Heh, amateurs...
For at least the past six months, I've been telling people I'd get to a single-segment any% speedrun of this eventually. Just recently, I did just that and am now down to a time of 32:50 ( Sorry for awful quality - http://www.twitch.tv/c0urtney19/c/1923096 ).
For those unfamilar, Frogger 2 is a different breed than that of Frogger: He's Back.
-There are no gold frogs. New zones are unlocked after completing all the levels in a chapter.
-Unlike Frogger HB, you continue at your current spot after collecting each frog. When you perish, you spawn at the location of the last frog you rescued.
-There are numerous characters you can play as in the game after unlocking them. Some frogs are more agile than others. They also produce different ambiences ( the most obnoxious being Treebie ).
-Movements are significantly faster. I believe (?) Caneofpacci said that in Frogger HB, you can move only once per 3 frames. Either way, movements are a night and day difference.
-You can land on alligator/crocodile's heads and not be eaten. ( So no more RNGator
)
-No levels are skipped in Any%. Each and every level needs to be completed.
I believe a single-segment run with no deaths can produce a time of at most 28 minutes. Up until DI5CO Lab, I have a pretty good run.
I've decided upload (all) individual levels on a YouTube playlist [ http://www.youtube.com/playlist?feature=addto&list=PLHSlXnQxVvzhGDMy4m_gNzYgPFeDQ8HBu ] for anyone interested in learning the game, although I suggest running Frogger: He's Back instead.
I'll keep everyone up to date on my progress. If you have anything to share about the game, please feel free to post.
