Interesting bug....

In x264 coded movie files you sometimes have a very similar glitch based on broken p or b frames, but it is fixable.

I guess there is not fix for that demothingi?

That's horrible, Valve needs to fix that...
Wouldn't surprise me if they did it on purpose so we can't make speedruns.

This is excellent; I'm quite excited to see this run. So, are they making any effort whatsoever to have SDA post this, or are they waiting till they've finished optimizing the run?

This is just a conversion of the Phase1 demos that were available - Phase2 hasn't even started (and might never start?).

We're aware of this, the video will not be posted to SDA, neither are the HL2DQ team saying this. I'm also afraid that the horrible recording-bug might prevent an "Episode One"-run in the future to be put on SDA (since they don't approve of the Doom3 demos). However I don't think anybody has contacted Valve in order to perhaps find a fix for this recording and/or playback problem.

But if there isn't a fix for the problem SDA might be nice and allow it still - don't know how that will go down.

The run isn't really official btw - but have fun with it.

That REALLY hurt my eyes watching that, the "pick up a box" tricks were cool though. but even early on the van ride sequence wasn't a video but torture on the eyes. also the scarecrow thing sucks to try to watch too.

whoa, it's working and bhop shaking is also gone. unfortunately demo compatibility is broken so you can't view the old demos with the new version. but hey we got the video Cylert made Smiley

Hello, if anyone sees this, there is something wrong with the HL2DQ forums - new members cannot post ANYTHING. New members cannot even post a comment in an active thread, or contact members by email or PM or anything, ALL permissions have been removed so there is no way at all to communicate with anybody on the board if you are a new member. I just registered two new accounts and could not post in any topic or forum whatsoever on the board, just kept getting permission denied. Thanks.
