Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Excellent.  I can't wait to see it.  And the bird's name is Speedy

On a related note, since you're doing 100% (right?), it would be interesting to see how many "required items" are skippable through some sort of trick/glitch.

Lastly, does anyone else see an extremely strong resemblance to Metroid in this game?

Oh, I am going to have a FIELD DAY with that name in my commentary.

Also, Tails' Adventures has some pretty robust checks as far as 'required items' goes.  I'm interested in hearing whether all six emeralds are, in fact, required.

By the way, here are what I recall to be the 'required items' in the game (not counting the Normal Bomb and Vulcan Gun, which are available without picking anything up):

-Remote Robot
-Remote Bomb
-Napalm Bomb
-The six Chaos Emeralds
-All Sea-Fox equipment except the Spark (and MAYBE the Extra Armor - I'm curious to see someone skip that)
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
IIRC, the night vision and Large bomb are definintely required, unless you can find a way to skip the extra armor (I tried, many times, and failed miserably).

Also, since you apparently have a guide, could you post some level maps for Tails' Adventures?  I never seem to be able to find those.

Oooh, yes, forgot the Large Bomb.

Night Vision..... no.  Theoretically, it is possible to complete Polly Mt. 2 without being able to see anything - it just takes insane memorization.  I even think a human could do it if they tried hard enough, although since I'm going for 100% I won't need to test that.

Edit: Also, that guide is unfortunately text-only.  Not even any ASCII art to go with it.  I was using the only one that was on GameFAQs, with some modifications that I believe to be faster (such as going to Caron Forest before Green Island, rather than right before Coco Island like the guide does - my original reason was to have an extra emerald for Lake Crystal, but now that I know the power of the Sonic powerup, THAT'S the new reason why).

Edit 2: More bad news.  I have practically no chance of getting this run done by tomorrow night, due to various factors.  Next week, I will ABSOLUTELY MAKE SURE to get this run done.

After much waiting and some general exhaustion, I have a 100% SS run of Tails Adventures recorded.

My total time is 1 hour and 47 seconds - that's right, seconds.  I could have possibly beaten an hour if it weren't for bad incidents at Polly Mt. 2 and Battle Fortress.  However, I am getting sick and tired of running this game, and I still think it's at minimum a very solid run, so I'm going to take this as the one I will submit.  Besides, those two incidents occurred mainly because of an unresponsive controller - that's the last time I try to do a speedrun on a $12 (3rd-party) controller.

I will try to begin encoding this thing ASAP, though one of my other runs is held up at the moment.  I'll probably submit this one at the same time I submit the run in question.
