Quote from exe:

I think that i'll stream longer on some of these days but this should shown the minmum time i can afford.

It'll be nice if another streamer can stream on the other times. Especially the offline times on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, because i must go to work on these days.
...
I'll need help for the times when my stream is offline.

From my experience watching MisterMV's French restream since SGDQ 2012, you should consider letting your stream online during the entire marathon even why you're sleeping or at work. Others can still comment throught the skype call (or mumble).

Quote from CBenni:
Definitely go for mumble. Skype calls crash when the host goes offline due to internet issues, mumble servers automatically come back online.

Skype crashes aren't really a problem since if the host goes offline, the restream will aswell, and it's use for the french restreams because it's easier to organize stuff using a skype convervation

Quote from Akaikee:
I tend to use mumble just because a awesome and popular event like AGDQ is also full of trolls sometimes. When our stream gets more "popular" we have the issue that every person can find out a persons IP Adress and Open Port via the Skype name.
You don't have to show Skype names on stream

Quote from exe:
myself will commentating the whole time

I think 5 people at the same time is the maximum of a good stream session.

I don't think you (or your girlfriend) should be commentating the whole time (unless you are the only ones avalaible) because the viewers want diversity (there were 60 diffenrent people commenting at AGDQ2013's french restream)
5 people is too much, 3 should be the maximum with maybe some exceptions with 4 people commenting on longer games like RPGs

Also you'll need at least one person who knows, not only the game, but the speedrun tricks and routes of the games they'll comment. (You don't want to "What the hell happened" moment during the commentary) this advice isn't about Aweful and WTF japan games since there are really obscure games
@Gaël

We are aiming for the same thing here. But the Problem is that the german Speedrunning community is really small so we probably cant have 60 different People talking on the restream.
Letting the stream run while you at work is a really bad idea - what happens if you drop frames, your connection goes unstable or you drop all together. That would be really - really bad, thats why exe and me are restreaming in shifts.
Skype crashes are also a big Problem, atleast with my ISP - thats where the Problem lies i think. So i cant get a stable Skype call for more than 2 to max. 3 hours.
And we are still searching for commentators / speedrunners that know their game well and maybe want to commentate on their game/different games.
Only Offense Will Survive
Good idea Dominic. If you need some assistance from AGDQ, just hit me up.
Everybody's favorite monster
exe just come to agdq with me.

Ok I'm back from Work ^^

OMG Thanks for the feedback...thats great!!!
Akaikee use the same channel as me and we will contact us over Smartphone Messages if something went wrong (connections problems), so that the other one can directly continue with this. My GF is at home when I'm at work so this shouldn't be a problem when i'm at work ^^

We need Commentators now (I've contacted some German Speedrunners... but on this weekend, i'll ask much more) so that we have a diversity like Gaël said.
I Know that there are not so many Speedrunners like in the US, but there are a few.

And pls write us a message with the games/times you will join in the Stream.
Okay just as a heads up:
Im working on the Graphics for the Stream right now, and on a proper Mumble Overlay.

This weekend is the 18th Birthday of my sister, so you can figure that i probably wont be online. (Maybe i can take a look at new PMs with skype names and add them to the Call!)
exe is also away until Sunday - so both cant answer i think.

Just shoot me a PM if you have any questions and i will 100% message you back sooner or later!
Thanks for the support so far, i love to see all this growing!
I would love to participate in this. My biggest problem is that I'm Swiss and you can hear it. But if this doesn't bother you, I would definitely be up for it.

I can't say yet if I will have the time (there is something that could probably get in between), but if I have, I would even be open to comment during those "less popular" times.

Quote from Alko:
Beware that my language is only remotely similar to German xD

They didn't reject me, so you should be safe Wink
Hey, us two should comment on the same game with no other people, so there's one game no-one will understand what's going on e.e
Will alternate language restreams be advertised on the site/in the twitch bio?
This is my avatar
Of course Patashu. It's already the case with the french restream. Smiley
andypanther, aslong as you can speak german i have no problem (unless you have a reaaaally heavy accent that is reaaaally hard to understand - but in this case we could make an "audition" and i could talk to you for a couple of minutes :D)

Just shoot me a PM and i will add you to the skype group!

Ok first Post update =)

All documents are up!
Get over here!
Filled out the doc and added you on skype exe. Looking forward to agdq.
Awesome, a german restream.

I plan to take the days off from work to watch AGDQ anyways,so if I'll get the ok from my boss I could help you commentating.
INTJ
I recommend setting up guidelines on dos and don'ts when commentating. While most of the things are "obvious", there are a lot of things that are only "obvious" in hindsight Smiley
Back from a few days of having a eff'd up Computer! Awesome to see all this growing!

@WorldEater
  - i would love to have you joining us, we always could need a helping hand!

@Yagamoth
  - i certainlly will take care of that! When we get near to the start of the restream i will 1. make sure that i have spoken to atleast everybody one time and 2. they all have a pretty huge google doc with alot of information and rules all about the stream!

Ive worked out the full Stream Layout on our desktops now since exe has only one Screen i had to squeeze stuff a little bit. Also we are using VLC Player together with the plugin "Livestreamer" to restream AGDQ'14 - with that we can ensure great picture quality, good performance paired with high customizability on our end. I will contact a few persons to find out at what Bitrate AGDQ streams to make sure we can hold up to the quality of AGDQ'14.

Also im working on various graphics, but with nearly 0% progress due to my 16gb RAM frying all at once. Welp, new ram everything works now - tomorrow i will try to catch up on all the lost days!

Please keep the awesome stuff from you guys going! Me and exe are going to have a big meeting on Saturday this week to maybe discuss people and their places on the Shedule - so if you want to commentate a game really bad, fill in the form!

Have a great one,
Akaikee!

From what I've read on a few forums, I think it could be a good idea to try and interview people at the venue, either in German, or translating or whatever.

From what I read in the readmore thread, people want to be able to hear from the runners themselves and this could be a good way to try it out.
The first problem is, that translating on the fly is nothing i can do for 8 straight hours or more. Even other people would be totally overwhelmed by translating 1:1 all the time.
Interviewing People would be cool, but this has to be featured on the main AGDQ Stream because we are just a restream not a stream itself. We are basiclly just commentating the games and if something important is said by the Runner or someone else we are translating that for sure, but translating the whole stream is not managable with the few people we have.

It could be that i havent quite gotten what you wanted from me - could be that im totally exhausted because it was just a frikkin hard day Cheesy

You've totally misunderstood, yeah.

Could you try to explain again flicky?

Because I too am not sure if I understand where you are going with your post.

^ Trying to explain what I'm pretty sure Flicky meant. Interviews as a short-timed feature to actually let people from on-site speak, and not just us from our homes trying not to be boring. Nobody take this as standard German please Wink

I do wonder how that would actually work out, though. From what seems obvious, we can't interview the runner during their specific game, because they're concentrating on playing and English commentary. So it would (haha, this way you can't rant against my contractions Kappa) have to be a runner who is not playing at the very moment. However, those knowledgeable about the game are most likely sitting on the red couch … unless maybe it's a super-popular game with hundreds of people who know a lot, in which case it might be feasible to interview one of the runners (preferably a German, Swiss, East Belgian, Austrian, Liechtensteinish, Luxemburgish, South Tyrolean, Alsatian, Lorrainian, etc. one) who's not on the couch via Skype. Of course, we don't want to have pauses to miss any runs of AGDQ, and the on-site crew is doing their best to reduce the setup time to an absolute mininum …
Ah now i get what flicky means! Thanks for that Alko!
Im going to put that on the suggestion list for the meeting on saturday flicky!

Thanks!

No problem. I stuck to English because of forum rules not allowing languages other than English. Alko got around that by not talking in a language at all.
So, my free days got approved, that means I don't have to work the whole AGDQ week Cheesy
