I'm addicted to games
I had fun, although I did miss a lot of games i wanted to see from middle of the night times... I guess that's my fault for being at an off site hotel instead of at 4H. Who'd have thought a silly thing like beating games quickly could raise over 50 thousand dollars for a worthy cause? Don't let my role as site founder fool you though, this is all Mike's doing - he is truly 'the man'.

Final shoutouts go!

Mike Uyama - I had a lot of fun talking to you during the marathon. Also thanks for driving me around and dropping me of at the airport. Listening to you singing along to Shonen Knife was awesome. I speak fluent japanese now.

Breakdown - He is the man with the van! Nice to meet you at last. I enjoyed the times we stood outside smoking together.

Nate/Lag.Com - You guys were awesome taking care of all the technical stuff.

Flip - We had some epic Mario Party going on all night long, and if you ever play Hangman with Flip and its a 5-letter word, it starts with a K!

Animeowzerz - BFF <3

PJ - Watching you play trough Lagoon in real life was more amazing then i could ever inmagine

Skullboy - Had fun watching you play Dynamite Heady. You know a lot of stuff.

Dballin/Carcinogen – Partners in crime during the Promote Cancer in Underage French Girls Foundation

Heidman – Thanks for picking me up at the airport and taking me on several foodruns. You have skills, sir.

Neskamikaze – You were one of the people I had the most fun with. You have some serious N64 skills.

MercuryZelda – Awesome at knitting, great personality and amazing Mario Party player!

Shoutout to everybody else who was there but i didnt really talked that much with, i enjoyed everybody's company. You are all amazing people.

I saw a guy in an Elmo jacket today at school and I thought of you, and probably will every time I see an Elmo anything for now on.

I bought a Tickle.Me.Xtreme Elmo at Target while driving back to Mike's place from Magfest. Also know as ROFL ELMO!
When you submit a run Elmo's Number Journey, you should have Tickle Me Elmo do your audio commentary.

I've enjoyed these lists, so I'll make my own:

Firstly I had an amazing time and the people I met fell into two categories: People who were awesome and people who I should've spent more time with because they were awesome. If you're not mentioned in the list, that's why! Being around "true" speedrunnners was such an inspiring experience and I'm really glad my run improved before I got there and I really feel I knocked the time off of it just because of the company I had. I've got a new stance on Speed Running now and it's becoming less something I do and more the best way to play video games. I said most of this to people while I was there, but I'll say it for everyone to see:

Arrow - I missed your Katamari run which I was incredible sad about, but we all missed runs we wanted to watch. After Galaxy 2 I wasn't sure what to expect of your other runs, but Mega Man 9 was awesome. Good job with the commentary and manning the Donations computer so avidly. I think a combination of us two kept that thing running for about 16 hours.

Carc - I loved the irony of having a Carcinogen at a prevent cancer marathon. On top of that I think missed all your runs, but you were really interesting to talk to on the last day and I kinda wish I'd started earlier. I made the prediction that you'd be on fire this marathon and by the sounds of things, you were.

Heidman - You're the craziest and most unique person on the planet and your strive for perfection is so amazing. You're an awesome guy and your runs are too. I don't think you can even play games normally anymore and your list of games to speedrun is baffling. Thanks to you (and trihex) my Bayonetta run is going to take even longer to record. Thanks for offering to take me to the bus again.

Uyama - Not only did you put the crazy man hours into this whole thing but you do verification and run so much of the site AND your speedruns are amazing? RKA with what, 3 weeks of practice? Few words can describe how key of a part you are to SDA. Without you, this wouldn't have happened and everyone is in your debt for it.

Feasel - You're super awesome too. Friendly, easy to talk to, damn good at video games. Thanks for eliminating my nerves of Bayonetta with some awesome Rock Band times.

TriHex - You're about as awesome as Heidman. Sucks that we missed eachothers last runs but sleep... Your runs of Crash in practice and the talk we had were really inspiring and have solidified my move after Bayonetta is done to speed run more games. You take your games to a new level and it's amazing.

TJP - You picked me up, got me food, offered to take me home. Your runs were amazing and you weren't mad when I puked in your car. <3

Kareshi - It's either extreme talent, or ridiculous amounts of practice and hard work. Either way, it's amazing.

PJ - You're one of the funniest guys I've ever met. Just watching you play a game is hilarious. You destroy them and just mess around in a totally unique way. Everything you say is a riot. You were the perfect choice for Colour a Dinosaur and you made Battletoads look like Lego Star Wars.

Pootrain - Cool that we could meet before hand and take the flight together. Same again next year?

SMK - Part of our awesome chat/donation/commentary cycle of awesomeness. You're a great guy, really friendly and humble. You need to come back next year.

JMan - The first guy I met stateside from the marathon and an awesome guy all around. I learnt a lot about poverty games from you and I have an unblemished vision of Karnov now. Want to race VVVVVV next year? We could learn it... "There's magic behind that dog house" is probably my best marathon moment.

Nate - Another unsung hero who is partially becoming more... sung. All your work is so amazing and without you, we'd be no where near what we are today. Glad to see you speedrunning. Your Prime run and commentary was some of the best from the marathon.

Breakdown - The man of course. Real nice, real awesome. Mike calling me "this year's breakdown" is such a great compliment. The DMC run was awesome and I learnt a lot from watching your practice.

Tigger - Your run is so good and I might have to learn it myself. Thanks for sort of calling out the order on chapter XIV for enemies and watching and enjoying the bayonetta practice run. Gave me a lot of confidence.

Romscout - Love the Link's awakening double threat. You pulled it off perfectly.

(list) Cosmo, Runnerguy, Jiano, Aleckermit, kirkQ & neskamikaze - You were guys I really wish I'd talked to more. Your practice for runs is so beyond what is expected it's amazing. You really put a lot into your runs. You seemed like cool guys too. Loved all your runs and races.

PEACHES_ - I forgot to get you a kit-kat, I'm sorry =( You're another cool guy and funny. Like another PJ.

moooh - More europe bias, but another awesome Swede. Glad to have you here and hang out with you so much. Will hope to see you next year.

Stanski - You were another awesome guy to hang out with and pretty inspiring. You dropped me off in DC which is awesome and I actually learnt a lot about America there. You also showed me the Washington Monument by accident so now I can pretend I saw DC.

Lag & Zelda - We talked a lot during runs. You two are cool together.

Ani - Sorry about the whole Mum calling the room thing. I was so out of it I didn't even know what was going on and I'm sorry if she got mad. Your single button press is so godly. 173 in 10s is just stupid.

Denton - Food runner for the ages. So selfless and generous. Good to see you come alive during the Lego Star Wars run. I feel I owe you one.

~Others~
Mike89 - I was sad to see you weren't here this year but it must be hard to come from Australia so that's fine. I really wanted to meet you and I was glad I at least got to hear to you over skype a bit. Thanks for the compliments, they mean a lot. Come next year if possible!

Puwexil (and others who didn't run) - It was awesome to see people who weren't running come. If my bayonetta was bad I was going to be a guest too. You (puw specifically) were cool to talk to and it was nice to have you guys about.

Everyone on this list + more, please come back next year. I will do everything I can to come next year. Short of deaths or weddings, nothing will stop me. Thanks so much for all the compliments  you gave out, they really mean a lot me and I worked especially hard to try and live up to your standards. Next year I will have a way better Bayonetta run and hopefully some other games too. All of you who did donations, chat and commmentary, good job for doing the extra work and for everyone who ran a game - you guys did an awesome job putting yourselves out there like that. I had such an amazing time in a cool relaxed atmosphere and it felt like an amazing holiday more than a charity marathon.

It was definitely hard to go back to work yesterday, and not just because of lack of sleep. Sad  This was by far the most fun week I've had in a very long time, and I'm already looking forward to next time!

Mike - For doing a great job organizing everything and working so hard to make sure that not only was the marathon successful, but that everyone involved had a great time too.  Since I know Mike donated to PCF (despite being outbid by Breakdown's mom on Edge), I can safely say that Mike is "the MAN"!

Nate and Lag.Com - For the outstanding work keeping the stream running smoothly despite all of the setup changes for console switches and races.

MercuryZelda and Aitamen - For the great prizes that undoubtedly helped us smash the donation goal.

SMK - For the sweet donation tracking app that made running the "Donation Station" PC so much easier than it otherwise would have been.

Tigger77, Flicky, Pootrain, Mooh, Trekhaak, Lag.Com - For crossing hemispheres to come to the marathon.  Since SDA is a worldwide community, it was great to have them here.

Whoever brought the projector (Carcinogen, I think?) - Made watching from outside the streaming room more of a community experience than a bunch of people staring at their own laptop screens.

Essentia and Denton - For driving me to the 4H Center and numerous other places, and for being awesome people in general.

PJ and TJP - For driving me to Mike's house and then the airport after the marathon.

All donators and stream viewers, without whom we couldn't say "SDA defeated Cancer"!
You got a deletion wish?
Had a great time.  I want to submit my Thexder Neo run, barring any improvements in the near future.  (While I'm satisfied with the 8:16 in-game, I'm going to gun for under 8 mins)

Ess - the text was from me.  And again, congrats on breaking the old 100; Probably need to play the game again now.  Loved the food runs with Denton.

Mike Uyama - BIG SEXY FTW!

Emptyeye - Happy Trails (in Pardon the Interruption fashion) to your single life!

This is what happens when a brotherhood of hardcore gamers (some more than others) get together and haul ass on their favorite games (or not-so-favorite in the case of Carcinogen and RE4!)
I want off the ride....
Sooo been trying to think of what i'd say, but i'll get what i want to get out now...

Arrow - Sorry for my burn while i was commentating. I was seriously just about to plug what you said when you said it, and well quick wits got a hold of my tongue before i censored it. Sorry d00der i didn't mean to sting that bad =x

Jiano - sorry if i said something wrong, you did freaking amazing this marathon!

Glamador - Sorry i completely trolled you when you texted me, it was gonna happen. it was fun though right?

-------

Viewers - Sorry i wasn't loud enough to quiet the room, while I am meek I know i have the volume of voice to shut up a room but i'm usually more content to listen... Also sorry about making the re4 disc a raffle instead of a bid war. It probably totally should have been the latter but i said raffle when it happened (and it was the marathon theme) so i rode with it...

Runners - I'm really sorry if i ever spoke over you or something while i commentated. Was just trying to do my job..

Chat mods - Thanks for doing a great job, sorry that people didn't like using mIRC on my laptop to receive updates on donations (didn't get read, don't read my name, etc etc).

----

Then to all thanks for coming out and meeting me. I really don't have much to say that hasn't been said. a lot of thanks to those who got me food, those who played games, etc etc. Just thanks to all of you.

Well, I took too long writing up my shouts so now my "reserved" post is buried.  Time for a new one!  Note that these shoutouts are in the order in which names appear in the master list of participants, just so I don't forget anybody.  Here goes!

mikwuyma - Thanks for doing so much to make this possible, and for letting me crash at your place for the last day!  This wouldn't have happened without you, and I really appreciate all the work you put into this to make it possible.  All of your runs were amazing and your commentary was really entertaining.  Smiley

Flip - Thanks for manning the commentary/donation station for so long!  Definitely not something I could do.  It was great to meet you and I enjoyed our chats, even if they were mostly just venting frustrations.  Haha.

Mercury - It was great to meet you!  Your knitted items looked amazing.  ^_^

Lag - You are a very funny guy.  I definitely enjoyed talking with you, even if you don't know the meaning of good games.  Haha.  Thanks for helping out with all the tech details for this.  I don't know what we would have done without you and Nate in charge of everything.  Congrats to you and Emily, too!  I'm very happy for you two.

Pootrain - My poverty brother!  Co-op Lawnmower Man was perhaps the most fun experience of the entire marathon.  I had an absolute blast playing that game with you, and definitely look forward to planning some runs of this.  You have a great sense of humor and an even better taste in games.  Haha.  I hope to see you again at the next SDA event.

Trekhaak - Sorry I missed your BK run.  Even though you say it sucked, I know you're just lying.  So does Rare.  Haha.  It was great to finally meet you.

Tigger77 - Oh man.  Where to begin?  Well, I'm glad you finally got a flight that wasn't cancelled.  Haha.  Sorry about that luck.  It was very unfortunate.  You are a riot though.  I really enjoyed our conversations and many hours logged in front of the projector just staring in awe at the viewer count and donation total.  Tongue  You have absurd talent in Link's Awakening, even though you don't think so.  I loved watching your run.  I'm glad you got to experience Lagoon firsthand, too.  Your trip would not have been the same without that experience.  I think I still owe you that cigar too, now that I think about it.  Definitely next time I see you we'll settle that.

UraniumAnchor - Had a great time talking to you and watching your Blaster Master run.  I unfortunately missed the Metal Storm run, but I'll be checking that out when the videos are posted for sure.  You are amazingly good at BM, and it is a pleasure to watch you destroy the game that gave me so much difficulty when I was younger.

Emptyeye - You are a really great guy.  I had a blast meeting you and talking to you at the marathon, mostly about how bad we both are at Battletoads.  Haha.  Great job during the race, again!  You nailed the rat boot using the more difficult setup AND without audio cues.  Very, very impressive.

Flicky - You, sir, are a fucking riot.  Every time I talked with you I was laughing the entire time.  Hell, I watched your entire Bayonetta run without ever having even seen the game before because your commentary is so brilliant.  I really wish you stuck around for longer, but I can understand why you left early.  Next time you and I definitely have to do some commentary together.

Nate - Thanks so much for getting all of the tech stuff set up for us.  It worked brilliantly, from what I could tell.  That stuff is way over my head, so I'm so glad to see someone competent taking charge of it.  You are truly impressive at what you do.  Cheesy

Kirkq - It was great to meet the man behind the 7th Saga TAS!  Sorry I didn't get to show you the game in person, but I'll make sure you see more than enough of it in the future.  Haha.  I had a great time chatting with you and showing you Lagoon.  You're a very funny guy.

Moooh - It was great to meet you!  Thanks for taking charge of the equipment thread and making sure all of us knew what to bring here.  Definitely helped me out, and I'm sure others feel the same.  You have a great sense of humor and a lot of talent.  Also, sorry for not knowing we shared a room for the first few days.  I promise it was nothing personal.  Hahaha.

Mickey_mage - Awesome run of Mickey!  I was very impressed.  You're a really cool dude.  It's a shame we were fighting over floor space in good ol' room 16 for the entire marathon.  Hopefully next year that won't be an issue.

SMK - Thanks for letting me "help out" with your Pokemon Yellow run.  Your commentary was brilliant and the run was very entertaining, even if in unexpected ways.  Damn Venonat...

Vorpal - Your RKA and Super Metroid runs were really entertaining to watch!  Sub-42 or bust next year.  Tongue

tri-hex - I feel like I've known you for years.  I had a great time shooting the shit with you and trying to play smash with you in the middle of the night, when neither of us were coherent at all.  You are a monster at Yoshi's Island!  It was definitely one of the most entertaining runs of the marathon.

neskamikaze - You are awesome at SSBM!  Sorry for being so bitter about some of those matches.  That's just the way I am with that game now.  Tongue  You are a very talented gamer and an incredibly nice guy.  I hope to see you again at the next marathon.

Breakdown - You are indeed the man.  Your Zelda runs were so good, even if you don't think so.  I loved watching you play through those.  You brought so much life to the marathon when you showed up; your commentary and donation station reading are so lively!  You definitely boosted my spirits more than once during this week.  It's a shame you couldn't have been there for longer, but I completely understand.  Thanks for everything!

puwexil - It was great to meet you and chat about Illusion of Gaia and other games during the last few days of the marathon.  I'm really looking forward to your progress with that run, and hope to help out as much as I can.

Feasel - You seem so casual about these games, but you utterly destroy them.  It is always a pleasure watching you play through RCR, and your Snake Rattle 'n Roll run was astonishing!  That game is so brutal and you made it look like a children's educational game.

stanski - You are a riot.  Haha.  There are really too many things to mention from that week, but I guess I can summarize it: 1) Sonic 2 got raped; 2) $100 clutch donation for Don; 3) Driving in DC sucks ass.

Sir VG - Awesome run of AR.  I wish I could've made it a bit more competitive, but I guess that's what I get for practicing on an HD TV and then competing on a standard-def TV, eh?  Tongue  It was great to meet you.

UltraJMan - Lawnmower Man is an awesome game.  Bad game exchange fail.  Great job on Metroid and NG, but very poor job on your puns.  Haha.  Really though, you're a very funny dude and I very much enjoyed our conversations, even if it was mostly picking on bad games.  Nice job being the only other person to beat Natela during the Lagoon bonus stream.  Wink

Tjp7154 - You are definitely the nicest guy I've ever met.  Thanks for giving so many people rides to/from the airport/food/Mike's house/etc!  Your DKC absolutely blows my mind, even just when you are practicing.  Absolutely nuts.  Keep up the great work!

Josh the Funkdoc - It was nice to see you again!  Sorry I missed all the CV block, but I heard you crushed it!  Very nice job.  I'll definitely have to check out the runs when they are uploaded.

Heidman - Co-op Contra and Super C was such a blast.  That was incredibly fun, even if we only made it a few levels into the game.  Hahaha.  Sorry I kept making you laugh and threw off your button mashing, but I had to do whatever it took to make myself look superior.  You're a really funny guy and you have so much talent.  Try to not be so hard on yourself; you do very good work.

Kareshi - It was a pleasure to finally meet you!  I'm sorry I slept through Ghosts 'n Goblins; I'll have to check it out when it is posted.  You rocked SGnG so hard though, even after dying on level 6 with the Goddess Bracelet.  Your recovery there was so amazing.  The piano accompaniment to Btoads was so good!  It was definitely worth playing without audio cues.  Hahaha.  Thanks for taking the time to learn all the songs and make the race that much more enjoyable, and of course for throwing the surprise cameo final battle music in.  I definitely needed a good laugh at the end of that race.  Smiley

Animeowzerz - Had a great time talking to you about really shitty games.  Sorry your Dora run got insta-rejected by tjp's awesome might, but you were asking for it.  Really, you were.  You even said you wanted us to verify your run right there, so he did.  That'll teach you.

PJ - I hate you.  Go die.  You suck at Battletoads.

romscout - It was nice to meet you finally!  Sorry I missed the SotN race, but as with the other runs I missed, I'll definitely check it out when it is posted.  Also, you slept through Lagoon bonus stream.  Shame on you.

PEACHES - Thanks for showing me some stuff in Blast Corps.  You are amazing at that game.  I was not aware of how terrible it was until I saw it in person and saw Ani struggling through the stages.  You are definitely a master.

Rane - Awesome job commentating on the runs.  Definitely not easy to step up to the plate, especially during the graveyard shifts.  Also, mad good FF4 finale!  Definitely the epic closer we needed for the marathon.

Skullboy - Genesis Battletoads is the biggest PoS in the world.  Sorry I had to keep reminding you of this throughout the marathon.  Haha.

andrewg - As always, it is a pleasure to see you.  It's a shame you couldn't stay for longer or hang out at the 4H center for most of the marathon, but that's understandable.  I had a lot of fun watching your Mario runs!

Sinister - You are unbelievable at MTPO!  I was just sitting behind you the entire run, laughing at how absurd your tricks were.  Seriously.  Unbelievable.  You are also a really cool guy to hang out with.  I wish you could've stayed for more than just Friday.

Sorry for the large laundry list of shouts, but it really was necessary.  I could continue for hours with shouts and favorite highlights from the marathon, but I had to do my best to condense everything.  I felt like I knew most of you for years before the event.  It really was a fantastic event, and one I am definitely looking forward to in the future.

Edit:  Of course, I forgot some people somehow.

We all scream for Eyes Cream
Ok now that I'm a bit more focused it's Sewious time on my shoutouts. I'm not that good so bear with me. In no exact order whatsoever, here are my shoutouts.

Mike Uyama: I feel like we talk a lot more on Ustream than in person, but actually meeting you was a treat. Watching you play in person is also a lot better than on Ustream. My only wish was that you sang more during the marathon.

Breakdown: The man is truly the man. MJ's Moonwalker was a lot more interesting than I thought and I feel like playing it at some point, and Earthworm Jim for the 2nd year impresses me.

Nate: It was a treat to see you play Metroid Prime before it was time for your run and (somewhat) talk to you outside of the marathon. Good to know even though your the techy of SDA you can still play your games. I wish you didn't shave the beard though.

Emptyeye: When I saw the marathon last year your loud voice made an impression, as well as your TMNT run. This year was no exception as Final Fight was one of the most interesting runs to me at the marathon. Also the Subway run while you wore that hat and cape was great. It was definitely a treat to meet you. And again, congrats on your marriage.

Lag.com: Definitely not the type of guy I was expecting, but quite a hilarious guy in the end.

MercuryZelda: The knitted hats and plushies are so adorable and I really hope you can make that plushy I requested. Hopefully you got that email and will let me know if you didn't or if I'm missing any information. At the same time, I hope I can pay you by the next marathon.

Carcinogen David Hayter: Definitely one of my favorite people to meet at the marathon. Sorry about the USB stabbing though. I tried making the stabbing realistic while trying not to hurt you, though I'm sure it doesn't seem it. I enjoyed all your RE runs, especially the end of RE4 for obvious reasons.

RaneofSoTN: I'm pretty sure you know what I'm planning on saying. You probably don't want it brought up so I'll leave it aside for now. You were a great commentator, RE5 co-op looks better with you and Carcinogen doing it, RCR was hilarious at the end with you killing off Feasel, and Final Fantasy was definitely a good way to end the marathon. Definitely one of the best people to meet at the marathon.

AndrewG: My only regret is we barely talked as well as missing the Mario Bros games. Hopefully we'll run into each other on the MBTA someday.

Arrow: Another good commentator, and your Mega Man 9 run was impressive. It's been a while since I've played it but I might load it up sometime later today.

Heidman: I didn't talk with you much, but you're definitely interesting in person. It was strange seeing you in person though cause I almost didn't recognize you. X2 was definitely a good game to watch up close. Thanks for the food run to BK.

UltraJman: I hate that I missed your Ninja Gaiden and Metroid runs, knowing full well it would be interesting, but unfortunately I couldn't stay awake anymore after sitting through Halo to X4 with barely any sleep. You're definitely one of my most favorite people to meet at the marathon and I regret not knowing you had a Youtube channel(The terminated one, not the new one), which is ironic since I had a short talk with my buddies at Hellfire Comms about you. Your puns were mostly funny, your La-Mulana run makes me want to play it even though I want to try the Wii version, your KH stories were fun, and honestly I don't know anyone else I'd want next to me while playing any KH game, or maybe any other game we have in common. Just be careful with that shovel, don't wanna find out your puns dug you deep into the ground.

Trihex: Yoshi's Island last year was fun, and this year was even more fun. Your Crash Dance was also funny, and you should so do it again. Good thing the commentary cam has it. Cheesy

Tjp7154: Thanks a lot for helping me out when I needed to get to the airport on the last day, as well as taking me for food and even buying me my sub one day. I wish I won those DK and Diddy plushies and I kinda want that Star Fox Coffee shirt. Glad I got pictures to remember them. DKC was one of my favorite games when I was a kid, and seeing it played like that was fun. Unfortunately I slept through a portion of Prime 2 so I'll have to watch it once its released.

Essentia and Denton: I would save the best for last but I don't like giving special treatment...wait I just gave it away.  I think out of everyone at the marathon, I talked to both of you the most. Your teachings about the DKC2 enemies, Chrono Trigger, Lego Star Wars, and the random discussions we've had along with the food runs were probably some of the greatest moments of the marathon. Celise definitely is a cutie though and hopefully she'll grow up to be like her mother, speedrunning a Final Fantasy game. I forgot if I said it, but thanks for offering your Sesame Chicken. I would of ate more but I felt guilty enough you offered it to me. I also feel bad I wasn't there for CT and helping you with Zeal HP counting. Sad I blame Jetblue.

Josh the Funkdoc: Castlevania never looked so interesting.

Kareshi: Your piano playing during Castlevania(I missed Pianotoads unfortunately) was great to hear. I only wish we got only the piano playing for the commentary sound to fully enjoy it. You should record yourself playing some of the songs for us to listen to someday.

Sir VG: Thanks again for picking me from Dulles and helping me with flights and such. I would of left a note with the money I left you but I had no paper and was in a hurry, and had no plans to go back upstairs. Oh and my friend still wants you autograph, which I forgot to get. I wonder if I should ask you to sign a piece of paper and send it to her.

Satoryu: When I saw you I said to myself, "No way that's him. I can't see that voice fitting him." Boy was I wrong. Your audio commentaries don't do you justice in person. Even though you had the chat up next to me during KH2 in an effort to distract me(successfully), it was great talking with you when I did, even though I made bad references to your audio commentaries.

Romscout: I wish I was there for Kirby Super Star, but watching Mega Man X and SoTN was still fun, even though we barely said much to each other.

PJ: Lagoon. That is all. That and Rane made me play it and bet I wouldn't get past the 2nd dungeon before Sons of Libery ended, only for me to beat it during the middle of Twin Snakes. Hurray Save States!(And boss luck)

Trekhaak: Thanks for trying to get me an earlier ride from Dulles even though I arrived an hour after you sent me that text and left. Banjo Kazooie wasn't one of my favorite games but you made me want to play it again. Plus your swearing was interesting to say the least, if only cause it was in a foreign language. Maybe I just find it interesting. Sorry to have left in the middle of BK, but I needed food or I'd pass out.

Moooh: You may not have been Frezy, but your Swedish accent is definitely...........okay that might get taken the wrong way. I don't know if my friend heard it but she would fall in love with the accent like she did with Frezy's. Like Breakdown, I enjoyed watching you play Earthworm Jim, and while I don't have much experience with Genesis Aladdin, I enjoyed that as well.

Stanski: I wanted to play Sonic 2 with you, even though I'd fail...horribly.

Flicky: Bayonetta didn't seem interesting to me till I saw you play it. I blame your accent as well. I would of gave you ideas on places to go in Boston since you're visiting here soon(Or are, I don't think you told me when you were) but I barely know many places. I guess I can recommend Museum of Fine Arts if you'd like. Unfortunately I barely know too much of the downtown area.

Arkarian: I honestly didn't like Uncharted, if only because I don't have a PS3 to play it, but watching it was interesting, especially when you got out of bounds somehow. And the game has a glitch that freezes up in a specific spot? What the hell developers?!?! Release a patch already!

Molotov: Sorry I couldn't CC NG+ race with you cause of flight cancellation. I might not of done it though since I wasn't too confident. Even with MagNegate I had horrible luck against TD so I wasn't too confident and even thought about dropping the race.

puwexil: Glad I could get you interested in some casual speedrunning of KH2.

The people who were there I didn't mention: I either rarely talked to you much to get to know you or I barely know what to say to/about you. Hopefully if you're around next year we can talk more and such.

Nate: [...] I wish you didn't shave the beard

well that's a first ...

edit: some random thoughts. will add more as i think of something intelligent to say.

lag.com: everyone's thanking us but i guess we're the only ones who know what we actually did. i am so grateful to you for staying with me during that horrible first day troubleshooting driver hell and h.264 streaming on my good laptop. thinking back now, i wonder whether we couldn't have used that nice laptop anyway, given that the problem was apparently between fme and ustream broadcaster, and we ended up not using ustream broadcaster. funny.

lag also handled the setup for all pc games for those who didn't know. he was truly essential in that capacity as i have never done anything like that before.

m.zelda: i was moved to see you working so hard for the marathon under the most dire of conditions. i had severe asthma as a child so i feel like i have a unique perspective on your (i hope) ultimately successful struggle to enjoy the event despite your body trying to get in the way. rock on!
Talk to the Hand
The mountain man beard, though! I totally didn't recognize you when I first met you in person without it!

Anyway, Silver (Or the now-official "Mrs. Emptyeye") and I are finally home from our whirlwind week and a half.

I guess first I want to thank anyone either here, or who just happened to be watching the stream that is now reading this, that said anything along the lines of "It's Capeguy yessssssss" during the chat. I like feedback, especially positive feedback, and it's great that people liked the cape and/or my commentary.

Speaking of which, thanks to Mike and Breakdown in particular for having enough faith in my skills to let me commentate more-or-less whenever I asked. Sorry it took me awhile to warm up to it, but hopefully I did okay on balance--I mainly had to adjust to the fact that yes, it is okay to talk over anything that isn't reading donations/comments or the runner speaking.

Thanks to PJ for kicking my ass in Battletoads. I appreciate the sporting effort you gave to let me back into the race with the cool level 9 glitch, but you know, I wanted to be sporting right back and so refused to take the opportunity (Yes, that's the ticket, I didn't just stupidly die or anything like that...). Wink Great race, though. Thanks also to Kareshi for doing the whole Pianotoads thing one more time.

tri-hex's YI run was amazing as well. Really, so many clutch moments through the entire marathon--JMan's Metroid finish, Uyama finally 1CCing Final Fight for the first time while half-asleep (My personal highlight of the marathon, although it admittedly wasn't as flashy as some other moments), and of course Rane's finale.

Thanks to MercuryZelda and Lag.Com for, in addition to handling various chat modding/techy duties during the marathon, being super cool to room with. Smiley I just wish we could've actually had proper conversations more than that 15 minutes or so the last night in bed before we left (before anyone asks, it was 3 different beds...Lagcury in one, Silver in another, and myself in a third, because I'm not sleeping with another person in a twin bed, haha). We'll have to do that again next year...maybe this time with 2 double beds. Tongue

And really, thanks to everyone who came out, especially the European contingent. Tigger, I'm glad you finally got a flight, although it would've been amusing to see you at MAGFest due to continued difficulty obtaining flights. Tongue More seriously, I complain about the 7 hours or so that Silver and I have to drive there, but that's nothing compared to trans-continental flights/jet lag/etc that you guys deal with to come out here...to say nothing about commenting and communicating in what may not be your first language. I know I'd be totally lost if, say, the Swedish equivalent of SDA told me "Hey we'd like you to fly to Sweden for a charity marathon...and by the way, you'll have to comment in Swedish as well."

I'm forgetting so many people here. Everyone involved, from the 4H Center to the PCF, to the runners and donators, to the people who just came and hung out, were all amazing, and I can't wait to do it again next year. Smiley
Hi! I'm andrewg!
I'm lazy. I love you all. SDA is the greatest. I can't wait to do it all again next year! It was a blast to see old faces as well as meet new people. I didn't get to talk much with people as the amount of time I spent at the event was pretty limited this year unfortunately. Sad I can never seem to devote enough time to come down for this event.

Anyway, you guys all rock, I enjoyed every speedrun I watched (even with all the mistakes everyone had, myself included). Hopefully I can chat with people more next time around.

so pro u don't even know
Well I was only at the marathon for ~8 hours this year, but every minute of it was packed with awesomeness.

Andrewg - Great seeing you again, you are such a laid back positive person. Keep being awesome plz.

Breakdown - You definitely live up to your moniker of "the man." I am really glad you did commentary for my run it helped me out a lot. Oh and thanks for taking care of Great Tiger for me Wink

Dinner crew - the mall adventure, as I like to call it, was very enjoyable, glad I got to spend some time away from the venue with some very cool folks.

Emptyeye - That cape was pretty badass, and you are probably the only person that could pull that off. Also, congrats on your marriage!

Feasel - Really good talking to you man. I wish you good luck with the boatload of runs you have in your queue, I know your gonna obliterate those games.

Heidman - Very nice to finally meet you. Watching you play was awesome, your mashing is so ridiculous. I admire your drive for perfection and that you never settle for good enough. Keep pushing the limits.

Kareshi - That piano playin is magical. I am so glad I got to be there in person this time for Pianotoads, it met my every expectation and then some.

Mike - Great job putting this all together. I got to catch your TMNT IV run from home, and it was sweet.

PJ - I am glad I got to meet you this year. You are a super cool guy to talk to and I really enjoyed watching all the new tech you have in Battletoads.

Tri-hex - I made sure to stick around to watch you play this year and I am glad I did. Very impressive and fun to watch gaming.

Vorpal - thanks for talkin Super Metroid with me, I learned a few things. I hope I will be able to race you sometime in the next few years.

UltraJman - I did not get to meet you but I certainly got to admire your awesome runs. That 6-2 damage boost made my night. Then the most clutch moment of the marathon as a follow up performance, are you kidding me?!?! Congrats sir, very well done.

Admin - all the people who did tech support, commentating, or anything else that helped the event run so smoothly. Great job all!

Anyone else I am forgetting because everyone at the venue was very friendly and awesome to talk to. I hope to spend more than 24 hrs at the next marathon and I hope to see the following people there that were absent this year: DK28, Frezy, Jprophet22, and Tiki (who is apparently my long lost younger brother).
I survived MIKE-Fest 1

wise fwom yo gwave
I really want to say thanks for all who have said i was a nice guy/easy to talk to/helped them out... It honestly makes me feel so good about myself to read that even the small things like giving up a sandwich or giving people rides were appreciated! Sorry I'm not going to go through and do an individual thanking list cuz i'm lazy, but I really am surprised so many people thought i was nice/funny/helpful because that just doesn't happen often in my life.
I didn't participate in the marathon, or even watch that much (caught a little of Kirby Super Star) but I'd like to say...

Damn, FIFTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS? Pretty amazing.

It's time for some HEErooooOOOOHi cs!
Oh man, I have so much to say and I really hope I don't forget anybody. Before I go into specifics though I want to just shoutout to everyone that showed up and participated, I'm sure at one point or another I had a conversation with almost all of you and it's incredible how tight of a community we have here, everyone is so nice in general and the marathon is easily the most fun and exciting thing I've ever participated in. With that said, time for the big shoutouts!

Mike Uyama: Thanks for both organizing the marathon and allowing quite a few of us to stay at the Mikefest house. It was a pleasure meeting you and just talking with you in general as there was almost always something fun to discuss when around you. Also, thanks for driving me back to the airport at way too early in the morning haha. Try not to get caught in any "sticky situations" before the next marathon hahaha.

Romscout: One of my good buddies and part of the room 5216 crew, always fun to hang out with you and sorry you got sick! Thanks for being around to support during my runs, I also really enjoyed our tag team take on Link's Awakening as well as Castle Crashers. Also thanks for the totally awesome christmas/birthday gift! I hope you enjoy Gigawing Generations just as much. Just remember, there's magic behind that dog house ;o

Flicky: You are too awesome, you were the first person of the SDA crew I got to meet along with Pootrain and it was just easy to talk to you. I'm so glad I was able to bring you so swiftly into the realm of poverty gaming with our talks of Lawnmower Man and Karnov. Sorry I missed most of your Bayonetta run, I was just so out of it I had to snag some sleep. I wish you could've stayed longer, but hopefully you had fun up in... Boston I think it was? Either way, I look forward to seeing you at the next marathon! A VVVVVV race sounds like a surefire winner to me, so I'll definitely keep it in mind.

Mickey_Mage AKA FisherRob: Another part of the room 5216 crew. It was a blast hanging out with you, not to mention your Mickey's Magical Quest run kicked some major ass. I'll never forget our late night gas station run with the crazy lady who thought our hair looked alike and magically guessed your first name, not to mention your awesome GPS that found "Five Guys Burger and Friday" haha. Thanks for driving us around late at night and also thanks for all the support during practice streams and during my runs at the marathon!

TJP: Thank you so much for picking us up from the hellacious Dulles airport, traffic seemed hideous and I'm glad that you came and got us, I didn't get to talk to you nearly as much as I wanted but you're pretty much how I imagined; one of the nicest dudes ever. I enjoyed our random car convos on the way to the marathon as well as your immense enthusiasm during the poverty games you played. Your DKC run was also incredible and I'm glad I was there for it.

Pootrain: Part of the amazing poverty crew, you were a fun guy to talk to. I had waaaaay too much fun watching you and PJ play through Lawnmower Man and really felt for you guys when you reached the obnoxious Doomplayer. I also immensely enjoyed your runs of Tony Hawk and Trials HD, those usually aren't my type of game but you managed to make both look highly impressive and it was a joy to watch, hopefully we can hang out again next marathon.

PJ: Another part of the awesome poverty crew as well as the room 5216 group, you are a hilarious guy. I'm glad I got to discuss so much poverty stuff with you, and the late night burger king run was a lot of fun, even if no BK was actually involved. Great job on all your races, and sorry I hit you with so many pun-believable puns. I look forward to your speedrun of Lawnmower Man as well as the amazing Lagoon, I'm glad I finally got to play a bit of it after which I purchased the cart with almost no hesitation. Maybe someday we could have the poverty race of the ages in it!

Axel Ryman: It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and also definitely one of my favorite people to hang with, I'm still blown away by your performance during the blindfolded Xaldin fight. I learned some interesting things and strats about KH2 during the time we got to hang out, and had a lot of very fun conversations about pretty much everything. You're a really cool dude and I'm sad you couldn't stay longer, really though I'm glad we were able to squeeze so much info and fun out of the commentary during KH2 and I really hope to see you at the next marathon! I'll try not shovel too many puns off on everyone next time haha.

RaneofSotN: Another room 5216-er Hanging out with you was about as much fun as I imagined, I enjoyed all our conversations and nearly had a heart attack when you almost nailed the SotN glitch. Regardless, your runs were all great and I have to award you with clutch kill of the century despite quite a few people saying my Metroid run took that. Your Zeromus fight was incredible really, and on top of the clutch kill your commentary was great. I saw you at that station so much I honestly wondered if you even got a chance to leave sometimes haha. Looking forward to seeing you at the next marathon.

Breakdown: Fantastic job on the commentary and on all of your runs. I think I only got to talk to you a few times, but I remember talking during your Link to the Past practice run being pretty enjoyable even though I'm about 90% sure I fell asleep sometime in the middle of it just due to pure exhaustion haha. Keep on being the man as well as a cool dude in general, you definitely made the marathon a livelier place just by being there.

Nate: I'm not even sure I had a chance to talk to you, but I have to give mad kudos for taking care of a lot of the tech problems we had as well as Prime even though I only caught some stuff here and there.

Lag.com: It was definitely fun talking to you over at the giant donation station as I'm calling it, as well as hanging out after the marathon. You're a fun guy to talk to and I enjoyed all the discussion we had, also thanks for setting up that Star Trek game during the marathon after-party haha. I may have been barely awake enough to play it but it was definitely poverty tier. I hope to see you at next year's marathon!

MercuryZelda: You and TJP really compete for the nicest person ever award, seriously. It was awesome to meet you and we had a lot of fun discussions, I'm glad you and others were there that first night of Metroid practicing to really take the edge off of running that game, it meant a lot to be able to just walk into the center and almost immediately be talking to people and having people come talk to me and you were one of the first to do so. Also, your plushies and hats were all way too awesome and I can't express enough how adorable most of them were, I'll have to commission you for something one of these days but I imagine right now you have about a million billion others after the marathon hahaha. Either way, I hope to see both you and Lag at next year's marathon, and congrats once again on the engagement!

Carcinogen: Anyone who breaks an RE4 disk is an instant friend of mine haha. That aside though it was fun hanging out with you, and the first night of the MGS runs with you and Cody Miller was way too fun. I'm glad I got to meet you and next time you smash a disk warn me first so I can be around for it hahaha!

AndrewG: I think I got to say about two things to you at all, but I just want to give mad props for being able to run so many different games in a row. Looking forward to seeing what you churn out next year.

Arrow: Great job on the commentary, you did a very good job keeping the stream rolling and an awesome job on all your runs. Sure Mario Galaxy 2 didn't go as planned, but you kept it moving and that's what's important. Very nice job once again.

Heidman: I wish I could've talked to you more cause you are an awesome dude. Your Contra and Super C runs were just mind blowing and I literally can't fathom how you found either of them to be bad runs, your skill is pretty much unparalleled and all I can say is keep on doing what you do and don't be so hard on yourself!

Trekhaak: I didn't say much to you, but your Banjo Kazooie run was great to watch and even with deaths it was impressive. All I can say is it happens, that's the thing of running games live.

Tigger77: You are such an awesome guy, your enthusiasm for the runs and your skill at Link's Awakening are fantastic. I would've loved to have talked to you more but I think I only ran into you a few times while I was there, so hopefully if you show up next year we can chat some more!

UraniumAnchor - Both Blaster Master and Metal Storm were fun to watch and you're a cool dude to talk to in general. Glad I got to meet you and I hope to see you at next year's marathon as well!

Emptyeye - You're just an awesome dude in general, and congrats once again on your marriage! I just want to thank you for showing up in so many of my streams and just hanging out in general. On top of that, your commentary at the marathon was great and the cape was totally awesome!

Tri-hex - Yoshi's Island being decimated was fun to watch, and even though your Crash 2 run didn't go anywhere near as planned I had a lot of fun doing commentary with the few others that were there at that time. You're a pretty chill dude and I'm glad the commentary was able to help take the edge off of running it a bit.

Feasel - I'm pretty sure I did all my practice runs on his NES haha. I also gotta say awesome job on Snake Rattle n Roll, that game looks like a chore to play but you make it look so easy! I can't remember if it was you or Kareshi who helped me during my last minute late night Metroid practice, but shoutouts to both of you for great runs!

Stanski - I rode in your car once and didn't get to talk much but you're a legit funny dude, you've got some awesome marathon moments and you absolutely decimate Sonic 2. Keep on being a cool dude, as well as Uyama's Alternative Beast!

Sir VG - You saved me from a night full of thirst by having some change for the soda machine, great job on the ActRaiser run, I missed KNiDL though, or at least most of it. Props for the Vivi costume too!

Josh the Funkdoc - Your extensive CV knowledge is really cool, and watching your runs of the games was a pleasure. I think we only got to chat a few times unfortunately, but props for your great runs as well as not only being the Funkdoc, but the Sleepchamp. I have no idea how you were able to crash so consistently in such a noisy environment haha.

Kareshi - Brilliant GnG and SGnG runs. Though I missed the last of SGnG... You make going through those games seem like cake really, GnG didn't even have serious time when for any average gamer that's all the game would be haha. Your piano work was awesome, and I believe that was your Metroid map in the back. For some reason I can't remember if it was you or Feasel that helped me out during my latenight last minute Metroid running, and I apologize for that but shoutouts to both of you for awesome runs!

AniMeowzerz - For just being a generally awesome guy, sorry I missed the Sly run. Your extensive knowledge of Dora games was neat though, and I had a great time nearly killing you with my puns during the Crash 2 run. Shame you couldn't have stuck around longer after the marathon, but it was fun hanging with you while it lasted.

Skullboy - Thanks for all the rides to and from MAGfest and to food and whatnot. I had fun talking about La-Mulana among other things during the rides and hopefully next year you'll get to run something at the marathon, you seem very knowledgable on Dynamite Headdy!

Sinister - For destroying Punch-Out, I'm not even sure I talked to you but Punch-Out is awesome to see done fast, so many neat AI exploits.

Essentia's wife Denton - For going out on so many food runs, so so so many food runs. Thanks for all the food runs, seriously!

Essentia - Watching DKC2 and Dr. Mario was a real treat. Dr. Mario especially took me back to my early childhood so that was really fun, I didn't get to talk much with you but I just had to give props for the run. Also the Chrono Trigger run was fantastic even if I know very little of how running the game works, extra shoutouts to mommy essentia time during DKC2, that was pretty funny haha.

Flip - Your enthusiasm for Castellian pretty much had me laughing the whole way. I'm sorry I didn't catch your run of Shake It though, but it was awesome meeting you and the poverty bonus streaming with you around was that much more enjoyable!

Cody Miller - Shoe dance. All that needs to be said, also a great MGS2 run, glad I was around to catch that!

Nitrodon - For simply decimating Cave Story and being a really nice guy in general. I had fun co-commentating during your run of that and your mimiga mask was cool!

Satoryu - I only got to hang with you a short bit, but you're a pretty chill dude. Congrats on your SotN race victory even with everyone putting up a hell of a fight for it!

Aitemen - For providing SO MANY AWESOME THINGS! You and Mercury made so much for the marathon it was insane!

Anyone else who I missed - Sorry if I missed you, there were so many people there and so much going on I'm not even sure if I got to meet you all or if I did it was only for a very brief time. Hopefully next year I can spend some more time with you all!

And... ONE LAST E-GROUP HUG! Cause the real one was so awesome and heartfelt!
Sea of Green
You are all too nice, I am overwhelmed, aaaaahhhhhh Smiley
Formerly known as Skullboy
Here are my shout outs (in no particular order)

Mike Uyama - Thanks for letting me come and watch some great marathon runs. I learned a lot over the trip. Also, thanks for letting us crash at your house for MAGFest. My respect for the basement continues to grow. Thanks for all the hard work you've put into the site, marathon, and making sure speed running newbies like me get a chance to watch the masters at work.

Breakdown - You rock, man. Thanks for letting me use your Genesis for non marathon practice.

Nate, MercuryZelda, and Lag.com - Didn't get to talk to you three much, but I'd like to say thanks for working hard through the marathon and making it possible for everyone watching via the stream to see all the great gaming and also for the mega cool plushie prizes.

Flip - It was great hanging out with you at MAGFest and Mike's house. I enjoyed your bonus streaming playing,

Stanski - Thanks for chatting with me while I was working on Knuckles’ Chaotix. I am in awe of your Sonic 2 powers.

Andrew G and Sinister - I enjoyed our conversation at the food court during the marathon. Hopefully you two can be around more next time.

Emptyeye - Thanks for coming with me as both moral support and carrying support for the post marathon pizza run. I also enjoyed our discussion of the marathoning scene in general.

Trekhaak - Thanks for sitting by while I was practicing Dynamite Headdy and for being one of the first people to trust me and my horrendous driving skills. I loved your BK and Elmo runs.

Ani - Thanks for sitting by for Dynamite Headdy practice as well. Sorry we didn't get to talk more before.

PJ- Thanks for always being cool and putting up with my dumb questions and comments. Thanks also for introducing me to some games I would never have thought of playing.

Funkdoc - It was great talking to you. Thanks for letting me watch you practice SCIV and Castlevania III and ask questions. It's good to know that I am not the only person from Ohio who came to the marathon.

Puwexil - Sorry I didn't get to talk to you much, but great job handling the donation center.

Pootrain - I enjoyed hanging out with you. Thanks for being cool.

RaneofSOTN - Sorry to annoy you with my ignorance on certain matters. I loved watching your runs and I have a lot of respect for your consistent commentary both while running and while on the commentary computer.

TJP7154 - Thanks for the ride to and from MAGFest  Friday. It was great talking about speed running and careers. Also, thanks for picking food up for me.

Mooh - Thanks for compiling the list for what we needed to bring for the marathon.

Mickey Mage - You are cool. I'm glad we got to talk Disney gaming and gaming in general. Also, thanks for picking up food for me during FFIV.

Romscout and Heidman - Thanks for letting me watch you two practice and ask questions. I loved watching your runs (well, the ones I was awake for).

Ultrajman - Glad you could make it for both the marathon and MAGFest. I enjoyed the various gaming discussions. Hope you make it next year, and that La-Mulana will get the attention it deserves.

Satoryu,Vorpaledge, and Axel Ryman – Thanks for being great roommates in the 4H Center. I’m sorry that I didn’t get to talk to Axel and Satoryu much. Vorpaledge, your Super Metroid and RKA runs were great and I enjoyed your bonus streaming and Fist of the North Star.

Molotov- I’m glad I got to talk to you a lot. You are really cool. Thanks for trusting my bad driving and even worse navigation skills.

Carcinogen – Congrats on getting a Famicom and wanting to beat the Yellow Devil the not so fast way. I’m glad I got to hang out with you. Good luck with your future business plans.

SMK – I loved the Pokemon Yellow run and the great commentary with it. Keep up the great work.

Flicky – I loved the Bayonetta run and I’m glad we got to talk on the food court trip about Doctor Who and soccer/football.

Arrow –Good recoil from the SMG2 run with MM9 and Katamari Damacy. It’s good to see someone not let a run that didn’t go to plan not get them down for the rest of their games. I enjoyed talking Dynamite Headdy and gaming with you.

Cody Milller – Thanks for the great RPG and import/region lock discussions. Sorry I had bad luck while you were watching the botched Dynamite Headdy practice. Hope to see you next year.

Uranium Anchor – I loved your Super Metroid “100”% bonus stream run. I also enjoyed hanging out with you at Mike’s and MAGFest.

Feasel – Thanks for the advice and discussions on speedrunning and gaming in general. I learned a lot from talking to you and watching your practices and runs.

Denton and Essentia - Thanks for letting me ride in the van a few times to get food. Great running as well.

I know I didn't get everyone, but I'd like to give a general shout out to everyone for making me feel accepted. Thank you.

Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time
Special shoutout to power saving plugs. That CT run would have never been finished, otherwise!

Mike Uyama: For being the best dictator ever! It was great to get to talk to you a bit more, even if it was here and there, haha. I missed most of your solo runs, unfortunately, but I know i'll enjoy them once everything is out.

Breakdown: Nice to actually be able to talk to THE MAN this year. Watching you run the Zelda games fast was amazing. And you didn't even need Kareshi's hand drawn map, either. haha

Nate: The destroyer of metroids, and the lifegiver of electronics. Shoutout to you since without you, half of those races would not have been set up properly. Also, being the man for encoding all of this stuff from the marathon!

Lagdotcom: It was great to get to know you. You and Mercuryzelda really are a great pair. Smiley Thank you for keeping a lot of the marathon running as well. You did a great job.

PJ: The poverty games man himself. It was great to get to talk to you in person. You're a really nice guy. Also, watching you destroy Battletoads was just amazing. Your knowledge of all these lesser known games is incredible. It definitely makes for some good laughs, though. Don't beat yourself up too hard over Lawnmower Man now, haha.

Romscout: Glad I was able to hang out with you more this year. It was awesome. Pity this is only once a year. At least we still have your streams!! I really enjoyed watching you practice SOTN in person, too. That two finger method is crazy, man. Also, next year, you should run another megaman game so you can pick the wrong order in that one, too. Still great watching you play platformers live, though.

MercuryZelda: You are awesome at knitting! I was in awe at every plushie and hat I saw. You're also a very nice person to talk to. It was nice to get to know you in person. Next year, Earthbound plushie power will rule the day!

Essentia: Thank you so very much again for letting me borrower your SNES controller for my run. It worked so well, it was amazing. There are special powers in that controller, I just know it! It was also nice to get to talk to you for a little this year, too. Amazing runs of your games, too. I missed actually being in the room for DKC2 and Dr. Mario, but the Chrono run was incredible. Glad you were able to finish it, despite all the bad luck with electricity.

Denton: The only guy I know of with a car that size to attempt to park in such a small parking spot. Also, thank you so much for all the times you took me and others out to get food. I am so glad I went to that Chinese place. That duck was really good.

Stanski: Awesome runs, man. It was great to get to chat with you the few times we did, too. I'm not much for subway, but when you have people to talk to about similar things at the place, it helps.

Rane: Didn't get to talk to really at all, but you're a great guy. Keep up the great commentary.

UltraJman: MISSILES!!!! Seriously, great to meet you in real life finally, dude. You're a chill guy, and also very funny. I still got your streams to talk to you on the offseason, but talking to you in person is loads of fun. That crazy lady will haunt me forever.... I still can't believe she could talk so much! Thank you for getting us out of that damn store. We need puns for Earthbound next year, too. Make the game even crazier.

TJP: Great to see you again. You're a great guy to talk to, I just wish I knew more to say. Otherwise, I probably would have stayed longer to watch you play DKC. I wish I didn't miss your run of that game. I wanted to see you do all those crazy glitches.

MTI (Emptyeye): Your booming voice kept everyone in line. It was awesome to see you commentate so much, though. I probably talked more with you last year than this year, but it was nice to see you again.

Animeowzerz: I still can't believe you button mashed at that speed for so long, when you were demonstrating the hover glitch in Wind Waker. And you did it with one hand, too, at times... You're also a really nice guy. It was fun chatting with you when I could. It is a pity we both had to leave early from the marathon. More Dora next year! (unless TJP takes the crown from you permanently for that game, haha). I missed your game at the marathon, but I will definitely catch it on the upload.

Josh the Funkdoc: Watching your CV runs was awesome. The race was very one sided, but you were just doing so well, I think you were on a roll that night for Castlevania (although I missed most of IV). Also, I'm so glad I caught you in the practice room watching cyfgher streaming SMRPG. First time I had actually watched enough to see him do the super jumps on Johnny. Also, you sleepcam like a champ. I think you take the gold from Mike89 just because you slept through not only all the noise, but also us putting the metroid and snake on you.

Aitaman: Because the Chrono Trigger pearlers were awesome. That Epoch, man, was... just.... I have no words to describe its awesomeness! I really would like to purchase one of those from you at some point. I'll get around to that eventually.

Kareshi: Watching you play piano live this year was just beyond amazing. I also enjoyed watching you draw the Zelda map by hand in the bigger practice room. Can't for more piano action next year!

Carcinogen: For awesome RE runs (I missed 4 and 5 so I didn't get to see the snapping of the disc and the commentary of 5).

Also shoutouts to Darkwing Duck and Tompa after reading the IRC chat about my run. I'm glad you both liked it. As nervous as I was, I'm surprised i did so well.

To anybody else that really wanted to see my game at the marathon, and liked it as well. Thank you!

I know I might be missing some other things, but everybody did a wonderful job with their runs, and helping to raise so much money for charity. This year was incredible. I miss you all and can't wait to be back next year for more laughs (and poverty gaming)!

welcome to the machine
I'd write a long post but I'm worried I'd miss someone.  Instead, I  just want to say thanks to everyone who participated.  It was really fucking awesome being there and seeing some friends and new faces, and I hope to do it again sometime. Smiley
1-Up!
We need a list of everyone there because I have the same reservation about posting in this thread. it sucks being left out, so obviously I wouldn't want to do that to anyone.
