This Sunday is TTT's Games Finished Adequately event. A speed run event that will last from 11am-6:30pm on Sunday Mar. 29th and raise funds for SickKids Foundation.
What is Games Finished Adequately?
It is an 8hr block of awesomeness from local speedrunners of Toronto and surrounding areas.
What Is A Speedrunner?
Someone who performs a play-through (or a recording thereof) of a video game with the intent of completing it as fast as possible.
What Is Adequate Speedrunning?
We will try to finish games as fast as possible but our goal is to finish them adequately. Although, I'm surprised at the fact that we have known speedrunners in Toronto that can finish games with personal best times.
Why Did You Guys Decide To Take Donations This Time?
TorontoTopTiers.com have done 2 Games Finished Adequately that was enjoyed by many. We wanted to make a difference on the 3rd one hence the donations. We wanted to have fun and help an established charity at the same time.
On a side note, the number of speedrunners that sent me requests to join the event was overwhelming. I didn't know Toronto has so many. I couldn't add everyone so please stay tuned for the 4th one in the summer time.
Who Am I Donating To And What is SickKids?
Sick Kids is Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country.
What Are Speedrunners Donating On Their End?
Speedrunners will be donating $10 to speedrun their games plus creating optional challenges throughout their run. If they fail those challenges, they will decide how much to donate per failure. For example: With my Mega Man 3 run, if I fail a zip glitch, I donate $1. I have created 15 challenges that I could potentially payout in donations. So catch the stream and root for me to fail them all.
What Can You Do To Help, You Ask?
You can join us on stream where a donation link will be available that day. We will be as entertaining as we can with our speedruns. You can match our Adequate Challenges and donate as they come. A&C World is also open for casuals from 12p-6p that day so feel free to pass by at 452 Spadina ave and if possible, donate in person. There will be a donation box by the stream if you would like to donate. Any amount of donation is good donation. $1 to $10 or more if you feel generous. ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO SickKids. I will send an email to everyone who donated and thank them personally, along with the receipt to SickKids foundation.
On a side note: I'm racing Mr. MKL in Mega Man 2 for $5. Watch me use that $5 I will win to donate for SickKids. Picture to follow after I win.
