Killer Chobocos don't get any chocolate.
I tried to search... and look through the FAQ... but I'm not good at it

ANYWAY

What are the rules for using in-game exploits (other than leaving the game world, which I already know about)...

Namely... games that allow duplication or other exploitive uses of items in a game using IN GAME methods

For example, FF4 can dupe items easy... FF6 can use items to illegally equip gear... pokemon is FAMOUS for its mesigno dupe trick.

HOWEVER... the Crystalis uses an obvious item exploit to get Warp Boots for free... and such

Any ideas on what is allowed and what isn't (or debate currently existing uses of formentioned tricks)
Thread title:
I'm gonna take a guess here and say its okay as long as you don't use any cheat codes. But I could only be partially right about that.
Probably allowed since they seem to be just glitches. If they are too different from the normal course of the game for whatever reason, they can just be considered a separate category.
I don't know much about FF, but the missingno trick would probably be a separate category.

I was actually suprised that the FF2 run didn't utilize the dupe trick. I figure if they're running from the battles anyway, it would make sense to dupe some strong throwing items.

Isn;t there a smoke bomb or something that guarantees lets you flee battle.... that could SO be duped

In FF2? Not that I know of. Besides, you can only dupe equipment that can be put in the left/right hands...

If item duping is allowed then it would (probably) be under a different category, like the way Fire Emblem has a regular and "mine glitch" category.
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
I was going to post a response to the FF2 comments here, but I figured it was more appropriate there, so check http://speeddemosarchive.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=consoles_older;action=display;num=1134352661;start=30#35 if you're interested.
