. I wasn't able to get the no fall skip though, that's annoying

Edit: Okay, forget everything I just said, because I just got 4:55 with a late timer end Cheesy
Got the first and third door clips first try and the second door clip second try. Got the jump first try as well. There were a few low points in the run though, I didn't get the no fall trick and the vent glitch was slow and sloppy. I'm so happy right now!!!
Haha nice! See? Sub 4:50 is possible !
Kinda lazy to play that game again though lol

Haha this is insane, that sub 5 run made my day.

Yeah, gotta give credit to those two insane glitchers for finding those skips. If I can get a run where I get door clips all on my first try, then it'll be sub 4:50

Edit: Just did a run of Act 1 no large skips and got 8:50, so this game is pretty short. From what I remember though, Act 2 is when stuff starts to get difficult

Finally got a recording device and just wanted to show how i do runs of this game. It's just about the same, but at least it's still cool to see.

This was a pretty crap run, but it was the first run I recorded, and I did it at 1 in the morning for some ungodly reason

It took me a few tries to get the second door clip glitch, the electricity skip as I like to call it was full of bad RNG, but at least i didn't die at the 3rd door clip glitch
By the way, I got a little bored during the elevator cutscene, sorry
Wake up and be awesome
Just recorded a Chapter 1 Any% no door clip glitches speedrun, and I'm uploading it right now. I think it was like 9 minutes or so, a little slower than the run I mentioned 2 posts back. It did include a death, which cost some time.
Wake up and be awesome
Here you go

This was a cleaner run that I just got, and deathless at that. Still far from perfect, but I guess I'll move on for now

By the way, does anybody know how to only have a link and not the entire video?
