I can't remember, but I am sure glad I found SDA.
I watched the SMB3 TAS amd thought it was real, so I searched for speedruns and found SDA. At first I didn't register at the forums, I just read the newsposts. I'm glad I finally did.

I found it back when it was opened for other games I think. Forgot exactly how, although I think it was a notice in a gaming magazine that led me here. I remember it being hosted on PlanetQuake at least. I have been watching runs since then, although I didn't sign up for the forums until I decided to start speedrunning games myself.

Searching for the Half-Life speed run after seeing the 45 minute video at a lan held at UCF (I believe it was segmented). I've been an absolute pain in the ass for Radix since then, not to mention a bandwidth leach, a source of completely useless information, VGcats comic links, insincere enthusiasm for other people's projects and have only contributed to the forum spamming by my own mass bumped threads with myself as the sole contributor that only exist because I like to listen to myself talk and think I'm intelligent.

....

Yeah.
I found some time attacks on Super Mario Bros. 3 on a forum somewhere (Have no idea what forum it was) and after that I got crazy and searched after more movies. And then I found this site and got really happy! Cheesy

Yeah, I found it with break the targets for ssmb too!
Then I saw the 5:04 that had just came out, and I lost my mind. That pretty much made me become hoplessly addicted to this site.

I think it was a google search for something like "speed demos" looking for a HL and SMW video.

I'm sure if he doesn't, a moderator would be sure to force it upon him. That and give the guy a swift kick to the crotch for this crap.

I replied in the previous thread he posted (blanket) to tell him that. I should've checked here first, though :/

They're right. CHANGE IT WE HATE IT PEOPLE WILL SAY YOU STINK AND YOU'LL BE SAD ):.

As to how I found the site; I google searched for SSBM videos and stumbled upon here.

What do you expect with a lot of people finding this site 'cause of SSBM? It's one of the greatest and best selling games ever. I still see it at Wal-Marts near me!
and I also saw Pokémon Snap at that same Wal-Mart so...

Oh, and for some records not being here, it can be that they never contacted Radix (duh), that they might be fake (we never know) or they're just plain lost somewhere and everyone forgot about them. Sad.
TIOLET!
Someone posted a link to a HL speedrun at CS forum a little over a year ago, and here I am.

Hmmmm.... I smell Sarcasm. A LOT!

Anyway, did I miss anything??
Just call me the cynicism machine
nesvideos mentions SDA a lot, so I gave it a look see about a year ago. Then I remembered that I had seen QDQ from here a year or so before that (I think). McBAIN from megazpeed telling me that mikwuyma had beaten his Megaman Zero runs sealed the deal.

It was this year in the summer. I had a problem with quake and searched for someone to ask about it. (I don't remember what the problem was) Anyway, I found SDA by google and especially the quake section which lead me to #qdq.

TSA. I watched his older Ocarina of Time speed run, and at some point, I got led to this site.

I remember when I just checked the game list for updates. I didn't even know about the news page. :-[

XD I did exactly that.

Well, actually, at first I just checked random runs. after a while I stopped going here since I watched every run I was interested in. Later on, I was bored, so I browsed to my favorites (I favorited the site the first time around) and remembered this. I actually checked most of the site.
And if onyl I could watch all but the two first episodes of FLCL ): Tongue
why did I mention that? Your name made me remember.
DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2. Am I crazy?
I saw the Half Life 2 speedrun and used Google to find a site with more speedruns. That´s how I got here for the first time. After a while I forgot this site but then Psychochild was kind enough to refresh my memory Grin

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Since a discussion about this became rampant, and popular here, I decided to just make a thread just about it.

The question is, how did you find this website? For me personally, I saw the url on a DVD my friend was showing me. We were watching Dante beat the crap out of all these dead skull things with scythes, and he noticed something called "speedruns" on the disc. We saw a few clips and at one point my friend Charles just said, "how....?" That's how I found it.

Now it's your turn o.o

So I started an ICQ chat with Gunnar and Nolan and asked "Hey guys, what do you think if we combined Nightmare Speed Demos and Muad'dib's Speed Run site. We could get it hosted on PlanetQuake and call it...."
Visit my profile to see my runs!

Yep, you might as well, because I'm going to contribute to belaboring the tangent, right now.

I totally intended to find a site with speed runs, as, after watching the SMB3 TAS video on Ebaums or something, I loquaciously and unrelentlessly explained to my friends that all I ever wanted, from the internet, anyways, was to have a site that displayed videos of games in their entirety. Lo and behold, my friend hears about the site from someone on WOW, and now, here I am.
Living the American dream, baby.

EDIT: Yes, that will be the only time in your life that you will see the word "loquacious[ly]," being used. It's so awkward, it's nearly obsolete.

There's my explanation.
[From the previous forum linked on page one. At least, now, it's in the right place.]
