Also I tend to use roll to cancel animations after using any special ability, is that indeed faster then letting the full animation play? I noticed you still get some slow down when you roll cancel.
I'm not using any skips, no.  And after Temple of War I go back to the Tree and use that warp.  I feel like that's the fastest.  As far as roll cancelling, yeah I use it a lot.  You've got be careful rolling out of Olmec's Headbutt though, because that move takes a long time to actually hit before you roll out of it.

I just ordered a dazzle, so I'm gonna see if I can figure out how to stream sometime in the next couple weeks.  Hopefully we can discuss more then.
Man I feel stupid never thinking to try going to the tree after the temple of war. I felt stupid watching the video you linked as well as I never noticed that first tip. I need to do a slow playthrough and just look at everything again.
So how do you deal with the yellow enemies? In the early game I try to lure them into a corner, knock them up, and juggle them against a wall. Once I get the dashing derpderp I just use that the juggle them anywhere. Have you found a better way to handle them?
I just try to land with the Headbutt whenever I can, since that does the most damage.  I found a chart on GameFAQ's once, but I can't find it again.  But anyway, it said that:

Basic Punch 1st hit = 1 damage
2nd hit = 1 damage
3rd hit = 3 damage
Headbutt = 5 damage

I believe all the other specials do 3 damage, but basically this means that as long as you're not chasing the enemy to chain Headbutts, that's your fastest method of damaging enemies.
I will have to remember that, I'm sure it's faster than what I've been doing
One hand is enough.
To answer about how I know the 1:07 is segmented, I messaged and asked the player how they managed to get that time, and they told me they used the cross-saves to segment it. So yeah, straight from the player themselves.

I still haven't gone back to this game yet, too obsessed with Vanquish, but once I'm satisfied with my time in that I'm definitely picking this back up.
hey guys,

I ran this game a bunch when it first came out and now I want to get back into it. my PB is a 1:26. Hopefully I can set up a stream and practice more.

which of the new costumes are ya'll using? switching between them for different sections?

Right now I'm using Juanita for the first few fights of the game, switching to skeleton before the uppercut. I switch back to Juanita before the first temple and use that until the left door where you get the headbutt, I switch the skeleton there. I then tend to keep skeleton all the way until you get polo form, in witch case I switch to Juanita for the mandatory fight in that form. I keep Juanita until xtaby where I use Alebrije. I then use skeleton for all of the tula tree and all of the temple of war leading up to flame face, in which case I use Alebrije again. I stick with skeleton through Santa Morena up until Jaguar, once again switching to Alebrije for the boss. I use skeleton for the first two fights of the final temple then switch to Juanita and use it until after the first fight with the wind enemies. After the first wind enemies I switch to skeleton until right before the second wind enemy fight where I switch back to Juanita, and then back to skeleton right after, sticking with the until the final bosses where I use Alebrije.

It seems to be working for me but I'm sure I can tone it down a bit, right now at a PB of 1:13:37 I think it was.
The speedrun leaderboard time on Steam is only 1:48 right now. If you want your name in lights, it shouldn't be too hard.
I have considered it, but the controller I use for PC is an Xbox one, I don't think I would be quite  as fast as I am on PS3
That was my first run in a couple months, pretty bad haha. im super rusty and was kinda messing around. Now I need to unlock all the costumes.

The 360 controller was hard to get used to. I prefer the d-pad on the PS3.
Well I just purchased it on steam, going to try it with my wired madcatz xbox controller to unlock the costumes and if I don't like it I'll get some drivers for my PS3 controller. One plus is that since I no longer need a capture card I should be able to start streaming very soon.
After spending some time with the game, I can say it's something to get used to. I don't know if it's a bug or not but the game plays at about 1.5x the speed the ps3 version plays on, everything is so much faster.
Little update, turns out the game being faster is a bug caused by the vsync of the game
Considering the PC version is the gold edition, is it fair to say that using costumes won't push it into another category?
I can't say I am the most knowledgeable about that area. The only difference I have noticed is that in the PC version you have to purchase the costumes in game whereas the PS3 DLC just gave them to you.
Just managed to softlock the game. Went to piledrive a flying enemy near a roof and I think it pushed it through the roof and now I'm stuck in a locked room with no way to advance. Ouch.
I've had an issue with the PC version crashing, it happened to me twice in my first run through on it
I just headbutt juggled Jaguar, so maybe consider holding on to skeleton through that fight. You can just juggle him against the wall for almost the entire fight, making it really easy and quick.
I have tried it, while it is safer then Albrije I don't think it's faster, I need to time them both
Just got a new PB on the steam version with a 1:10:28, only 12 seconds behind the guy holding the top spot, I am pretty happy with that run.
Well I am all set up for streaming now, if posting my stream here is against any rules let me know and I will remove it

I will be streaming mostly in the evening/early afternoon for anyone interested. http://www.twitch.tv/diamonti
Alright, I just completed my casual playthrough. Going to spend some time routing on Monday and then I'm coming after you. We need to look into if Temple of War is skippable. If there are no blue barriers before Goat Fly, then it's possible. I wonder if the game acts like the Paper Mario games where you skip something and the game just gives you all previous powers when you actually pick one up?
Well, there are blue blocks in santa morena, so I don't know how doable that would be, I have been thinking about it
