I keep wondering why the kinect for the arcade model cant be used for the Elite model.  Is there reasoning behind that?

i think it has to do with the way it is hooked up to the 360 but not 100% sure of that but the guy at gamestop asked me what 360 i had and i said i had the arcade version. Idk if they took out the USB ports on the Elite or its an older version of kintect

Power sources.

For the newer thin systems, the Kinect uses a power source built into the system.  For the older ones, it has an external power cord.

That would be the only difference in them.

If you have a power cord for it, the Kinect works for all systems.  If you don't, then it's only for the slimlines. ^^


Some GameStop people don't elaborate and that confuses people. XD

well it has a power cord but it plugs in a weird way the cord coming out of the kintect is USB and then the power cord has a 2 USB ends (one for the kintect and the other for the 360)
