Speaking of audio, what happened to game sounds?
Gothic 1 tends to crash a lot, if the sound is activated. For example the game often can't find a sound file and instead of not playing it, it simply crashes. The very end is especially bad, because as you walk to the last priest you have what feels like an 80% chance of crashing.

an idea of what you're doing and why. Why you need those priests dead, what items you're picking up etc.
The ultimate goal in this game as in many others is to defeat the final boss. However you don't defeat him by attacking him, but by piercing the 5 hearts of the undead priests that they sacrificed to him. (The scene where I open the 5 shrines and drive a sword into them at the very end of the video.)
Each heart must be pierced with the corresponding sword that the priests carry with them.
Every other part of the story is skipped. I just enter the final dungeon, kill the 5 priests and pick up each of their swords from their inventory and then I defeat the final boss.
In terms of items I pick up 3 magic scrolls from a chest on the surface and some potions to be able to use them.
The 2 transformation scrolls are used to get past two barriers that otherwise would take a lot of time to get past.
The fire arrow scroll is used to lure the 4th priest into the trap (the big spike trap).

But yeah the way the game is being broken to pieces makes it injudicious not to at least briefly contemplate that there had to be hacks. I know there aren't, but that's the level it's on.
This will look tame in comparison to the segmented one.
