Hey guys,

I'm doing a speedrun of Grandia (Playstation) at the moment.
My first test run has an in-game time of 16 hours, in the following optimizing runs I could push the time down to 14 hours.
The run will have 99 parts.

So my question is: Will such a long run be accepted at all?
The currently longest run is 12 hours long.

Thanks.

Is it going to be entertaining enough that someone would want to watch it?
I think someone who played and loved the game (like I do) will be enterteined.
I was entertained too by the 8 hours speedrun of Final Fantasy IX.

Well then I see no reason why we wouldn't accept it Smiley
so longer the run, so harder the verify. 16h is to long for me.
Waiting hurts my soul...
I think it's too early to talk about run length if you've only finished your first test run. My first test run of Vandal Hearts was 10 hours, second was 8. When I was actually going for the run I managed to get below 6, so you may surprise yourself. Keep at it!
16h is tiny compared to the 60 it takes most players to play the first time, I imagine...

According to How Long to Beat, there are a number of people reporting 40 - 50 hours. I wouldn't worry so much about the time though. You should post your route, and have those that know the game take a look at it; otherwise, you're working on your own, which is not recommended for such a long game.

I definitely agree with this. When I was working on Skies of Arcadia Legends, I was imagining a 15-20 hour run. But with some help from others and some testing, it got down to the 12 hours that was mentioned. If I tested it some more, I bet it could get even lower. So keep at it, try different things, and keep looking for ways to improve it.

Definitely would watch and verify a Grandia run. Smiley
Hey guys, thanks for your answers.
My Grandia run is finished and ready for verification. So if you are interested, you can help to get it online.
I would appreciate that.
See you!

What'd your final time end up being compared to the original 16 hour test run, out of curiosity?
The final time is round about 13.5 hours!
Hey guys,
my NTSC run of Grandia (10:17 hours) is finished and needs verifiers.
So please feel free to report.

That's a pretty big improvement outta nowhere. Looking forward to watching this.
Congrats chris_x, it's a really good run, I enjoyed watching it Smiley
